Charming cabin

This little cabin was charming, well apointed, and located in a beautiful area. Even though it was small the flow and layout were very functional. It was exactly what we needed for our family of four to be able to enjoy the Bryson City area. Thank you for the hospitality.

Cozy Cabin

We enjoyed this cozy cabin a lot- close to town but private. The owner thought of all the little things like a hair dryer and kitchen items. Clean and comfortable with a nice fire pit in back and rocking chairs on the porch. We hope to go back someday.

Mountain Quiet

We really enjoyed our stay, we went for the peace and quiet from our daily work and life in Wilmington NC. The house was perfect and just far enough away from town to get some quiet.

Great get away place!

Our family of 4 really enjoyed this quaint little cottage. Quiet and peaceful. We spent most of our time out of the house but when we were there it was very nice. Floors are a little sloped, but that was actually part of its charm!

Just Right Cottage

We stayed for three nights to enjoy kayaking and rafting on the Pigeon, Nantahala, and Tuckaseegee. The location was convenient and the property was very well-maintained. The AC worked particularly well, the furnishings were comfortable, and the wraparound porch offered a relaxing spot to watch the hummingbirds. We prepared breakfast and lunch each day with groceries obtained from a quick trip to the local Ingles. This cottage was exactly what we needed and we will stay here again.

Homestead 1 Bryson City

4 persons and one dog. Came with bass boat and two vehicles. We cooked all our own food. Everything went well. Accommodations were satisfactory. No complaints. The cabin met all needs. It had a fire pit we used each night and a charcoal grill to cook steaks and burgers. Lots of shade at this cabin. Ice cold air conditioning. The cabin is centrally located to Bryson City. We boated on Fontana Lake at the Bryson City Fontana Boat Launch 15 minutes away. I would stay there again.

Great Mountain Weekend

We loved the Homestead Cabin at Settler's Mountain! My husband and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, came to Bryson City for a ride on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad. This cabin was the perfect place to stay! It was 12 minutes from the railroad and downtown Bryson City. We found plenty of shopping and places to eat nearby. The cabin itself is small but very quaint and charming. It was plenty of room for the four of us for the weekend. It was well stocked for those wanting to cook, had a washer and dryer, comfortable beds, great front porch, nice private fire pit (even though there was an outside burn ban while we were there), a nice electric fireplace, TV, and wifi. We would definitely stay in this little cabin again!

WE loved this house!

This small rustic cabin is located in a beautiful private setting. It has recently been "refreshed" so it was clean and looked great! The porch is a great place to relax and enjoy nature and the back yard has an amazing seating area around a fire pit. There is a country road close by, but the traffic is minimal and not distracting. It's close to several NC towns with some good eats and lots of hiking close by including on the property itself. Note - there isn't a dishwasher or ice maker but we didn't miss them! Very relaxing...

Settlers Mountain

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the rustic Homestead 1. The family’s story made it even more special. Such a beautiful property! We give a “3” star for the property manager, Dale, who I called the previous Tuesday. Evolve Properties made a point in the listing that they will try to accommodate late check outs if at all possible. I requested a one hour delay (11am versus 10 am) and was quickly and curtly told no because the properties are turned over so fast (check in is at 4). The other request was what type of coffee maker the home had so we could bring either pods or grounds. Dale didn’t know and was not interested in finding out. Not a huge deal but just would have been a nice customer service touch. It’s a Mr Coffee.:) The property was clean. Loved the birds and quiet.

Beautiful location, cute house, poor management/support

Title says it all, I’d stay in the general location again, beautiful surroundings, easy access to town, but be aware that cell signal there is poor to none so trying to reach anyone for help can be a challenge. House itself was cramped but cute. Always amuses me that there are extra “rules” for cleaning after you arrive onsite with threats of “additional charges” if the dishes aren’t cleaned. As the host, even after I clean dishes, wouldn’t you want your cleaning crew to clean them again to ensure the next guests don’t fall ill if the cleaning wasn’t done right? I’d want to know the dishes were run through a dishwasher and disinfected properly from the last use. Contracted cleaners can clean the house, beds/sheets/pillow cases, but not the dishes. Not well thought through! Local host was not helpful, very dismissive and suggested I call the booking number for help. I couldn’t access my reservation and instead of guiding me as to where to find the house number in the reservation and how the property was laid out, basically said “I can’t help you”. Would not book an Evolve property again. I’ll be interested in seeing if this full review is posted as is, I made a copy to compare if they edit or just don’t post it at all. A few simple lines of text directions would make the entire experience 100% better.

Late Fall Cabin Stay

I spent a week using this cabin as a "home base" as I explored the Nantahala Forest and Great Smokey Mountains Park. The cabin sits near the foot of Settler's Mountain nestled between two ridges. In the summertime, this is probably welcome to keep the cabin cool, but during the colder season, it does get chilly in the area around the cabin. The front of the cabin sits over a concrete shed that tends to keep cool. The cabin is able to get warm enough, but the front area won't get particularly hot. One feature that is very nice to balance this is that the bathroom has a powerful heater and vents so you can shower off and stay warm at the same time! The furnishings are simple and sturdy, great for a couple of guys going out for adventures, less suitable for a romantic couple or small family. The beds are soft, some would find them too soft, but I slept well enough. The rugs are thin and the floors are a little drafty over the shed, which means that you better have wool socks for walking around if it's cold out. There is a bit of a walk up to the shared facilities where cut firewood is provided for $0.50 per stick and some good DVDs are available for borrowing. At the top of the "neighborhood" there is a trail that will lead you to the summit of Settler's Mountain. The hike is steep and challenging in a couple of places - a trekking pole or at least a hiking stick is recommended - but it was not so challenging that I ever had to crawl (although I did slide a little at one section). All in all, I would find this cabin suitable for a rustic, adventurous person who is looking to get out to the various regional attractions. If you're looking for more of a cozy stay, one of the other cabins would likely be more suitable for your needs without having a huge jump in price.
