Escape to Gull Cottage, a slice of Newquay history nestled on one of its oldest streets. This charming fisherman's cottage puts you right in the heart of the action – vibrant restaurants, unique shops, and stunning beaches are all just steps away. Leave the car behind and explore this trendy Atlantic resort town on foot. Inside, enjoy a cozy, clean retreat designed for comfort, whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with your dog. We're passionate about sustainability, from our energy-efficient air-source heating and refillable amenities to our commitment to recycling and locally sourced art and furniture. Your furry friend will feel right at home with provided beds, bowls, towels, and treats. All essentials are included with your booking, and beach towels are available for a small fee. Gull Cottage is a small space with a big heart, dedicated to both your comfort and the environment.

Gull Cottage was very well equipped and superbly located only 5 minutes walk from Towan Beach. It was a lovely touch to provide afternoon tea and dog beds, bowls and biscuits. It was easy to find and very comfortable with good contact south our hosts - I would thoroughly recommend this lovely accommodation

Great stay in a great location

My family and I had a great holiday, all thanks to choosing the right place and location. Karen was awesome, answering all my questions and really made it easy for us to check-in. The house was clean, well looked after and had everything we needed. The location is perfect, near the two beaches we wanted to be close to, as well as town. So all in all great place and we are hoping to be back soon.

Very charming and cute cottage.

Stayed here over the New Year period and had a lovely stay. The cottage is very charming, very well equipped and it's really a good size inside too. Nice and cozy and warm. The street was small and quiet and in a really good location in the centre of Newquay, but away from any noise, if any, at night time. We would look to stay again in the future. Amanda, Lancashire

Perfectly sited break in the best bit of Newquay

Had a great time in Oct half-term break here. Daughter walked to surf course at Fistral Beach, everything else a short walk out of the door. No parking, but the nearby long term parking car park was cheap and easy. Oh, and Sainsbury's literally opposite!

This cottage is listed as small but it was much bigger than expected and was perfect for 2adults, 2teenagers and a small dog. The kitchen had everything and was great for self catering. Literally behind the Main Street of Newquay but so quiet even at night. You can walk to all the beaches and Sainsbury’s just 30sec walk. We parked for the week up on the hill at Tregunnel car park (approx 10mins walk) for about £15 for 7days. Location was perfect and would definitely book again if visiting the area.

Epic location, and just lovely.

You can walk to the beach in seconds. The grocery store is across the street. Forget one thing from your recipe for dinner? No problem; walk across the street and you’ll be back before two shakes of a lambs tail. The place has a lovely beachy decoration theme, and a well appointed kitchen. Probably most valuable bit of info is this— my wife said she’d come back in a heart beat.

Super gemütliches Cottage in top Lage

Das Cottage ist super gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Mit zwei Schlafzimmern, Wohnzimmer, Esszimmer bietet es auch genug Platz, um bei schlechtem Wetter drinnen zu bleiben. Karen ist ein super Host, sie hat auf alle Fragen sofort geantwortet und Ideen gehabt bzw. Lösungen gefunden. Die Lage im Ort ist toll - mittendrin und trotzdem ruhig, alles ist zu Fuß zu erreichen. Parken kann man leider nicht vor der Tuer. Wir haben immer bei Tregunnel geparkt (600m), wo es nachts erlaubt und umsonst war und Tags über die App bezahlt. Wenn wir nochmal nach Newquay fahren, dann ins Gull Cottage, das war einfach toll.

Hello, I'm Karen. I grew up in Newquay. 21 years ago, I met a Canadian, fell in love and I now live in Ontario, Canada. This is also my home. Don't worry, a handpicked local (Newquay) team are on hand to help with any queries and pride themselves on preparing a clean property for you when you arrive.

During my own stays at the Little Gull Cottage I am always work towards improving the sustainability of this little cottage, something close to my heart.

Why they chose this property

Little Gull Cottage maybe small but it has big heart.

Sustainability is something we strive to improve constantly. The cottage is heated and cooled by the most efficient air-sourced heat pump. Shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and washing up liquid are now refilled. Our amenity packs include 100% recycled bin bags and cellulose dishcloths (toilet rolls/paper towels 100% recycled paper). We recycle ALL of our recycling waste through a private company. We may be imperfect, but we try hard.

Much of the furniture you see around comes from Marketplace. Local artists are always on the top of my list when it comes to buying art for Little Gull Cottage.

Guests who bring their dogs will be welcomed with two dog beds, dog bowls, and recycled cotton towels just for your dog after a beach walk, as well as some dog treats.

What makes this property unique

On a quiet private street, you'll find this charming fisherman's cottage. Imagine being close to everything; the harbour, beaches, shops, cafes, restaurants, even a Sainsbury's supermarket! And yet, this was one of the town's first street, a little piece of history. Location is everything.

As a wild swimmer - I will provide maps and info at the cottage on local swimming spots (only the locals know).
