Property was ideal location for exploring Chester and near some good eateries and supermarkets for stocking up. Having your own parking space a bonus and near train station for travel.We were not satisfied with the property cleanliness. The luxurious condition that host website advertises was well off what we experienced and a list of issues were sent to the host on our return home. They have assured us that this would be looked into and all our issues would be rectified accordingly.

Fantastic stay

Great communication with Jen. This 2 bedroom apartment was super clean and well equipped! We were happy to be so close to the train station. Sitting on the terrace and reading in the sun was a bonus. Would recommend and definitely stay here agsin

A Lovely Week in Chester

This is one of the best stays we have enjoyed in Britain. The home was clean and comfortable, and being right on the canal made this a truly memorable experience. The home managers were friendly and efficient- a great combination and Chester is beautiful and handy to other places nearby.

At home on the canal

Absolutely fantastic location. Everything was so accessible. The property itself is very well proportioned, plenty of space and always good to have two bathrooms. Kitchen is well equipped and whilst I didn't make use of it, the outside space is a bonus. Would be hard to choose anywhere else to stay if visiting Chester.

Enjoying the Canal

We truly enjoyed our time at the canal house. It was wonderful to sit out on deck the to watch canal boats go by, and laughing at the antics of the ducks and moorhen. The place was very neat and very comfortable, with all amenities necessary. The bedrooms were exactly the right size and both had easy access to the washroom! We enjoyed our visit to Liverpool, which was just the right distance from the house. And Chester itself is a very lovely and diverse area!

Great location

A lovely stay - despite the persistent rain! A great location on the canal with parking and close to the rail station, pubs, supermakets and of course the city. The kitchen was good but the pans need replacing and the bathrooms were tired, tho functional, with plenty of hot water. The main rooms were comfortable (except one sofa) and warm but the corridors were cold and the small bedroom a bit chilly - but it was very cold and wet that week.

Chester

While the location to access the city was perfect, the neighborhood and general condition of the property left quite a lot to be desired. Mold in the bathrooms ,dust everywhere,, carpets and furniture were dirty.

Finding the property took a minute; pictures by host would have been appreciated as there were several sets of stairs nearby and every other unit's front door in the building was on a different street from their unit's door. The property was in need of new flooring better suited for high wear as carpet had stains, not placed under baseboards, wrinkled, and was pulling up from seems. Baths needed re-caulking and overall deep clean as things were dusty and dirty in corners. Grout in baths had mold. Outdoor areas were not usable (debris/ clumps of dirt and netting where you couldn't stand). Wardrobes were dirty on the inside and the one in the ensuite was jammed with old crumpled up and stained mattress and duvet covers. The bedsheet in room room didn't fit on the mattress and continually popped off. You don't get a feeling the owners have a close watch on their investment. It feels like a corporation oversees the property with no one of true investment putting eyes on it. We did appreciate the fans in each room since it was July and no top sheets provided; too hot to sleep under a duvet. The ensuite had no windows to open (only sliding glass door where anyone could easily access the unit). Simple things like only 2 hangers provided, or the iron not stored with the ironing board should be remedied as was inconvenient.

Old and tired property.

Certainly would not describe as beautiful, it may have been once. Bed settee you could not sit on as springs completely gone, balcony furniture, very old and not sure safe to sit on. Bed mattress in both rooms, uncomfortable and clearly old..towels old, well used and although clean old stains on them.

Canal House Stay

Excellent location 5 minutes from the railway station or with on site parking.10 minutes from city centre and an embarrassment of excellent restaurants and pubs on the doorstep.Well equipped kitchen but other than that a tired property in need of refurbishment.Main settee has springs almost poking through the material,poor quality towels and duvets.Signs of mould on bathroom tiles.The internet service is weak and intermittent.A property advertised as suitable for 4 persons attracted an avaricious £60 supplement for “additional guests”Entry from the car parking is up a flight of steps which some people may find it difficult to negotiate.

Canal House Chester

The property, which is located along a canal, was lovely and very livable. It is also in an excellent location within easy reach to nearby bars, restaurants, rail station and city centre.

Nice House, Good Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Canal House, the accommodation was lovely with two good sized double bedrooms with comfortable beds, large living room and good kitchen. However both bathrooms suffer with damp having no means of ventilation and the walls were slightly mouldy in the large bathroom (there were windows but they were locked). It really only needed a slight touch up and to get the place up to standard. The outside area, canal frontage, could also do with a tidy up.

Good location but for adults or older kids only

This property is in a prime location, and is of a good specification and cleanliness. Lovely! Caveat for families: The only thing I would say is that whilst it's billed as being suitable for families, and that it does have a parking space, the logistics of getting children and babies and the many MANY bags and cases and belongings they need to bring even on a short 3 day trip in and out of the car (more specially a roof box) and into the house grew tiresome after the 3 days we were there. Husband had to drop us off and pick us up at the front door every time we wanted go go anywhere. On the morning of leaving he had to try and fill up the roof box with a set of step ladders, whilst parked outside the front door(which is no parking in the day time) with a parking attendant stood there watching him in a rain/hail storm. The alternative was to make easily 15 trips locking and then repening the car and roof box and steps, carrying everything up and down a large flight of stairs to the car park. The other thing I would say for families is that if your kids are accustomed to sleeping in the dark as most are now, make sure you bring plenty of good blackout blinds. All the internal doors are frosted glass, and all the windows have vertical blinds and thin curtains only (and they're all larger sized windows). We had 2 large blackout blinds with us but these were no where near enough so had towels, sheets, duvets, cushions (of which there were plenty provided) and throws here there and everywhere to try and dim the light since it goes dark later now and light very early am. But I will end on the positive that its a lovely house, very convenient for the city and all local attractions, the designated free parking space is good (if a little tight for our estate, with 2 other cars in the car park) and the provision of kitchen items and everything else was great. Very clean and tidy and obviously well looked after. The views out the windows lovely too and great if you get nice weather and can sit outside. Just keep the young kids at home!

A lovely find, location couldn’t be better. Nice outside space for enjoying breakfast or evening drinks. Interior decor modern. All in all a great place to stay.
