About this property
Fox Den | Pet Friendly, Sun Deck, Hot Tub, Pool
Perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation with another couple, Fox Den offers plenty of peace and privacy in a lush wooded setting. At the same time, the pet-friendly cabin is just minutes from the excitement of downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And if you like to golf, youβll love that Fox Den is just down the road from the award-winning Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by legendary golfer Gary Player.
Like the golf course, Fox Den is located in Gatlinburgβs private Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which in turn is set within a 1,000-acre resort with 24-hour security. When you stay here, youβll have free access to the communityβs tennis courts and, in the summer, its three swimming pools.
In all seasons youβll be able to soak in Fox Denβs private hot tub, located on the log cabinβs spacious deck. As you luxuriate among the steamy bubbles, you can listen to the mountain breeze whisper among the towering trees, and at night you can gaze up at the canopy of stars. Itβs a treat for the senses that youβll never forget.
If you prefer to do your stargazing outside the hot tub, you have your choice of stretching out on one of the deckβs 2 chaises or sitting at its patio table. The table, which seats 4, also enables you to enjoy your meals outdoors, with the singing of warblers and sparrows as your background music. You can cook outdoors too, on the charcoal grill.
Of course, you can cook and eat indoors as well. Fox Denβs dining tableβso beautifully figured and carved that itβs a piece of artβseats 4 with room to spare. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, gadgets and tableware. Thereβs even a dishwasherβafter all, nobody wants to scrub dishes when he or she could be basking in a hot tub instead!
Beamed ceilings, wood-plank walls, live-edge wood tables, and plenty of images of foxes (of course) and other fauna give Fox Den a cozy, welcoming ambience. Nowhere is that vibe more apparent than in the living area. Within a stacked-stone wall is a wood-burning fireplace that will cast the room in a warm, golden glow. Deep, well-cushioned seating invites you to kick back and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV, surf the web via the free Wi-Fi, curl up with a book, or simply enjoy a quiet drink with that special someone.
Another spot where you can unwind with that special someoneβor treat yourself to some alone timeβis in the master bedroomβs spacious whirlpool tub. Even if your muscles ache from an especially strenuous hike, after a lazy soak in the tub youβll feel both rejuvenated and relaxedβ¦ and maybe in the mood for romance as well.
In addition to the whirlpool, the primary bedroom includes a king-size bed. The second bedroom, in the loft, features a queen-size bed. The upstairs bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom, in which is located a washer and a dryer for extra convenience.
And speaking of convenience, thereβs Fox Denβs location, close to all that Gatlinburg has to offer. In just 15 minutes you can be downtown, where youβll find everything from an aquarium to the Guinness World Records Museum, thrill rides to mini golf. Also nearby are the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops, and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area. And donβt forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which you can explore by foot, by bike, on horseback, or by car.
When you stay at Fox Den, youβll be near all the action, yet youβll feel blissful away from the hubbub. Sounds perfect, doesnβt it? So go ahead and book your stay todayβ¦ before someone else beats you to it!

Thank you for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic getaway with us. We are glad you enjoyed the clean and cozy cabin and the privacy it offers. It's wonderful to know that you had a memorable time with your family. We hope to welcome you back to unwind and reconnect with nature soon.
Me and my kids enjoyed our stay. It was a nice get away. We recently lost our house and everything in it to a fire so it was a nice escape from everything for awhile. Would definitely stay here again if we go again in the future.
Excellent stay all around! Great cabin, very private, great amenities. We had to call for some maintenance and it was a super simple process and they took care of the issues at our earliest convenience.

Relaxing mountain stay
Enjoyable and expensive. The cabin had a good price but doing everything in Gatlinburg was a bit more expensive dive than we anticipated.
Beautiful surroundings !! But very expensive for the size of the cabin !!
I liked the cabin surroundings were great but fir the size of the cabin I think it was overpaid!!! Last year I rented one bigger and cheaper than this one !!! Overall enjoyed the place!!!

Odd i got this review request a year after our stay... i believe ive already completed this. From what i recall there were no issues. We enjoyed our stay.
There was construction, trash was already full when we got there.

Nice Cabin, close to Gatlinburg
The cabin was very nice, well maintained and ample dishes, linens and etc. However,
the master bed was terrible (the reason for only 3 stars). The mattress was so bad it sagged at least 6-8" in the middle. It was so bad we had to sleep in the loft bed the 2nd and 3rd nights.

No privacy for couples.
The cabin by itself was wonderful. We had another couple with us for a couples weekend. There is no privacy for either couple. I was under the impression with the photos provided that there was 2 bedrooms( which there was) but no privacy. This cabin is great for a family. Also the mattresses on both bed are terrible. Definitely recommend new ones.

Property was beautiful. Check in process was not available before trip. We had to call VRBO for code
The property and location were beautiful. However I would suggest the host be more readily available as we were unable to obtain check in processes. We had to call VRBO just before arriving to retrieve door codes. Also additional toiletries would be a great addition. There was a bat in the home the first night we stayed. We blocked the fire place to avoid additional occurrences. Overall the home was lovely.

Not at all like the photos
This property was so much smaller than it seemed in the pictures and offered no privacy (sorry a curtain to separate the living room and master is not privacy). We rent in Gatlinburg several times a year, by far the worst cabin we have stayed in. Will be going to back to company we usually rent from!
Great location where it is super peaceful and beautiful.
Pros: Wonderful views. Peaceful. Loved being a few miles away from Gatlinburg so we really felt like we were in the mountains. Got to see a bear and some other wildlife. The deck is big and lovely to sit out on and just listen to the quietness.
Cons: The cabin itself is small, cramped, and very dark. Even with the blinds open and all the lights on, it was still dark on sunny days. Most of the jets in the hot tub do not work. The carpet is old, stained, and has an odor.
We really enjoyed the property the location everything was great. The only issues we had the wife needed a blow dryer there was no cleaning supplies to just wipe down counters after cooking and after the third day of using the hot tub we noticed an odor and water getting cloudy
Nice, cozy, comfy cabin for 2 adults and 2 small dogs! Loved the fireplace! Had plenty of area outside to walk the dogs. We grilled out twice. Overall great stay for a great price!!
The pictures were very accurate! It was a cute, two bedroom, cozy cabin. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the front porch rockers. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Fox Den! Thank you for hosting our family:)

Having the chance to host guests like you is the best part of our day, Kari! Thanks for making the Fox Den Cabin your home away from home.
When we got to the cabin, the hot water tank had busted at the bottom. The water was everywhere. They kept us outside until 9 (check in is at 4) waiting while they cleaned up. They did and the rest of the trip was good.

Pictures can be deceiving
The pictures are deceiving. The amount of space in the living area is almost nonexistent. The cabin overall is very dated. Definitely not good for more than one small family, there is basically no privacy in the downstairs master room or the loft.
