Wonderful stay. The kitchen was so well equipped you can have so many family meals with all the utilities you need. Dual wood fireplaces kept us warm and cozy all weekend. The multiple beds and bathrooms made it easy for large groups to feel comfortable. Mountain Mama hosts were easy to reach for all inquiries.
Great cabin surrounded by nature and a killer view. Fit 8 adults!
Great family room for puzzle making and watching the Olympics.

This property was perfect for our peaceful retreat. Traveling with babies can always be daunting, but i was pleasantly surprised by all the baby amenities at the cabin. There were baby plates, bowls, and utensils. Even though we did plan ahead and bring our own highchairs, we did notice there were actually options for highchairs at the cabin already! Also, the host was amazingly quick and friendly with all communication.

Absolutely Beautiful!

We had such an amazing time in West Virginia! The cabin was spacious and had all the amenities. It was close to everything and it was easy to get to. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of NYC.

Wonderful experience! Great house, nice linens, fully equipped kitchen, helpful House Manual and very responsive host. The house had plenty of space for our group of 6 women. Comfortable beds and places to read, talk or paly games. Great hiking opportunities nearby. Fabulous view! We hope to return next year.

Beautiful property with amazing views. This place has great views and great character. Only stayed one night but definitely enjoyed our time!

Gorgeous property with comfortable beds and furnishings. Just about every room, with windows, has a great view! Good proximity to local attractions. Property managers are nice.

Great stay

The property was very nice with lots to do. The house setup was a bit different than expected but still fun and enjoyable. Several places to hang out and enjoy our time with lots of entertainment options. Would definitely book again in the future!

BEST WEEKEND EVER!

My friends and I stayed here for my 30th birthday and it was genuinely the best weekend ever. The home was sparkling clean, the property was incredible, and the hosts were amazing. We had such a fantastic time and we will definitely be coming back!

Family of 5 Excursion

The property was clean with beautiful and picturesque views. It very comfortably had room fornour family, but we also could have been comfortable with extended family there as well. Would love to come back again!

A beautiful home and a wonderful time!

My friends and I had the best time staying here! The home is exactly as described, with LOTS of space. It was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped and even had some basic spices. It was sadly quite cloudy and rainy while we were there, but when the clouds and haze dissipated the view was incredibly (the master bath also has a very delightful forest view). Overall a great place, thanj you!!

What a great Father’s Day get away weekend with plenty of amenities to ensure an unforgettable and fun filled vacation with our family. The house was intriguing and filled with charm, stain glass windows, games, a projector screen and a keyboard with spectacular views from every window! We could not have asked for more with options for our guests: the game room, hot tub and fire pit! The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. Just a heads up the road leading to the house is winding and narrow and the driveway fairly steep.

The host, Mountain Mama, was great on communication throughout our stay. However, we had several serious issues with appliances and electronic devices. Some of them being health hazards and at least one of them a safety hazard. Although Mountain Mama sent out maintenance people to deal with the issues, the problems were not fully resolved during our stay.
Unbeatable view from the balcony.
A track light IN the master shower, 5" above the shower head.
Smelly, filthy dishwasher with mold and congealed grease on the inside. Of course we hand washed all dishes during our stay.
Iced over, rusty fridge in the studio, making the whole room smell like mold. Took 4 days to thaw out the fridge. Unusable.

Hey Nic, thank you for your patience as we did our best to resolve the issues you mentioned. The dishwasher has been replaced since your stay--I'm sorry we couldn't get it done before you checked out! That track light in the shower has been there since before the current owner purchased the property, however, we went ahead and removed it. That old fridge/freezer unit in the suite is not meant to be plugged in or used by guests. Since that was not clear before we have added a label to the unit itself and added extra language to the guidebook. I hope you will give us another shot in the future!

Great mountain house

This was a really nice place for our family, ages from 2 to 70. Plenty of places in the house to gather as well as plenty of places for privacy and solitude when you need it. Well maintained, cozy, quiet and everything you might need. View of the valley and sunsets are beautiful. Hot tub a nice bonus. As was the garage for times when the little kids needed space to be wild and blow off steam. Note: Last few miles of road to the cabin are steep for sure. If driving in winter weather be prepared.

A wonderful stay

This is one of the best rentals I've stayed at in the area -- the listing really undersells how nice your experience will be. The house balances being completely modern (well-stocked, everything working, and very clean) while retaining a unique character (many cozy little berths to hang out in, interesting things to discover on the shelves, mountain home feeling). Our stay was very comfortable and the views of Shannondale Lake are incredible. A couple things to note that don't factor into my rating: (1) the onboarding process with this company is a little more stringent than a typical rental (for example, a government ID scan was required) but the process was easy and the host was responsive. (2) There are a lot of narrow staircases involved in getting to any of the major areas in the house -- people that are less mobile may have some trouble navigating. We had a great weekend here and we'll definitely be back!

Cute cabin with some quirks

We stayed here with 4 adults & 6 kids over a long weekend. We had a wonderful overall stay.-Check-in/communication with hosts was very easy. Hosts provided all linens, towels, hot-tub towels, soaps, bath products, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. This was fantastic!-Views were terrific. Area is quiet and peaceful but close to outdoor activities such as hiking and the Harper’s Ferry National Historic Park.-Outdoor spaces including the garage game room were wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub, had a fire one night and roasted s’mores, and just sat and took in the view. The kids loved the ping-pong table and basketball hoop.-The kitchen was well stocked. We could have used more small spoons for ice cream but otherwise nothing was lacking.If I had the choice to give half-stars, I would have given the property an overall rating of 4.5. A few minor things that we felt like detracted from the overall experience:-The water pressure in the master shower was weak and the shower head was positioned so even though the shower was large, it was difficult to adequately shower.-Only mirror in the master bath is over the toilet! Had to shave in a different room.-Upstairs area is a bit crowded sharing 1 bath.-4th bathroom only has a tub. Adults and older kids couldn’t bathe here.-Layout is a bit quirky. Be sure to read description carefully.-Would prefer more deck furniture to enjoy view.Overall truly enjoyed our stay & hosts were very professional. House had character.

We stayed here recently (3 adult couples and 4 kids) and had an amazing time. The view was gorgeous, the house was very spacious and clean and had all of the amenities you could ask for. We loved the fire pit, the hot tub and the game room for entertainment. The hosts were wonderful at checking in to see if we needed anything and responding when we had questions. We visited the Harpers Ferry Waterpark followed by Harpers Ferry brewing while we were there. Would love to return and explore more of the area! If we did, we would love to stay here or one of the other Mountain Mama cabins.

Absolutely perfect house for a family to relax and enjoy each other. We felt like we were staying in our own family home - just so comfortable. They had everything you’d need- games, extra blankets for watching tv, books, fire pit, foosball, ping pong….,.. I can’t say enough about this house - it was perfect !!!!
