The tropical climate of Soufriere has a rainy season that runs between July and December, with December the wettest.

The town looks out onto the serene waters of Soufriere Bay and the Caribbean Sea. Soufriere sits on the west coast of the island of Saint Lucia, and is situated north of Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. Soufriere abounds with wildlife, from iguanas and agouti to more frightening creatures, such as the boa constrictor and poisonous fer-de-lance. It is home to one of the rarest, and most beautiful, lizards in the world, the St. Lucia Whiptail.
