Meridian District Stay

The apartment was very clean and quiet during our stay. We enjoyed the walkability of all restaurants, shops, park and the Bridge in the Meridian District. We stayed Thursday- Monday morning and had no issues with noise or anything concerning. We really enjoyed our stay in the area!

Great option to stay in Yankton

Great apartment in downtown Yankton that was close to eating places, bars, coffee shops and Missouri River park. Apartment had everything we needed. Good kitchen, comfortable bed, great shower, good air conditioning, spacious lounge and dining area. Loved the extra touches of coffee machine with pods and full spice rack. Would definitely recommend.

All the comfort of home

Loved it! Comfortable bed, lovely kitchen with everything you need to make meals when you bring groceries in. The Keurig and coffee pods are a nice touch as is the full rack of spices. I felt right at home and will book here again when we are in the area.

Nice location

Everything was as promised. No smoking in our apartment but in the hallway it smelled every time of wacky weed. And the coffee maker would not work. So we had to go out for morning coffee.

Great place for the price

This is great place to stay downtown Yankton, it takes 5 min to get anywhere in this town. It was very clean and homey. Will suggest updating pictures there was a queen bed instead of bunk beds in one of the rooms. Paper towels and extra toilet paper is a MUST for guests more than 4 people. I would suggest adding mirrors in each room, 4 women sharing one bathroom mirror isn’t enough. 😉 Overall this VRBO is a great place, we will come back!

Perfect downtown location

We stayed here for our daughter’s wedding in downtown Yankton. It was perfect because it was within walking distance. The apartment itself was very clean. Hallways and stairway leading to the property were a little dirty, especially the carpets. We had multiple units in this building reserved. This particular one was not quite as up to date with furnishings and decor as others. But still a very comfortable place to stay. I would definitely return, especially for a downtown Yankton event.

Terrible do not stay here

Inaccurate description of accessibility. Inaccurate description of no smoking. Filthy and dangerous entry. The entry is off a street which was torn up with construction. Not only had to park over a block away but either had to walk through construction site or walk 2 blocks to a dark sunlight side door. The steps to the second floor were steep and dirty. The hallway looked as though a dead body was drug down the hall. The second you entered the building you Were hit with terrible smoke smell the other two people which were to share the apt decided not to stay due to breathing issues with the smoke. The bedding mattress cover was filthy with what looked like soot or mild. When I reached out on Saturday Am to complain about the smoke smell and inconvenience it caused our trip and the added expense for b all the parties involved I received no resolution. Ben just said he’d text the other two apts on the floor and remind them it was no smoking. Terrible ! Don’t stay here we not only had to deal with the filth and smoke but we never felt safe. This stay caused our group to pay double since they couldn’t stay.

Adequate

I contacted the person via the email listed for the property before we checked in with questions and I never got a response. The street the unit was on was closed and it was difficult to determine where we could park overnight. We did find a parking lot however it would have been wonderful for the owner to have forewarned us of the street closing and if the city would have allowed on street parking on 3rd street overnight. Initial evaluation-unpleasant. Outside the entry door were a dirty mat, cigarette butts, and an open door with smelly garbage cans. Once in the stairway was as described tho steeper than I expected-19 steps. The unit door threshold(grey rubber) was loose and a trip hazard. The unit was clean, neat, and as expected for a very old building. The floors were solid. The paint was white and fresh. The kitchen provided what was needed with the exception of there being 1 dish towel & no hand towel; there was no dishwasher so dishes were hand washed.. The BR had no shower gel and no facial tissue. There were adequate bath towels tho limited face towels. There were no instructions how to lock the unit when leaving which resulted in a call to the contact person who instructed us how to lock it up. When leaving this morning the door would not lock though we tried repeatedly. Overall the rental met "minimum needs" per my husband. However we would not rent it again.
