Head out to the Sam Houston National Forest for a hike or take the pedal boats out for a spin on the lake. - NOTE: This single-story home features an on-site ramp that allows for step-free access. While stairs are required to access the lake via the patio, there is an alternative route down a small path on the side of the property through the front door that does not require any steps
- NOTE: Your safety matters. This property features 6 exterior security cameras. Camera 1 is on the tree in front of the property facing the front door and shed, camera 2 is under the front porch facing the front outdoor entry, camera 3 is on the back patio facing the back outdoor entry, camera 4 is on the back of the house facing the backyard, camera 5 is on the dock structure facing the dock, and camera 6 is located on a tree in the backyard facing the generator. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras record video and sound when activated by motion
- NOTE: Our home features a beautiful lake view. The lake is naturally fed by the Trinity River, so its water levels can vary depending on the weather. If there’s heavy rain, the water may rise, and during dry periods, it may lower. This is a natural occurrence beyond the control of the homeowner
- NOTE: The lake is perfect for recreational activities like fishing, kayaking, and paddle boating. However, our property is not equipped to handle large boats. If you plan to bring your own, please refer to the map and guidelines in the guestbook provided for safe navigation
- NOTE: The yard slopes down to the street

We had great time there, the house was clean and neat. It was nice to spend time outside too, fishing and kayaking.The kids loved it as well for the game room.

Great summer getaway

This place was perfect for our large group! Beds were comfortable and all the amenities were awesome!! It was so great to have all the activities available right there. The view from the huge porch is incredible!

Cute place.

Plenty of activities for all the kids. However there were a lot of fragile decorations around we had to hide so the kids wouldnt break them. The lake was nice and full and easy to launch the pedal boats and kayaks from the dock. The older kids had a blast pedalling around. The place feels secluded and woody. Great stay.

Good time

This location is well priced for the type of property it is. The kayaks and the paddle boats added to the overall fun of our experience at this location. The kitchen was well stocked with everything a family needed. A lot of work went into the detail of the decorations in this house. The interior was very clean and comfortable.

Low water

The house was great!! Didnt know water wasnt deep enough for boat which we brought so couldnt tie off to our dock for easy access. Also couldnt find key for boat launch, and it needs to he advertised of nothing local (close) to do. Everything good to do is 30 min away or further!! Thank you.

Beautiful Home and Property

Wonderful home, very welcoming, clean, and all necessities provided. We had a great time, nicely secluded for our get together. We did plan to bring our boat but noticed on google maps the access point to the river seemed too small. For anyone thinking of bringing a boat, please note there is no lake access from this home's dock. You must drive around to a lake entrance dock. There is a canoe available for the renters use but the water was only about 12" deep at the time of our stay so we paddled around but got stuck on the bottom multiple times. Other than the boat issue this was a wonderful home to rent and we really enjoyed it!

Loved the Layout and Beds

I think the best part of this rental is the advantage of multiple Queen size beds instead of too many twins, fulls and sofa beds. It had a nice big kitchen with lots of counter space and all kinds of pots, pans, pitcher, serving bowls.. everything!Parking picture online is not what it looks like. At first I steered away from the rental because the parking picture made it look like a big commercial lodge but that picture is showing a very small parking area but we managed to fit 4 cars fine. Expect holes in the back yard, little lighting on the stairs in back and the firepit is actually a property burn pile so think twice before you roast marshmallows or cook anything on it. Our first night we burned off some yard debris, treated lumber and fiberglass before we felt safe doing marshmallows the second night.If you bring a pet, make sure they know. Their pet fee is separate from their "fees" on this rental. Even though we filtered VRBO for a pet and mentioned our pet in our message, we got a call to charge us a pet fee within an hour after arrival because they saw our dog on the security camera.

We recently stayed at this rental property on the Trinity River and were disappointed by the overall condition of the outdoor areas and lack of maintenance, which significantly impacted our experience. The front and back yards were severely overgrown. The bushes along the front porch were so unkept it was impossible to sit and enjoy the space, which was a real letdown. The backyard was essentially unusable due to the tall grass, and the side path leading down toward the water was not navigable—especially difficult for older guests in our group. Between the shed and house, there was visible junk scattered around, which was both unappealing and unsafe. Under the deck was cluttered with garbage (including old beer bottles), and the trellis meant to hide that area was poorly constructed with large gaps, exposing all the mess and making it a total eyesore. The grill provided was rusty and unusable, but thankfully we brought our own. The boats were not stored properly—instead of being on the dock, they were flipped over in the grass, extremely dirty, and obviously neglected. There was also a dock washed up and left in a junk pile next to the boat storage shed. There was a cut-in-half water tote filled with stagnant water and lilies growing in it. This not only looked bad but was a clear mosquito breeding ground. This should be removed. Inside, the house layout was good and the five bedrooms worked well. The house has potential if given some TLC and was well maintained.

We want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that’s 100% ready for their stay, and we’re sorry some outdoor areas didn’t meet expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We cleared and trimmed the yard after your stay and organized the outdoor areas so porches and pathways are easier to enjoy.- We refreshed the BBQ setup to ensure it’s guest-ready moving forward.- Recent river storms and flooding caused a large wooden raft to lodge on a fallen tree; we’re waiting for safe water levels to remove it.- Our kayaks and pedal boats are stored upside down intentionally to protect them from rain and falling leaves in our countryside setting, keeping them ready for guest use.- We’re committed to ongoing maintenance and improvements so the outdoor spaces match the comfort of the home inside.Thank you for the thoughtful feedback—we’ll use it to keep improving for future guests!
