Tag en dukkert i poolen (generelt mellem Memorial Day og Labor Day), eller slap af ved floden, mens du ser bådene. Den private fælles strand er et perfekt sted at svømme, solbade, kajak - eller bare slappe af. Lovely Getaway

Overall we had a great stay in a lovely property. There was easy access to Oriental and we did some birding in the nearby nature preserve. An hour away were Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle. And we did a sunset horseback ride up by the ferry to Okracoke. Plenty to do, including kayaking and biking too! Property itself was lovely and quiet.

Great property

Great house that was well equipped. The property's grounds were magnificent. The grassed lawn with available adirondack chairs to enjoy the view over the Neuse River was great. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and taking in the sights. House is also a short drive to Oriental, which was great for dining options.

Tranquility

We loved our stay at the Calla Lily. The area is wonderful! There is as much or as little as you would like to do. The cottage and the plantation are unique and full of history. Charming. We would stay again.

Family Vacation

My husband and I took my mom,dad and two sons, and stayed here for a week. Aside from some small problems that the owner took care of right away, we had the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation ever. The place was clean, the grounds were perfect, and the area is amazing. Taking fairies to different destinations was a lot of fun and within 30 minutes you can do pretty much anything you want and still come back to an amazing, peaceful property. We will go again.

Call Lilly Neuse riverside

Beautiful home in the private China Grove community. Grounds are Beautiful, public dock. pool and beach were very nice. Extremely quite. Never need to leave the grounds except for bait and food for the humans. Would have been nice if street name was on sign or if listing noted the home was in the private community, this caused a little confusion upon our arrival.

Fantastic property!

We spent the week of 9/17/17 at Cala Lily cottage with another couple. We could not have been more pleased with the property! The location was perfect for access to the town of Oriental (we were attending sailing school that week). We didn't need to bring anything but food and clothing - the house was completely stocked with loads of towels and every imaginable device for cooking you could possibly need. We loved walking down to the dock for happy hour in the evenings, hoping to catch site of the dolphins. (Only one of us saw them one morning.) We also greatly enjoyed the daily visits from the neighborhood dogs, Moses and Peanut! And don't even get me started on the stars at night - what a show! A place we will definitely hope to rent again.

Great location but not clean

Location of house is ideal, but when we arrived the house had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We had to spend a couple of hours doing our own thorough cleaning of the property which is not the way to start a vacation. Rental Company apologized and agreed to compensate us for this, but so far I've heard nothing from them....Disappointed.

Disappointing

The advertisement is misleading. It was not water front, you’re behind a large house. Everything in the house is broken and very run down. The shower heads look like they’ve never been replaced or cleaned. The fireplace only works for a few min and then quits. Most of the light switches don’t work. Overall very disappointing as it is clear there is no upkeep of the property. We ended up leaving a day early.

Poorly maintained

There is water damage in the kitchen. It's bad. They claim it's free of mold, but why not just make the repairs then? Most of the windows upstairs leak. There's a very bad musty smell. Just poorly maintained property, a to z. Wound up getting a refund for the nights we refused to stay there, but that also put us in a precarious position of finding a place with zero time. The realtor seemed accommodating to our issues and concerns, but the property just isn't properly cared for. Not what I expected with a high end rental property.

The perfect Carolina Getaway!

This was our 1st time to the Inner Banks. My oldest son is stationed @ Cherry Point Air Station, so he was able to take the ferry to join us for his 4th of July leave. Hurricane Arthur added to our adventure, on our 2nd day, and even though the winds roared we were safe & comfy in Calla Lilly. (Many thanks to the rental staff & neighbors for helping us prepare for his arrival). This home was a perfect fit for us. It was spotless & very welcoming. We made use of the gas grill most every night & my teenage daughter, the smoothie queen, loved the blender. The lush green yard, beach, dock & saltwater pool made for nonstop entertainment for all three kids. My favorite place was the porch swing with a cool drink & good book. We were thrilled to see the dolphins heading up the Neuse in the early morning hours. We ventured out to Cape Lookout for a short day trip, which was absolutely beautiful. I could not have asked for a better place to share time away with my family. Hopefully we will get the chance to come again next year. (crossing fingers my Marine doesn't get deployed) Thanks so much for helping us make great family memories that will last a lifetime.

