All was as advertised, very clean and the location can't be better. The only tricky part is the garage but is manageable. Pro tip, enter the car backwards.
Our family loved our stay in Cooks Hill. The location is perfect, close to everything you could need. Leanne and Chloe were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend. We will be back.
The flat was in a great location, was clean and had everything we needed. Nice sunny balcony and the aircon was great. Close to beach, harbour, shops, restaurants, cafes, art gallery, civic theatre and museum. Lots of good walks up to the cathedral, beach, civic park, foreshore etc.
Just a few tips, the tone of the wording on the mandatory credit card form to cover and damages, extra rubbish etc, could be have been friendly. It was fine, but the tone does make you feel like you might be charged over any little infringement, like forgetting to unpacking the dishwasher when you leave.
That said, we really enjoyed our stay.
My two oldest school friends & I have a long weekend away each year and this year we chose Newcastle. Andy & Anna's was the PERFECT base for us - walking distance to a range of cafes and restaurants and even down to the waterfront and a very short drive to the beaches and coastal walk.
Some of the furnishings have been refreshed since the online photos were taken and it's very nice - great light, very quiet in spite of the location, two balconies and warm in winter. Easy parking - but do reverse in !
Only slight downside is that it's up two flights of stairs which we weren't expecting - and we tend to overpack ! But this didn't detract once the bags were upstairs !!
I'd recommend this apartment for stays of any duration including if you need to go to Newcastle for work as the wifi was good enough in my opinion. Really very good.

Our apartment was good and in a great location but renting through AA Newcastle was not a pleasant experience. For the first time ever i was required to fill in a security form snd despite having paid in full was not given the address or entry information until completed. I’d overlooked this so didnt receive entry info until 9am on the dsy & was told i needed to collect keys in a seperate suburb/location to the property. When queried why, I was told it was impossible to have a key lock, but other apartments inbthe block did? Staff were rude, condescending & forgot they were providing a service. Parking was in s tricky spot, especially if you had a big vehicle. I will never use or recommend AA Newcastle again.

Hi Jane, Thank you for your feedback, it is quite disappointing you have written a review like this considering that before you book, this information is stated in our listing as well as sent to you twice, once you have booked the property. This form is to protect our landlords, in case of any damage etc to the property. The very specific parking instructions were sent to you in an email along with the check-in instructions. As you made it very clear to Leanne, that you did not have a car and how inconvenient it was for you to travel less than 5 minutes to our office to collect the key on public transport, we didn't see the urgency to double-check that you had read and understood these clear instructions. Our staff always act in a professional manner and we did everything we could to make sure you understood everything, However, this can become difficult when the guest speaks in such an aggressive way.
After the way you spoke and addressed our staff, we are more than happy for you not to stay with us again.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay in this lovely property.
