Hello Everyone! I help to run this guest house with my family here in Oahu. I've had many friends come and stay here at Hale Wa'a in the past, and have had many good times with them staying at the guest house and showing them the awesomeness of this island. I really enjoy animation shows, movies, ping-pong, basketball, and exploration. I really look forward to meeting you and providing the Hawaii experience that will keep you coming back year after year \m/
Quinten purchased this House in 2013

A Home Away From Home
Hale Wa'a became our home while we were on vacation. The location was perfect - centrally located to everything we wanted to do, and it was a very safe, comfortable neighborhood. We loved being personally welcomed by our host. Quinten was very helpful and it was a delight to visit with him. The home was stocked with everything we needed, including fresh fruit, snacks & cold lemon water on arrival. He even helped us arrange for a private surf lesson at a reasonable price. Thank you Quinten for responding so quickly to all our crazy questions.
The home itself was exactly what we needed. The beds were super comfortable and we slept well. The bedrooms upstairs are so quiet - we couldn't hear any noise from the kitchen or living room downstairs. And having 2 big bathrooms and a washer & dryer was fantastic. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Hake Wa'a.
Great Location & Host
The property is located in a great neighborhood. The additional touches the host has made for travelers make it a super special experience: fruit, candy, coffee, lemon water, bathroom toiletries...and the house is extremely well stocked too. Beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear. I look forward to staying again.
Beautiful Hale Wa'a
We just checked out today and already are looking forward to return. Quinten, the owner was really accomadating and a great host. He was there to greet us and make sure we were all set for the week. He had fresh fruit,Water and a lot of Aloha ready for our arrival. The house is set up in a really quiet neighborhood outside of the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and all the tourist areas. It is centrally located to everything. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the ocean and has a huge master bathroom with a jet tub and a huge walk in shower. The other bedroom accomadated my two kids. One a teenager. The kitchen has everything you would need as we had breakfast there often. Quinten met us on check out and made sure We were really happy with the place. Also the house has all the beach gear you would need. We didn't walk there but there is a beach in walking distance.
Super cozy and wonderful hosts. Really enjoyed relaxing each day after being out and about. Quentin gave us some great beach and restaurant suggestions. Wonderful flexibility with check in and check out. We have never felt so welcomed. The place is stocked with everything you need. Really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for the very kind review Kim!
We loved hosting you folks as well :)
As I admitted to Quinten, I was hesitant to rent a property attached to the owner's home...but I needn't have been. He and his mom Elaine were very friendly while respecting our privacy, and the entrance to the rental is separated nicely from the main house. They and the neighborhood were quiet and low-key. Quinten promptly responded to questions and was able to accommodate our early check-in request.
We also really appreciated the welcoming goodies (including a mango and pineapple!); the well-stocked kitchen, bath & recreation items (from boogie boards to board games); the beach house/subtle Hawaiian decor and many outdoor plants; ceiling fans & air conditioning (a/c needed, especially upstairs). Important to me was that the whole place was very clean.
My husband and I were with our 2 adult children. Because we grew up in Honolulu, we tend to spend more time hanging out in a rental rather than sightseeing, so 4 adults in the space for a week was about right for us. YMMV.
Recommend renting a car - there's a nice park a block away but the walk to Kahala Mall (with Longs Drugs, Whole Foods, Starbucks and other eateries) is along the highway and 1.5 miles away. The rental was very convenient to places we like to frequent - Kaimuki, Kapahulu, Hawaii Kai, and Aina Haina - with easy access to the highway/freeway to all parts of the island.
Highly recommend Quinten and Elaine's place!
Great deal, location and family...!
