We arrived to the property at 4pm to check in but the house was not ready, I had to call the the host to send someone to clean the house, we wait about 30 minutes and a lady showed with other guy that was drunk, my wife and our crew help to clean the house, then we wait few more hours because was no clean blankets they took the blankets to wash them, very horrible experience

Nice ocean view. The house was clean and well-stocked with plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable and sturdy, and the washer/dryer worked perfectly. The AC kept the house nice and cool—as long as the front door stayed closed.There were some grass burrs at the lower entrance, which were a bit of a nuisance for both pets and people. The kitchen had all the basic essentials, though you may want to bring any specialty items (i.e. measuring spoons). The blender wasn’t working properly, but the property manager quickly replaced it the next day.Only two large trash bins were provided, so it’s a good idea to bring your own large capacity trash bags. The standard-sized BBQ grill was a great addition for cooking outdoors. Some minor interior wear and tear is noticeable (i.e. worn couches and wall damages, but nothing that kept us from enjoying our family time together.

The house is spacious and has plenty of beds to accommodate large groups. We loved that it’s oceanfront and the family enjoyed the close proximity to the water. The previous group forgot to take their trash out on trash day, so our group got stuck with two full trash bins, and no way to dispose of our trash. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Dirty beds, bad interactions, good location

We had a three-night stay. When we arrived Friday evening, we found that the place could have certainly been cleaner, but that’s in the range of ok / it happens sometimes / the Texas beach environment is hard to keep up with. However, when we went to go to bed, we found that the king bed was dirty. It had a urine stain that was still wet, through the comforter, sheets, and into the mattress. The sheets had hair / fur, dirt, etc. The room smelled. We looked at the other beds, and most of them had clearly been made while still dirty—again, hair, dirt, etc.. There were six of us, so we didn’t need all of the beds, so we remade a couple and started laundry. The king bedroom, however, reeked of urine. It was very hard to sleep. I texted the property POC to say what was going on. In the morning, we found the urine had soaked back up again. In the morning, the POC claimed to be on the way and we kept waiting for the POC to show, but the story kept changing on when they would show and what the holdup was. We lost half a day waiting before saying not to come. The only further contact was asking if we paid the pet fee, which we had. The king bedroom was unusable from the smell and we’d had it. We left a day early. I’ve complained through the prop mgmt website, but never got a response. (I’d have a more detailed version of the story for the rating, especially re the prop mgmt interaction, if there was more space.)

Disgusting

This property was infested with roaches. We came in they were crawling, they were on floor, in cabinet and fridge. There was no toilet paper. The lady thought we were in a different property and tried to make it seem like we were lying. We wanted to stay there but eith bugs how could we. Disappointed and wIti g on refubd and respose still. Had to find hitel in middle of night. why not but

Overall good time. Nice and close to the beach. Owners responded very quickly even on the holiday. Water tastes off so bring bottled water is the only thing i could say. For the cost amazing time.

Not exactly what we expected

We had a family gathering and enjoyed our trip, mainly because we refused to let the rental disappointments ruin our trip. The front balcony is what attracted our attention, but loose spindles on the railing made it impossible to be out there with our toddler. Just fyi, the fees doubled the cost of the rental, and we had to clean the unit ourselves before we left. The house is a little worn and could use updates. It was first advertised as a 7/3 when I booked it, and later changed to 5/3. There were still plenty of bunk beds to sleep everyone, so no big deal for us. The third bath is just a rinse off shower outside and we couldn’t open the door. The bedroom carpets need replacing or at least steam cleaned. The water is not drinkable as it tastes and smells like straight ocean water. Our biggest disappointment was that we were told that we could walk straight out front and be on the sand. In reality, we were at the sea wall and had no convenient way to get down as the walkover was unusable. I don’t know if the tide was up or if the water is always up to the sea wall, but we had to drive down to the drive-on beach a couple of miles down. Not a big deal, but we worked around it. We stayed 4 nights, but won’t rent that unit if we go back. I know that some of these issues were because of my own choices. And some, the owner can’t control. There was a no cancellation policy.

Best place to stay with a large group.

Fantastic view. Fantastic access to the water and beach. Accommodated our huge family. I would definitely stay here again. Lovely management. Clean house. We had a awesome time here.

Quick getaway

My family and l stayed here for a of couple days. The check in process could've been more smooth. We didn't receive the check in code until after 4pm, which was check in time, and we only received it because l ended up reaching out to the owners once 4pm came and went. The property is nice and at a nice location. It's very convenient being able to just walk across straight to the beach. Only one room has a fan, and one room seems to not get any AC as that specific room stayed extremely hot throughout our stay. At one point we lost water. We're not sure what caused it but after an hour or so it came back, so wasn't too big of a deal. The house was clean besides one stained pillow case. There was a broken table on the balcony, and the place could use a new paint job. Overall this place was a good stay for my family and l for just a couple of days, but for the price l feel there should've been more.

2023 Family vacation

We have stayed at this house of Laylas last year. We always have a great time. We only had two problems with the house. There was only one refrigerator this time, and all the door shelves were missing from the one that worked. There was a note stating the broken was awaiting parts. This made it very difficult to store our perishables. We just did the best we could with ice chests. So bring extra ice chests! There were also some banister slats missing off the upper deck and several loose ones. I am letting Layla know so their is not a chance for someone to fall from the upper deck, especially a child we had my 2 yr old granddaughter with us and had to be on constant guard to make sure she or anyone else did not get to close to the deck railing. We placed the small patio tables in front of areas where slats were missing, but one of the tables had a broken tile on it so we just turned it towards the railing and set stuff over it so no one would get cut. Layla is a great hostess and very quick to respond.
