Getaway

Perfect for people who like ocean swimming/recreation. Had nine mie beach to ourselves. Fantastic view. Lovers of a firm mattress may be disappointed.

Secluded and quaint beach house

Lovely quirky little place right on the beach front. The weather was cold, wet and windy so it was a great spot to bunker down in, play board games and cook in front of the fire.

Private, secluded gem

We loved staying in this quirky 1970's gem !! Everything you need is here in this stunning part of Tassie. We got so much delight from the styling and added rements of a past era in which we grew up in. The view tantalises the senses. The little 4 seater glass table had us playing backgammon looking at the view for hours over a wine and nibbles. The inclusion of bikes for rides on the beach were so much fun. Comfy beds, well appointed kitchen and new bathroom was fabulous. Have a bath outside with some bubbles and a cheese platter to embrace the whole experience. Such a delightful stay on every level.

Million dollar view and so peaceful

Fantastic view and so peaceful, it was a shame to leave. The house was very nice, modern kitchen and bathroom, but we found that the furniture was a bit old and uncomfortable.

Secluded Getaway

We loved getting away from everything at IdleWild. Nestled in the dunes with magnificent views, the 70's beach shack was perfectly quirky, cozy and comfortable. Having bikes to ride along the beach at low tide was so much fun. Suited us perfectly. Thankyou.

Stunning location. Really enjoyed our stay although maybe a few things needed upgrading in the house - the front door for example! So difficult to lock/unlock! And the key box opens no matter what number you put in. Loved the fireplace. Little cold downstairs in the bedrooms but very cozy upstairs. Beach is lovely and only 50 mins to Coles Bay. Would be amazing spot in the summer.

February fabulous

This was the sanctuary we needed to replenish. The location is amazing of course, but it was the little improvements that made such a difference. We were there last year and we thoroughly enjoyed out stay, but to our surprise there were many additions to take it to the next level. This place now has more equipment to enjoy the beach and a fab Delongi coffee maker. We loved the new couch and day bed to read to nap on or my newest book. We had a great bicycle ride on the beach with the bikes they kindly provided...oh and the body board was perfect because we forgot ours. The house was clean and ready to enjoy. Great ambience with the lamps. Thank you for such a lovely experience and improvements!

What a great spot!

Wow, this property is incredible. We took our 2 beach loving dogs and had the most wonderful week. The shack was comfortable and had everything we needed, the beach just a short stroll away was definitely the highlight. Kitchen well supplied, beds comfortable. There were a few holes in the fence that our escape artists could have gotten through so keep that in mind if you have dogs that like to go exploring. We created a smaller yard inside the property as we were worried about snakes also at this time of year so no problems for us there. We didn't get to clean as well as we normally would prior to leaving and appreciated the property manager's understanding. We will definitely back, a very relaxing week spent between the beach and the deck with those incredible views.

Peace and Serenity in buckets

Perfect escape for peace and quiet. House is perfect for a family or small group. Easy beach access. Loved the fun and quirky decorating of the property. New kitchen and bathroom- great water pressure and very comfy beds. Amazing views and wildlife galore. Lots of little things that made the stay extra special- bikes provided, chairs for the beach, coffee machine and the latest kitchen appliances. Owner very easy to deal with and simple house rules. Just what we needed over Christmas- a great place to just chill out. Loved Dolphin Sands and only a few minutes to Swansea.

Beautiful and relaxing stay

We have stayed at this property before and love it to bits. Views are stunning, well set up kitchen, close to wineries and beach a stone's throw away. Especially loved the new experience of using the beach bikes! And excellent set up for our dog to come with us - beach holidays are her favourite, she also gives 5 stars! Thanks Amelia!

Beautiful location

Great views from upstairs with a lovely path to the beach. House was very well equipped and clean. We all loved our stay and enjoyed the short visit from writer Nicholas Shakespeare.

Beautiful beach house

We stayed for three nights in this fantastic beach house and enjoyed every moment of it. There was everything we would need from all the streaming service to a coffee machine sadly the host contacted me prior to check-in to let me know the dishwasher wasn't working as she could not find someone to fix it so not a perfect three days away from house work but it was damn near close. All in all we enjoyed the house and it's right on the beach ⛱️ 😎 what more could you want. I would highly recommend this beach house to anyone for the perfect weekend away.

Absolutely stunning

The property was exactly as we expected, it was comfortable, cosy and in the best location. The kitchen was well equipped, big tv was great with a number of streaming services available, nice to have a fire. The bed was amazingly comfortable and very welcome after a late arrival. However the best part was the absolute beach front location - beautiful.

Idle bliss

Once again we had a fabulous stay at Idle Wild. Wild and woolly weather on one day kept us inside but fully entertained with lots of games and streaming services. Good excuse to have a cosy fire as well. On other days we enjoyed the beach and magnificent views. One of my favourite things to do (ever) is to ride one of the beach bikes while our dog, Liza, runs beside, leaping in and out of the waves. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Best holiday in 3 years!

We had the most enjoyable holiday at Idlewilde. Everything was perfect. The owners have obviously spent a lot of time thinking about what would make their guests happy and comfortable, and they have catered accordingly. The decor illicits a sort of nostalgia. Yet the up to date kitchen (also with fabulous views) makes meal preparation a pleasure. The bathroom is large and user friendly. The beds were cosy and super comfy with an abundance of pillows, blankets and towels. We loved the almost too good to be true views, the short walk through the dunes to the beach, and snuggling in by the wood fire. It's great that the beautiful natural vegetation is undisturbed, and we viewed and saw many birds, and an echidna. One clear sunny morning we even saw a pod of dolphins in the bay! We enjoyed using the bikes. Compliments to the cleaner/ housekeeper- the house was scrupulously clean and welcoming when we arrived. We will be thinking about our Dolphin Sands holiday for years to come! Thankyou for sharing your gorgeous hideaway.

Perfect Base For Exploring the East Coast

A beautiful beach house with stunning views and all the conveniences of home including wi-fi, Netflix and so much more. Perfect place to spend a few days or a week and explore the East Coast. We will definitely be back!

Bought this property in January 2022 for an occasional escape. I fell head over heels with the wild majesty of its setting in a natural dune garden right on the beach. I never thought we could be so lucky as to find such a special place.

And places such as these must be shared!

この宿泊施設の特徴

Although the property is very private and very wild feeling, it is actually not that remote and close to Swansea for amenities and lots of lovely lunch and dinner options nearby in the wineries and at Piermont.

Add to that the Freycinet National Park on your doorstop and you cannot ask for much more!
