Cozy ,artistic cottage in a garden setting close to the beach and hiking trails.

Set within an ever-changing garden, our cottage offers a relaxing atmosphere. Among flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees, this spot is the perfect place to enjoy nature. The perfect artist retreat or getaway from the daily stress. Currently, there are ducks on the property, so fresh eggs may be available.

The cottage is decorated with original artworks and furnished with artistic touches, has a large deck with outdoor dining area .On the main floor there is a queen-size bed, and there is another queen-size bed on the loft.


There is a nearby beach that is only five minutes walk away or you can choose between various biking and hiking trails. Local shops and markets are only a short drive away. In addition, we have a gallery/showroom on the property.

Perfectly cozy cottage

We had four adults in our group and the cottage was a great size for all of us. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and everything was nice and clean. Cool art on the walls and the gardens surrounding the cottage were beautiful!

Kitchen was nice, nice BBQ, stove took some time to figure out. Beds very firm. There was an explanation on how to reset the faulty smoke alarm. I think replacing it would be more appropriate . The gate at the top of the steep gravel driveway is a fair climb, inconvenient to open before driving up and through. Also precarious after sundown as it is not well lit. We stayed in summer. It was quite hot, the lack of air conditioning forced us to keep the windows open - the crickets were deafening. Shower was lukewarm, no shelving for soap or shampoo. No hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes The host found a customized leather jacket we accidentally left behind. Without any attempt to contact us threw it away. Very cold.

Perfect oasis

A perfect oasis during our three day family vacation. Super nice hosts. Spacious, bright, and comfortable with everything we needed and more. Quiet and private and perfect temperature in the house even when it was hot out. Check out the talented artists‘ creations of glass, wood, visual arts, and products from their abundant gardens.

Beautiful and peaceful retreat

Sonja’s place is set in a beautiful garden full of flowers and is very peaceful and quiet. The property is clean and neat and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent - very close to the ocean and a quick drive into Powell River. Highly recommended.

Cute cottage

This little cottage is located on a beautiful piece of property and it is nice to walk through the garden and view the ducks. The owners are very helpful.

Charming clean bright cottage with nice modern amenities, in a very quiet location. Owners immediately went above and beyond to replace a defective appliance for us. We enjoyed meeting them on their country property. Thank you!

This is a nice open space and it felt very good to be in the cottage. It is bigger than the photos show, with a large modern bathroom (and lots of hot water). The cottage is totally clean, bright, and comfortable. It is obvious you take care of your guests, and the kindness too. Sincerely, Caitlin

The cabin was roomy and well-equipped for 2 people. The kitchenette and dining room/living room were spacious and well-appointed. The grounds outside were lovely and peaceful. The added bonus was watching the ducks wandering the yard.

Cozy cottage

I loved it here. The cottage itself is very clean, well appointed and stunning decor. The location is close enough to town to still be convenient. The property is super peaceful. I was here for just a couple of days for work but it felt like a mini vacay.

Charming oasis

We were blown away by the beauty of the property- beautiful gardens, the yard artfully filled with wildflowers. The cabin itself was so cute, and we loved seeing Sonja’s artwork in the space. Speaking of, we were grateful to have such kind, considerate hosts. If you are looking for somewhere tranquil and remarkably picturesque to stay in Powell River, this is it!

Comfy and Clean

Wonderful cottage perfect for 2-4 people. Very clean and well equipped, loved sitting on the patio at night and listening to the birds. The driveway down is steep and a bit rocky - my subaru outback had no issues, but a smaller lower profile vehicle might need to park on the road and walk down. Highly recommend this lovely cottage.

When we first arrived at the property there was only a slice of forest.
A bit of imagination and hard work went into transforming it into its current state. We designed and built both the main house and the cottage. Things are always changing around here. Garden is an important element that has to be both useful and beautiful, as it keeps us occupied and makes us happy.

Having enough space for our businesses and hobbies is a great perk of living here. An art studio, a workshop, and a showroom are all in one place. Please be aware that due to the unique topography, the site is not accessible to anyone with disabilities.Sometimes guests decide to park their cars in front of the property and walk to the cottage due to the steepness of the driveway.
