The Rocket House design was based on the chalets of the snowfields, which is a bit quirky considering it's situated in a beachside town. It's located in a quiet street overlooking the stunning, ever-changing Otways to the front, glimpses of the Marengo reef at the rear; abundant natural light streaming in from all directions.

Set in a serene street surrounds a short stroll to the beach, beautiful ocean, and mountain views. This beautiful snow field-inspired chalet is sure to have you feeling relaxed the moment you walk in the door.

Guests have access to the entire property for duration of their visit. The only exception to this is where a garage or room has been locked due to storing possessions of the property owner. We ask that guests respect this boundary and do not attempt to enter any locked areas.

We also have a Nespresso coffee machine ready for you. Please bring your preferred pods for your stay.

Your beloved pets are very welcome to the property. We have side gates to ensure they are safe. We just ask that they do not go on the furniture and clean up after them. We know your stay isn't complete without your beloved pooch, & we appreciate your consideration for the guests after you who may not have animals & our high levels of hygiene practices. Thank you.

Enjoy this beautiful, thriving seaside town! You have an extensive range of cafes and restaurants in town and an array of boutiques and gift shops for a spot of retail therapy. Rest and relaxation is made easy with everything just at your fingertips. You can soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the regular festivals and events hosted by Apollo Bay or head off the beaten track on one of the varied walks on the beach or in the rainforest Apollo Bay has to offer. Enjoy Tastes of the Region at our local Brewhouse, or indulge in a delightful treat at our famous bakery.

It is very easy to navigate around the Apollo Bay region by car and plentiful parking in town. The Apollo Bay to Colac bus departs every Wednesday and daily return service from Apollo Bay to Melbourne via Geelong (bus to Geelong followed by Vline train to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne). The Vline bus from Geelong to Apollo Bay includes a stop at Skenes Creek. Marengo is about a 25-minute walk or short taxi ride from the center of town. Hordern Vale is a bit further along the Great Ocean Road and easier to access by car. It is possible to get there via taxi also.

Apollo Bay provides all of the services and amenities of any main town, including the hospital, vet, police, and fire brigade. You will find contact details for these in the Great Ocean Road Escapes compendium at your property.

Please do not forget to take your shoes off when entering the house. And if you are bringing your dog and pets, it is a must to bring Dog Sheets to put on furniture and stairs. We also encourage everyone to bring their pets' own beddings. Please clean up after your pets too. Thank you so much.
