This groovy wee house is yours to enjoy for the duration of your visit, it is a newly created stand alone board and baton home that is next to the main house on the property. If you are looking for a rest and restoration or an active weekend, then this will meet your needs. Staying here is easy. You can venture to Waihi Beach, to Athenree Hot Pools, or enjoy cycle trails and walks to isolated bays. The restaurants and cafes are within 10 minutes and will add to your experience. Your host is a licensed taxi operator so is available to take you to your destinations whilst staying here.
Our landscaping is just beginning - and will evolve each month, at the moment you have estuary views across the road and paddocks.
This is a very tranquil setting and allows our guests to really recharge their energy.

Having traveled and lived in many places in the world, Maggie has chosen Athenree to settle and start her healing retreat.

The energy and the speed of life in Athenree and Waihi Beach is very conducive to a healing environment.
Heron's Rest offers that romantic getaway for couples as well as that healing and restorative space for those who are just burnt out and need to cleanse and replenish their energy.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
Maggie and Carlene are excited to combine the principals of Angel Healing and Jin shin jyutsu ( an ancient Japanese Healing Art) as healing experiences for guests at Herons Rest . It was through working together we found it to be a truly transformative experience; so much so we decided to combine our services to offer others a very unique restorative experience .
Thus is what Carlene says …
Maggie opened my mind to the infinite possibilities to healing . I was attracted to Maggie’s unique gift . She uses ancient mystic language along with her unique alto tone voice to work in harmony with your angels as you lie/lay peacefully on a comfortable table . At times during the session there are great crescendos and long periods of note holding during which in this time healing is taking place. A truly restorative, uplifting and magical experience… It was this experience that we decided to come together to offer a package where you may feel as rejuvenated, harmonised and energised as we did.

Carlene calls it , gentle touch therapy. The art of harmonising, mind, body and spirit . She says it is the daily stresses of life that block our life energy . it is then that attitudes or physical “projects” develop. Jin shin jyutsu help release those blockages and allow the body to heal itself. As I lay fully clothed on the massage table Carlene’s manner instantly made me feel at ease. The treatment was deeply relaxing and peaceful. A project I have had seemed to melt away and I came away feeling rejuvenated, energised and had an inner calmness about me
