I feel so sorry for the owner who left his home in the hands of whoever manages his property. Being a homeowner and landlord myself, I realize that not everything is the actual homeowners fault and I hope this is enough for him to pursue a charge back for the lack of services he is paying for.
1- The property is listed as a luxurious vacation home. It is far from it. The sheets were the cheapest, dingiest, lowest quality thread count and had body hair on them. The pillows were stained and flat. The towels were all mismatched, and not plush at all. The bathroom rugs were nasty and worn out. The couches were so wore out that you could feel the wood digging into your legs when you sat down. We couldn’t even sit at the table bc the base was so wobbly, it had a glass top and every time you touched it, it would sway back and forth. Laminate was peeling off the the fixtures.
2-The floors were absolutely disgusting. Our feet were black within 30 minutes of taking our shoes off. The hand railings and walls were filthy, one swipe of a baby wipe turned it black.
3- The “high speed internet” was hit or miss. When it did work, it was very slow, even after rebooting the router. There was no cable, you had to use the spectrum app and they had no channels that were worth watching.
4- For a week long stay, we were given 1 extra trash bag, and a roll of the cheapest toilet paper. Also the one roll of paper towels that were supplied were dollar tree quality.
5- The dishes in the cabinet still had food stuck on them. I understand that they aren’t sanitized but there were still dirty! There were also multiple knives missing, and when you have young children in the house it’s a cause for concern bc they could be anywhere.
6- multiple lights were blown out and we had to use the lamps instead.
7- The AC didn’t work. We had to open up the doors and turn the fans on in order to cool the house down.
For the amount of money we paid, we were expecting to at least have a clean property. The area is nice and is close to everything, but it seems as if the homeowner is being swindled into believing that his property is being properly cared for. This was the most disgusting rental I’ve ever stayed at thru VRBO and I would never recommend it to anyone else until it gets a complete overhaul. It’s a slap in the face to pay as much as we did and get the lowest quality effort. This is not luxury so please stop listing it as such!
