Great spot to enjoy Halifax, amazing views

If you are looking to spend 3+ days in Halifax, this is an amazing place to stay. Coming for work and bringing my family for the cooler weather, we were torn whether to stay here or downtown at a hotel on the water. Bottom line, it was very easy to get downtown when we wanted for meals and shopping and strolling, and we were very glad we chose this spot. The pool for warm weather and view during the day and the hot tub and a view for cooler weather at night. No hotel could compete with that. The host, Dan, goes out of his way to support you and make you feel welcome. I’d never thought about Halifax as a travel destination, but I’d definitely like to make it back and will definitely stay here again if we do.

We booked Seacliff for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was everything we hoped for and more. The host provided so many thoughtful touches, including a great selection of coffee, soft drinks, and a fully stocked kitchen. The views were absolutely spectacular. We spent hours watching seals, sailboat races, cruise ships, and freighters go by, and loved having the telescope to get a closer look. The welcome binder was very helpful for figuring out how everything worked around the house. We really enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the ocean, and the boathouse was another special place to relax. The outlook above the house gave us yet another amazing view.We didn’t have a car, but that wasn’t a problem. Uber to and from Halifax was easy and very reasonable. We highly recommend Seacliff to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway by the sea.

The house is beautiful but very challenging unless you are in great shape. The driveway was very steep, too scary for most to drive up, and when parking down below its steep hike to the door. Also has lots of stairs inside the house. So unless you are very fit we don’t recommend. House got pretty warm as the only air conditioner was in the kitchen plus a roll around portable in the master bedroom. At a price point of 12k for a week this is not expected . The Host was great and added lots of free goodies throughout the house and even sent over someone to help get luggage down the stairs.

Thank you for your thoughtful review and your kind words about the home, our hospitality, and the welcome amenities. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Seacliff is built into a dramatic oceanfront hillside to maximize the panoramic views of Halifax Harbour. Because of the unique setting, the property does include stairs as do most multi level homes, and we make every effort to show this clearly in our photos and listing description so guests can determine whether it’s the right fit for their group. Regarding the bedroom, it is equipped with a portable air conditioner that is intentionally sized for the space and cools the room effectively, even though it isn’t a traditional built-in unit. We appreciate your feedback and are always happy to answer questions before booking to ensure Seacliff is the perfect match for each guest.
