Adventure awaits you in this rustic getaway. Set in the heart of a 120 acre working horse riding property. Set in the beautiful Southern Highlands 5 minutes out of Moss Vale 'Rosthwaite Farm' boasts 5 acres of manicured English gardens, 8 dams and over 70 horses.
The ‘Tin Shed’ has only just been made available to guests after a painstaking renovation over the last couple of years sourcing materials in keeping with the style and architecture of the original building. Actual hardwood timber and corrugated iron from the old milking shed have been incorporated into the high end finishes of the structure to maintain its building's authenticity.
Guests are welcome to roam around the farm and enjoy the gardens or make friends with some of the some 70 odd horses at Rosthwaite Farm. Book a farm ride or a lesson with one of the highly qualified riding instructors available through the reknowned Moss Vale Riding School established by World Cup showjumper - James Arkins.
Enjoy a coffee, lunch or dinner at one of the many establishments in the surrounding villages of Moss Vale, Bowral, Mittagong, Berrima, Sutton Forest, Burrawang, Robertson or Bundanoon or you can just laze about and relax under a tree by the lake and read a book.
If you have friends or extended family wishing to holiday with you we also offer ‘The Stables’’ which is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom converted cottage . For larger groups we also have 3 beautiful 1 bedroom Hideouts scattered around the property. In total we can accommodate 12 guests ; all enjoying their own private accommodation and yet being able to sit around the fire pit together to share a drink; dinner or watch the sun go down after a farm ride around the property. Ideal for a group of wedding guests .

We had a fantastic stay at Rosthwaite Farm. The Milk Shed was clean, well stocked and comfortable. The King sized be and linen were excellent. Great place for a few days to unwind from city life. It was close to all the local country towns as well. The scenery at the farm is beautiful and interacting with the horses special. Highly recommend it.
A birthday surprise for my husband. Relaxing time, playing with horses, dog, plenty of wildlife, star gazing and friendly hosts. Easy checkin. A 5min taxi ride from moss vale makes it accessible if no car
The host was absent during our stay, which given the time of year (xmasnew year) is perfectly understandable. Instructions for check in were sent the day prior to arrival, everything was clearly explained and well organised. The experience was absolutely seamless from check-in to check-out. The room was nicely appointed with lovely internal styling, well matched to the rustic exterior appearance. Small touches like what appears to be an old decanter used as a shade for a hanging light are a personal favourite for me! Would highly recommend as a place for a weekend getaway or a longer stay (5 nights) such as ours. We would love to be back in future.
The Tin Shed at Rosthwait Farms is a quiet, cosy, a refreshing stay in the Southern Highlands. Simple and quick access to Moss Vale, Bowral, and Sutton Forrest - all within 15 minutes drive.A wonderful plot of land to walk around and spend quiet mornings in the sun. The host was highly responsive and helpful with questions and queries.

The tiny home was beautifully appointed, very cozy and everything of top quality. The details were cute with a subtle horse theme throughout.
The horse stud itself is very pretty, not intimidating for non-horsey people like my husband.
Everything was clean, the tiny home had a great bathroom and a super comfy king bed.
Bowral is fantastic for (antique) shopping, golf, food and coffees.
We had a great time away!

So nice and quiet. Great location. Room great and had everything we needed. Would stay again next time we're in the area.
My partner and I stayed 2 nights at Rosthwaite farm. The accomodation was clean and tidy. The property is beautiful with dogs and horses around. We would definitely stay again at Rosthwaite.
The property was beautiful. The horses were quite fun and friendly. Got zapped a few times but we were warned Overall our stay was lovely and quiet as we love our privacy. Highly for horse fans
From the turn into the driveway, everything about the stay was perfect. The cabin was so beautifully and thoughtfully designed, with everything you could need to enjoy a stay. We walked around the property and saw the horses, enjoyed the sunset by the dam, and loved the fire pit in the evening. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for having us 😊

Great little getaway!
Beautiful farm and a convenient location. Check in process was a bit weird but once we found the property and settled, we really enjoyed our stay! It was very clean and cozy. Not sure why it says 'hot tub' under popular amenities as there is no hot tub. There was a power outage that was out of the hosts control and no back up power but the hosts allowed us to stay a little longer once the power was back. Would recommend for a night in the Southern Highlands.
A peaceful retreat with warm amenities - perfect for disconnecting
The Tinshed at Rosthwaite Horse Farm is a great place to disconnect from social media, as there is no wifi and very limited network connection. Upon arrival, it was wonderful to see the horses and the sunset. However, the signage was limited, making it difficult to identify which of the many buildings was the 'Tinshed'. Fortunately, we arrived in daylight and used our best memory to recall what the building looked like. Peter greeted us upon arrival and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities... all very close to the Tinshed, including our favourite finds of Exeter (Market & General Store) and the Farm Place for great coffee, pies and cakes.
The warm floors in both the room and the toilet were a delightful touch, especially during the winter season. The fluffy towels, crisp linen, and ample pillows added to the comfort of our stay.
The kitchen was well-equipped with all the necessary appliances for cooking, including a stove, outdoor BBQ, Nespresso machine, kettle, and microwave. It would have been nice to have some milk and breakfast supplies as an added touch, similar to other places we've stayed at.
The two leather chairs in the living area had a funky, unique design, but they weren't very comfortable for long periods of sitting.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a few minor areas for improvement. If you're looking to disconnect and enjoy a peaceful retreat, this place is a good choice.
