An ideal escape for outdoor lovers, Gold Bend Getaway is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom Truckee townhome that sleeps 8. Tucked a half-mile from Northstar Resort and 6 miles from the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, this home offers easy access to skiing and snowboarding in the Winter, and hiking and biking in the Summer. Guests will love ending the day by the gas fireplace or sipping drinks on the balcony.

The first level greets guests with a convenient entry hall, outfitted with a bench and coat hooks. There’s also a washer and dryer.

On the second floor, a soft sofa sit before a floor-to-ceiling, wood-wrapped fireplace, offering cozy comfort for restful nights, streaming movies on the 60” TV. The kitchen is equipped with Samsung appliances, including a blender. On bluebird days, enjoy taking in the mountain view from the 4-seat table on the balcony.

The guest bedroom is on the top level.

Parking for 2 vehicles makes it simple to explore the surrounding area, including golf courses, restaurants, shopping, and the town of Truckee—only a 20-minute drive away. For easy outdoor adventure, take advantage of the free resort shuttle and the ski locker located outside of the unit. The nearest ski access is at Northstar resort.

Please note: this home does not allow pets and the complex has strict no smoking policies in place.

Great condo. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shuttle is very easy to catch and gets you to the resort quickly.

Our only complaint is VRBO. This great property should rent without using VRBO who only charged fees and sent e-mails threatening no refund. There were weather issues impacting our check in for which VRBO was useless. Once we were able to communicate with Natural Retreats, everything went well. The unit is well-appointed and convenient to the mountain.

Beautiful lodging in forest setting

Overall, very happy with stay. Beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and comfortable condo in a wooded area NW of Tahoe. The property manager was very responsive to phone calls, questions, etc. My family really enjoyed the stay. The only reason I gave this rating a four is because the property manager forces you to sign an onerous legal agreement that was not disclosed in the VRBO listing. Most of the terms were fine, but some were pretty one sided in favor of the landlord. I called the property manager and said I thought this was not fair since no where in the VRBO listing did it say that a legal contract would be required. They were willing to refund my money, but I didn't want to cancel at that point. Also, not affecting the score, you should be aware that this lodging does not have air conditioning. We were there around the 4th of July and temperatures were hot. Still, at night the temperatures drop quite a bit and there is a fan on the 3rd level. It was a little warm on the 3rd level, but ok. Another minor thing, the property gave no instructions on how to access the condo pool. Finally, if you are coming for Lake Tahoe, we found out later that most of the activity is on the south side of the lake, and that's an hour away. But the location is still great if you want a relaxing location away from the crowds in a beautiful forest setting, and not far from north Lake Tahoe. Also, Lake Donner, close by, has warmer water than Lake Tahoe if you want to swim.

cozy & convenient

The house is cozy and equipped with many add-ons for ski & playing with snow. It is conveniently located near a shuttle station (~50Ft away) to northstar. it greatly boosted our ski experience.

Great home base for ski week

Great location, clean throughout, kitchen well-furnished for family meal prep, excellent internet, everything pretty much as described and/or pictured. Could use a tp upgrade. Otherwise, highly recommended.
