Location was great for skiing at Berkshire East. Host gave helpful instructions. The fireplace/stove was an excellent in the evening after a long day of skiing.

Berkshire Idyll

We stayed here for a long weekend and greatly enjoyed the river on the property and used the firepit. The location was great as we did activities at Zoar and the Mountain. We had a great time.

Historic Charm

Great charming place to stay. Plenty of room to relax, play games, watch TV, and warm up by the wood-burning stove. Owner is very responsive and friendly and less than 10 minutes from Berkshire East.

We had a lovely stay! Charming and comfortable. Beautiful scenery. I loved reading about the history of the house! We shifted our arrival and departure time--the host was very accommodating!

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house was very comfortable and the owner was very responsive. The sound of the river right outside was delightful! The bathrooms are very nicely updated - a nice perk when staying in an older home.

Great spot!

We spent a lovely weekend at the house with our 12yo and dog. What a beautiful spot. Super convenient to skiing at Berkshire East. Would definitely stay there again.

Comfy!

Just the right accommodation for 6 adults. Beds were adequate, and plenty of space for us to share a sit-down meal.Lovely location, with river nearby, and in the backyard was a beautiful meadow.

Had a simply lovely getaway weekend at this home. The atmosphere is peaceful and sweet. Beds were comfy. Wood stove so beautiful! I have never seen a rental home so well stocked with amenities. We would love to return!

Wonderful family stay

This house was a wonderful location for a 3-day, 3-generation family gathering after Christmas. There was plenty of room for indoor relaxing, a comfortable, well-equipped kitchen for eating, an expanse of snow for fun with a 5-year old on x-c skis (as well as nearby x-c trails), and a nice outdoor fire pit. We very much appreciated the high chair, portable crib, and the toys in the corner of the living room.

Weekend Getaway

My family spent Fathers Day weekend here and had a blast! We didn’t even leave the property - relaxed in the yard, hiked nearby and played in the water. The farmhouse was so cozy and relaxing. Plenty of different areas to be together or spend quiet time alone. We all feel recharged!

Charming historic home perfect for ski weekend

Our group was 7 adults and 1 dog for a ski weekend and we were very pleased with our stay. The house was clean, cozy, well-stocked, and comfortable for all of us to cook, eat and socialize together. We loved the ample supply of board games, clean and modern bathrooms, the wood burning stove, and historic charm of the house. The host was very responsive and made it easy to contact him if we needed anything. We would absolutely consider this property again when visiting in the future.

Country living

This place accommodated my 12 family members. Insect infestation in the property was very overwhelming. Ants and spiders in the kitchen and gnats and mosquitoes in the bedrooms at night.The property manager was very kind.

I’m truly sorry the insects were a disruption during your stay.Being in a rural area, especially in spring, can bring occasional ants, spiders, or gnats. That said, we genuinely do our best to keep them to an absolute minimum. Since your visit, I’ve added ant traps in the kitchen and asked our cleaner to reseal around the AC units to help block out gnats. We also recommend keeping upstairs windows closed and using the AC or fan instead. I appreciate your feedback and have taken your comments seriously to improve the experience for the future."

Weekend Getaway

My family stayed here for a long weekend and it was amazing. The house had everything we needed and was such a comfortable place to either be together or find a corner and relax alone. The views are amazing and the kids loved to play on all the land and the stream. We were busy from sun up to sun down and didn't even leave the property. And we are coming back fully recharged.

Stayed for a couple nights as a family of 5. The home is old and charming New England experience. We loved the Chickley River in the backyard, we played in it everyday sometimes twice a day. The property location was perfect, near the activities we had planned (rafting, mountain coaster). The host was great, and communicated well.

Super Cozy

This place was perfect. It was cozy and a little rustic, but clean with nice bathrooms. Everything worked and was easy to manage. Plenty of parking for our 4 vehicles. The owner/rental manager was kind and easy to get a hold of if needed, and the kitchen was stocked appropriately. Meaning, there were enough dishes, enough silverware, the fridge was clean and available, etc. It was a great space and highly recommend it to anyone considering a getaway.

Location, location, location

This place was perfect for our group of ten. We were looking for a house in the country near Berkshire East ski resort and this house fit the bill, just 10 minutes from the mountain. The kids loved the rope swings and the river running through the back yard. The host was great, he answered all of our questions in a timely manner and had the house ready for our early arrival. There’s not much cell service out here so the wifi calling saved the day! It was priced affordably, we will definitely be back!

October Visit

We loved the property! Our family, which included 2 very young grandchildren all felt comfortable in this historic home with 2 modern bathrooms. I loved the open kitchen and family rooms, and the original wide plank floors. Plus, we were happy to find toys to entertain the 3 year old. The owners were very gracious and responsive. Visitors should just be aware that the owners' unit shares a common wall with the house. Dog barking and sounds of their kitchen preparation were evident through the walls, as one might expect in an old house.
