About Owner/Manager

I grew up in upstate New York, working on my brother's hay farm during the summers. I've been in Virginia since 1989 and run an IT firm, a federal contractor.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2002

Why Owner/Manager chose Central Virginia

This house is not a typical cabin. It is a fully appointed house, a peaceful getaway on a working hay and horse farm. The trainers work on gentling wild mustangs for the Bureau of Land Managment. With miles of trails, you can hike, walk through the woods and enjoy a peaceful setting in the country.

What makes this house unique

Quiet, peaceful farm setting, woods and fields with trails for hiking, fenced back yard.

Nice getaway not too far from home.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay, our 13 month old loved waking up and seeing the horses so close and they were so friendly as was the staff. We were able to explore the property and the foilage was starting. Our dog enjoyed the horses as well and being in the fenced in portion of the yard was great for him to roam free as well. It was a great getaway and is still close enough to other attractions as well like breweries, orchards and wineries. Would definitely visit again and recommend!

Great Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I had a very relaxing time. It was just what we needed. The house was perfect on a farm and is very quiet. You can step out the front door and be right in the pasture or the stable.... your choice. The area is surrounded by wineries and breweries making a day out in the country that much more perfect! We were also thankful that the owner worked with us last minute to get us in....thank you!

Wonderful Vacation Spot for the Family

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a place close to Charlottesville UVA for football games and close to the Vineyards and Presidents homes. I found Pauls' house and was very surprised by the hospitality by the owner and his property managers. The cabin is very spacious and had all I needed to prepare our meals. The pastures with horses really sets this mood. Come here for a vacation if you are looking for a stress free location and plenty of time to relax and enjoy all that Charlottesville and Lake Anna have to offer. Close to Richmond International Airport fly in and rent a car.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin and surrounding farm were beautiful, and the people very hospitable and friendly. The owner of the property, Paul, was very accommodating and helped get us in a day early on very short notice. Unfortunately, it was a death in the family that brought us there, but we will definitely be back under happier circumstances to better enjoy all that this rental has to offer.

Beautiful cozy cabin in a wonderful setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin in December to visit Charlottesville and Lake Monticello. It's close enough to Charlottesville ( about 25 minutes) and several wineries that we visited. It's a wonderful cabin with all the amenities you could want, including a huge fenced in back year that my two dogs loved! We enjoyed the horses, goats, and donkeys that surround the pastures around the house. Everyone we met on the farm was friendly and polite, and provided us with lots of information about the animals and the workings of the farm. We regularly rent through VRBO, and this was one of our very favorite places. It was a fabulous weekend and I recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away to a unique setting.

Summer on the Farm

  • 5 of 5

We were in between houses and the turned out to be perfect for us as we needed a furnished location that allowed dogs - we have three.

The farm staff are terrific - very helpful and mindful of our presence while they went about the day to day running of the farm. And the exposure to the horses was quite an interesting experience for us
