The owner/manager was very responsive and worked to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The living areas are roomy and the views of the water are spectacular. Very peaceful and calming atmosphere and close to Acadia National Park for hiking, biking, and exploring. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous location on the bay. Could have just stayed on the property exclusively if not for so many other gorgeous things to see within 20/30 minutes or less drive. Pet friendly for sure.
Water, water everywhere!
Best sun/moon sets are right from the property.
Worthy of one sunset, 10 minute drive.
She loved the views.

The house was nice, very clean and the host was super responsive when I had questions. House was well stocked. Views are amazing.

The house was very comfortable and the views were spectacular! The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed and more. The bed was so comfortable. It was the perfect retreat from the crowds in Acadia and Bar Harbor. Wonderful lobsters at Thurstons nearby. We highly recommend this cozy retreat.

This was our second stay at Gray Barn. We just love it here! The house is so peaceful, clean, and comfortable. The upstairs loft is one of our favorite places to hang out and watch the tide and wildlife. The kitchen is well-appointed with everything you need to make a great breakfast before hiking. The wall of windows downstairs lets in so much natural light, it's a pleasure to read in that room after a long day of hiking. Lauren is such a thoughtful host and always checks in on us. Overall, five stars!

This is our 2nd stay at the Gray Barn. Love the quiet location. Love watching the tides in the harbor change. The house is well stocked and comfortable. It’s quite nice having plenty of room to spread out. When we return, we will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Carriage House

We had a lovely stay at the Gray Barn Carriage House. It was so quiet and peaceful! The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was large and comfy, and there were plenty of reading nooks and sofas to relax on after a day on the hiking trails. We miss it already.

We Loved Our Stay!

This beautiful renovated barn is perfectly appointed. The lovely blonde wood floors, rustic beams, white walls and abundant windows make for bright cheerful surroundings. It has very comfy yet stylish furniture, the perfect sized kitchen, and beautiful views. The loft was actually one of our very favorite spaces, but the sunroom/dining room was also so cozy. We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a beautiful property with great water views. We appreciated how many things were available in the kitchen and the open main floor layout. We travelled with an active toddler and 9 year old. The baby gates the owner had available for the top of each set of stairs were absolutely essential for the toddler's safety. We brought an additional pressure mounted one which was very helpful to block off the hallway to the second set of stairs. The house is not "baby proof" (wouldn't expect it to be!) but the gates are the biggest thing that made the home toddler friendly for our trip. An available high chair was also very appreciated. The guest book that visitors have filled out is a treasure and was great for ideas of things to do. We didn't use the grill or deck because the mosquitos are pretty bad this time of year (but that's most anywhere in Maine along the water). Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

About 35 min from Acadia. Some good local restaurants. House clean, bedrooms warm though. Local grocery stores close by 7pm on Sunday FYI if you are coming in late. Quiet location.

It's a KEEPER!

I hate the SEARCH for a home more than anything. For Acadia, this is our new HOME, search over! Ductless AC, Comfy Beds, Nice linens, LOVELY area of the island with an open view of the pretty, ocean inlet, lots of windows but great blinds for privacy, and good WiFi and cell for us. Bathroom is challengingly tight and water pressure low, but good, softened water is like home to us! Didn't understand it was all 2nd and 3rd floor, but we're up to it. Lauren was responsive, easy to communicate with. This is our 1st choice for Acadia vacations! Bump the water pressure up some and we'll be ecstatic!
