About Rachel Robledo
My wife and I purchased our home in Hawaii in 2000. We are pleased to offer this unique Japanese living experience to you when we are away.
Rachel Robledo purchased this House in 2000
Why Rachel Robledo chose Keaau
We looked for several years for a home on the Big Island that we would enjoy living in. The unique Japanese design, quality of construction, open living areas, private and peaceful setting made this home an easy choice for us.
What makes this House unique
This is where my wife and I go to get away from it all. It is easy to forget the normal pressures of everyday life in this private and peaceful setting-our Sanctuary in Paradise! We own the lot across the street from our house. The lot was hand cleared to preserve the natural flow of the lava. Our landscapers have planted many native plants. Guests are welcome to enjoy the 1 acre lot.

Five week Hawaii holiday
The property was as listed. It was an easy two block walk from the ocean. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to all shopping needs, restaurants and activities. If you want to wind down or have a family respite, this rental is most accommodating. The owner is very responsive to every request or need.
All we hoped for!
Beautiful!!! Private, close to ocean, walking sitting in private porch watching gold fish and listening to showers trickle down rain chain is SO relaxing! Close enough to drive to recent flows seen back in mainland. Close to Hilo farmer's market and stores or Pohoa with grocers and dining. We even found a Southern Baptist Church with good pastor and FRIENDLY people! All in all just what we wanted-quiet, beauty, and wonderful owner who had more than covered all our needs!
This was aBeautiful place we enjoyed staying there very much is close to the ocean and also not that far from town either so it was very very peaceful place to be we enjoyed staying there thank you for letting us stay.
Lovely house but take note of exact location
Getting to the house was a challenge as it is deep and away from the main roads. The road to the house is dark at night with no street lights and road is wavy (many ups and downs) and can be blinding at night with other inconsiderate headlights shining at you at high beam. However, bedding is extremely soft and comfortable.
Kitchen amenities can be improved as the house is rather dated with traditional Japanese-style designs with a pretty garden in the middle with a small pond.
Water consumption is limited (as per Owner's request) due to high costs but toilet has bathtub. So irony is there.
Labelling of the house keys would have helped tremendously as we had a tough time figuring out which key was for what. Too many doors and too many keys to deal with.
Enjoysed our stay overall.
Japanese Hawaiian paradise
We were shocked by the beauty of this property. It was impeccably clean and peaceful. The home has unique cultural influence and healing properties. I would recommend this place to all my friends. Great stay and great host!
Our home is close to the Pacific Ocean, water falls, lava flows, hot water pool heated by volcano, and great dining. Some of the above checked activities are available on the Hilo side of the Big Island.
