About this property

Rocky Knob Cabin is a log cabin overlooking beautiful Brasstown Valley in Young Harris, Georgia. Located on the mountain above Brasstown Valley Resort, Rocky Knob Cabin offers a lovely mountain-top view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in fall and winter with beautiful sunsets, and in the fall and winter, 180 degree panoramic views. It is cozy with all amenities for a relaxing stay. All roads leading to the cabin, including the driveway, are fully paved and in good condition. NOTE: the driveway is a little narrower than some and would not be able to accommodate a dually pickup truck or an extremely large vehicle. We have a Ford F250 that we take at times, and once you get used to navigating, it's not a problem. It is a little steep as many driveways are in the mountains. NOTE: We provide the lock box key code 3 days before your arrival as we change the code between guests. ALSO, we strongly advise that guests have a hard copy of our map or have it available on their phone during the first time up the mountain as the road signs and turns can be a little confusing.

The cabin easily accommodates four people in it's two bedrooms, two baths, living and dining area and it's fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the guest bedroom has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have on suite baths. There is a new flat screen TV in the living area and Netflix available to our guests.

There is a gas grill on the wrap around deck along with a bar height dining table/chairs with umbrella. Coffee is provided for our guests, and the kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with everything you need to make a wonderful meal at home. The cabin is equipped with Wi-Fi, and the Wi-FI password and other important phone numbers are in the blue binder by the microwave. Washer and dryer are available for guests' use during their stay and detergent/bleach is provided.

Beautiful Lake Chatuge and The Georgia Mountain Fairground are about 3 miles from the cabin. It is conveniently and centrally located for day trips to Blue Ridge, Franklin, Murphy, Bryson City, Blairsville, Hayesville, Helen, Brasstown Bald, Dahlonega and close to many hiking locations, wineries, boating and shopping.

It gets better every year!

We've stayed here for several years, each year on our anniversary, and have been blessed with a wonderful vacation and experience every time. Of the total 37 trips over the years of our marriage to North Georgia, staying here at this cabin has been the most special ones. The warmth of the surroundings in the cabin is like staying in the perfect holiday version of your own home. It's cozy and inviting and leaves us with a feeling the rest of the year of wanting to return. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Secluded cabin with all the amenities.

My wife and I skipped our annual vacation last year due to labor shortage at work. After making some adjustment to the business, we were able to go on a vacation this year. This cabin is secluded enough to enjoy some peacefulness and yet only minutes away from town. We had a bit of a problem locating the cabin upon arrival. Do not rely on your GPS. Please follow the map that you were provided with prior to checking in. The cabin is down a steep driveway, so we were unable to have a visual queue when the GPS stated that we had "arrived". Pay attention to the house number which was attached to the wooden trash can cage and also erected from the ground. Drive slowly and really pay attention to the map, not your GPS. Also, try to arrive when there is sill daylight. This cabin is well-furnished. You will have everything needed. We didn't spend much time indoor. We explored Young Harris, Hiawassee and Blairsville. All of them are just minutes away from the cabin. We also went to a few wineries, numerous different restaurants and popular attractions. There are two establishments we highly recommend, The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen and Hiawassee Brew. Both are located in Hiawassee. David was very kind to have given us a call during our stay. He wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and happy with the cabin. We certainly enjoyed our much needed rest and planning on coming back again next year.

Relaxing & Beautiful Mountain Getaway

This property exceeded every expectation we had! We've stayed at some very nice properties over the years, but this one is certainly at the top! If it lacks something in one area it makes it up in another. I'm putting this one on my return visit list!

There was no Mountain View as advertised; the porches needed cleaning; housekeeping could use supervision (Oven dirty, curtains dusty, picture frames dusty, bathroom mats needed washing). There appeared to be mold from a water leak under the sink in the second bathroom.

Birthday Getaway

This cabin is so warm and inviting and is decorated with bright vibrant colors and charming decor. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to see. The cabin is tucked off the road just enough for privacy. The driveway is a bit narrow but that is part of the charm of this cabin. We had a great time exploring the nearby towns, restaurants and shopping. The lake with the mountains all around is absolutely beautiful. We had a great weekend in the North Georgia Mountains! Looking forward to our next visit.

Outstanding Mtn Cabin

We visit the Young Harris area every year and think this cabin is one of the nicest, well furnished and well located cabins we have stayed at over the years. The furnishings are amazing, and every detail throughout is first class. We highly recommend the cabin and plan to return next year.

Wonderful cabin and amenities! A bit short on nearby activities. Numerous restaurants, groceries, not so much. Tranquil, relaxing and the hosts were only a phone call away.

A Great Find!

So excited that we came across this property! Exceptionally clean, comfortable, and cozy. I have never stayed somewhere that was so well set up with absolutely anything you might need for your stay - especially if you stay in and cook or like to spend any of your time in enjoying the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the mountain like we do. We did have a little hiccup getting our info to check in but it was handled so kindly and made up for in the enjoyment of our stay. If they will have us back, I see many more stays in this cozy mountain cabin until we get our own house built nearby!

Beautiful Setting/Lovely Home

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we were able to view this property, but unable to stay there, but my wife and I loved the home. It has a very inviting feel and is meticulous. Dealing with the owners was simply great, and they were most accommodating with our situation. If you are looking for a mountain get-away, that is close to everything you need, you will not be disappointed with this property.

Nature Getaway

Tucked among trees in the mountains, log cabin feel with modern amenities … an ideal getaway! Thoughtful hosts too —we felt very welcomed. Map apps may not show the location well, but just keep driving up the road and the house number is well marked. Note that it’s a very steep driveway down to get to the main entrance, but there’s plenty of room to turn around your vehicle. Be sure to read the PDFs that will be messaged to you when you reserve. That’s where all the key information is re: Wi-Fi access, checkout instructions, etc. Loved staying here, and the surrounding countryside is just gorgeous. Would definitely go back!!

Awesome cabin getaway

This cabin is in a prime location, wonderful hosts who made us feel at home right from the beginning. The cabin was well stocked and we couldn’t have asked or wanted for anything more ! Short Business Trip

Space was very clean and comfortable. Close and easy to get to the Brasstown Resort where our meetings were help. Driveway was a little narrow for my truck worked out.

Cozy cabin get-a-way

Throughly enjoyed my stay at this cabin. Very clean and had all the amenities needed. Big plus was having live TV (DirectTV) (which most cabins don't have) so I was able to watch the Braves games. Grill was perfect for making steaks. Host was very accommodating and communication was fantastic.

One of the Best VRBO Rentals

We’ve stayed here many times and always enjoy it. The location is reasonably easy to access but very quiet and private. Convenient to Blairsville, Young Harris and Hiawassee. Easy drive to Clayton or Blue Ridge for daytrips. The property is very well equipped and is always clean when we arrive. The owners are great and responsive. Door Dash will find it also with a little help. Highly recommend overall.

We live in upstate South Carolina, and Young Harris is the perfect place for a vacation home. We never tire of the beautiful and relatively short drive . The short distance allows us to enjoy the cabin ourselves on short notice and also enables us to keep everything in tip top shape.

Why they chose this property

David and I became familiar with this beautiful area when his sister and husband moved up from Amelia Island. In visiting with them, we felt a real connection with the area and began toying with the idea of purchasing our own place. In 2008, it became a reality, and we purchased Rocky Knob cabin from a local couple. We love our place and enjoy sharing its' "magic" with others.
