Thank you so much for your comments! Your title of our cabin is perfect “Great Get-away”...I love it! I’ve been trying to figure out to emphasize just that in our advertising. We provide everything you need in the way of modern living...but, allow you to get away from what ensnares us in our daily lives...cable (satellite) t.v., wifi, etc....We all need to pull away from that and just enjoy the beauty that is before us...the proximity of the river out the front door, the animals and nature, the fishing, Yellowstone Park...all those great amenities are what bring us to this wonderful, beautiful place...not cable t.v. and wifi. So thank you again very much for pointing that out! Hope you were able to find a dvd that you could watch on the t.v., but sorry again for not providing cable....it’s just not why we want people to come to our cabins! We enjoyed having you very much! God bless, The Riches
Experience was everything we wanted.
Cabin had an impressive view on the Madison River. It was extremely clean, owners were very attentive when needed. I would stay there again.
Wonderful! Thank you so much! Please come back again, we are grateful to have guests that take such good care of our cabins. Bless You! The Riches
Tranquil, beautiful - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
My wife and I set up this trip for our 15th anniversary and began looking for places to stay in the Yellowstone area 10 months in advance. While searching online, I happened upon the Rich's lakefront cabin and loved it. Began talking with Tracie and she was incredibly helpful, through emails and a phone call. She led me to this river cabin, sent me every pic and link you can imagine to answer all my questions, and we cannot be any happier with our stay and entire experience from start to finish. She was a delight to work with, full of hospitality and grace.
We used this cabin as a base from which we visited every direction, from Yellowstone to Gallatin River to Cliff Lake (a treasure on the prairie) and although it is about 35-40 mins to the park, it is an easy drive. For someone who commutes 100 miles a day, I was not entirely looking forward to that much driving, but it is easy and full of sights to see.
Our first morning at the cabin, we walked out to listen to the river and were greeted by a Bald Eagle flying about 20 feet in front of our faces, eye level. We saw him throughout the week, along with a Golden Eagle and several Osprey. Beautiful.
We are night sky buffs also, and the sky is as deep and wide as we have ever experienced, especially being from Eastern PA. Just sitting on the porch with the river flowing and the breadth of the sky in front of us, it was very refreshing to our minds and spirits. I took many pictures of the Milky Way and since the weather was so perfect for us all week (9/1-8), they came out great. It is a place, as Christians, that was easy to reconnect with each other and our Lord through observing His Creation and stopping our racing minds for a change to listen to His Spirit.
The Rich's were gracious in their provisions, their "policies" are generous and easy to follow and the cabin was very comfortable to us in every way. The security deposit was returned without delay and we would be glad to answer questions or give a referral to anyone that needs it. We did not want to leave, wanted to buy the place from them on the spot if we could!
By the way, the fishing at the cabin was quite good as well! A little slippery for sure, but PLENTY of trout in that portion of the Madison.
We can easily say it was one of the best weeks of our lives, and the cabin and the Rich's were an integral part to that formula. So many thanks!
Your review is so very sincere! It fills our heart with joy to know how much you loved being at the Madison river cabin...We love being able to share something that we love with others. Thank you so very much and we hope that you will come back soon—maybe for good :)
Very nicely maintained and supplied cabin for 2
We very much enjoyed our week stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park. Although a 36 mile drive to the park entrance, the cabin was so nicely maintained and in lovely setting, the daily drive to and from the park was okay.
The cabin was fully supplied with everything we needed along with a few nice little surprise perks (box of popcorn, smores makings, etc).
The cabin was very very clean, comfortable bed and furnishings, and nice large fluffy towels.
We ate breakfast and dinner in the cabin every day and I (who love to cook) found the kitchen amply supplied. A gas grill was available for grilling every evening on the covered deck overlooking the Madison River. There is a 2 burner stove top, but only a small toaster oven and no regular oven. So, along with adjusting to high altitude baking. it did take some experimenting for me to successfully bake biscuits and a small mini pie in the toaster oven. But I did borh and they turned out great.
The owners were very nice and responsive when we had questions and when the gas grill needed a new propane tank.
Overall, a nice quiet, out of the way place to stay while visiting the amazing Yellowstone area
The property was very clean, neat, and well equipped with extra treats too. The bed and pull out couch were very comfortable. And the views were outstanding. Easy drive to many beautiful locations as well as Yellowstone!!
Thank you so much, please come again, we enjoyed having you too :) The Riches
Beautiful and relaxing
We stayed in the cabin while taking day trips into Yellowstone it was lovely and relaxing, with absolutely gorgeous views! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the photos make it look like the river is easily accessible however the very large bruise on my thigh from sliding down the steep slope begs to differ. Overall though would not have wanted to stay anywhere else!
Located on the infamous Madison River for fishing; surrounded by publc lands, lakes, streams for additional recreational opportunities; close drive to West Yellowstone, MT & the entrance to Yellowstone National Park; close to Ennis and Virgina City, MT for great shopping, dining, and historic fun things to do; and close to Island Park, ID for additional great fishing & recreational oppportunites. We lived in the are for 25 years and we still haven't seen it all--it is such a beautiful place to enjoy!
