Thank you for your business. It was nice you had time to visit the 1800s era church for the plantation on Cherokee Trail. If you decide to do a return visit and the water is warm, you are welcome to use the kayak and tubes at our waterfront. It comes off the highest mountain in Georgia, Brasstown Bald so it does stay cool into the Summer.
Gary was a very welcoming host and exceeded normal hospitality. The apartment was very cozy and the property was beautiful. The creek next to the meadow and fire pit was our favorite perk. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your business. It was nice that you made it to the plantation church and burial ground. Lots of history there. Hopefully if you come back and its warm weather you can try the kayak and inner tubes on the river.

Weekend stay
Finding the place was easy and checking in was easy
The driveway was steep and backing out wad difficult.
It was odd to see exercise equipment in the bathroom and living space.
We did not use the living space.
Our first attempt to walk to the river we were met by 3 large barking dogs so we turned back. The next day we made it down. The gazebo is a screen tent with table and chairs. It really needed some cleaning so we did not sit there. It

Hi Sheila, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
- Thank you for being my guests! I reach out by text and email before each guest's arrival to explain the living area, especially to new guests
- The living area is generously split in two by a central staircase. One side has video games and Bowflex, and the other is a sitting room area with the futon and streaming tv. Our bathroom is large and easily accommodates the stationary bike in one corner. Many of my guests enjoyed a quick workout before jumping in the shower.
- As explained in the property description, this is in a mountain community with some surrounding farms. The dogs mentioned in your review are harmless and live on a farm close to our home. If approached, they will run away. - Because of our location, there's an array of wild animals too. These include bears, deer, possums, turkeys, coyotes, etc.
- Because hiking is done by many on the meadow walk by the river or Cherokee Trail itself, I always recommend a hiking stick, at least due to the wild animals present.
- The area by the river was a summer village for the Cherokees. The trail goes up to Brasstown Bald Mountain via Millers Trek.
- We stored inner tubes and outdoor games in the tented gazebo by the river due to Hurricane Ian, just passing through and with Fall being quite advanced.
- Although the Gazebo wasn't fully available, the firepit and some outdoor chairs were still there to use for your enjoyment.
- We wish there had been more communication, as we are always ready to offer any information our guests request, including local activities.
Communication with my other guests has always been the key to my 5-star reviews.