Great Location - Great Cottage - NO WIFI or TV

Let me first say that I rarely leave review comments because I do not want to sound like the bunch of whining first worlders that can never truly be satisfied; however, this is such an awesome cottage and location that I feel compelled to do this. As busy professionals my wife and I both planned on working about half-time while on vacation to VPN in to the office. We are very disappointed and upset that we were never able to connect to the internet. We contacted the property manager immediately who sent out a tech but the fix lasted about 30 minutes. We contacted the property manager again and she said to feel free to contact the provider ourselves but they probably wouldn't come back for a week. In addition to the internet we had almost NO cell phone service. We are in the middle of selling our house and were unable to effectively communicate with anyone and were unable to negotiate a rent back agreement from the buyers leaving us effectively homeless since we just got back and go to closing tomorrow. We both have work stacked up that now requires us working additional hours when we need to be home packing. In addition to the lack of internet access and phone service the audio/video equipment was so outdated that we actually watched a movie on a VCR connected to a tube TV that whistled at such a high pitch it gave you a headache (I would have chosen the other option, a DVD, but the disc was missing lol). While I am piling on I guess that I should mention that there is no disposal in the kitchen sink, the hall bath toilet rocks considerably when you sit on it, and the mattress in the guest cottage is about 3" thick with springs missing. This is so easily correctable but unfortunately not corrected. FYI we have been coming down here for over 20 years and usually rent a little closer to Oriental so the phone signal issue was a known risk. The house that we normally stay in was booked so we took a chance on this one. House 8.5 Location 8.5 Amenities 2.0.

Tranquil and beautiful!!

We loved staying here while Oriental! It is such a charming spot, sitting outside on the back porch, rocking away, listening to the birds sing and seeing the roses all abloom. Very comfortable inside and outside. Definitely recommend this spot.

Wonderful relaxing vacation home

We enjoyed our stay at the Cala Lily cottage. It was very clean, spacious and well stocked. The kitchen had everything you could need for meal preparation. Plenty of space. The bunkhouse is a great extra space. Gorgeous views, especially from the master bedroom window seat. Thank you for such an enjoyable trip!

Cala Lily River View

Our stay was an unexpected trip to attend a memorial, but the beautiful property helped to brighten our solemn moods. Communication was quick and easy. We will gladly stay here again for an actual vacation. Highly recommend.

Great Stay

Everything about the stay was wonderful. The rental company staff were very friendly and the house was very clean. The pool was closed but the little beach area was a great place to swim and play in the sand. The fishing was good as well.

Perfect getaway

This was the perfect getaway for our family. Quaint and quiet and had all the amenities we needed. Unfortunately the weather kept us from enjoying the outdoors such as swimming in in the pool or being on the water but shopping and restaurants were within an hour or less (depending on where we wanted to go). The home was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. We look forward to many more trips here!!

Another enjoyable stay

We returned to Cala Lily for a second time this weekend. It is such a beautiful location! The weather was gorgeous and there was a wonderful breeze this weekend. We did not get into the River this trip because we were seeing jellyfish but we still enjoyed the beach area as well as the pool. The house itself is very comfortable and the kitchen appeared to have a few new pots and pans that were helpful when it came time to cook!

So great!

The most special property, with all the things we were looking for, we caught tons of fish, swam in the river and pool, cooked with your stocked kitchen, did laundry, enjoyed the Adirondack chairs in the evenings, had a dance party with the kids with the surround sound, and so much more. Would have loved to have had the opportunity to learn more about the historic property! You should advertise this more because your rental is an absolute gem!!! Can’t wait to come back.

Great Experience

This place was more than we expected! The location was perfect for a nice relaxing weekend! They had extra towels blankets sheets and the kitchen was fully stocked. Being able to walk to the pool and the water was awesome! We can not wait to go back.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We had such a wonderful weekend at the Cala Lily! The house was beautiful and very clean. It was very nice that it had many supplies already at the house. Our family enjoyed the front porch and spending the afternoon on the beautiful private beach. Very close to Oriental. We’d love to come back in the future!

Solitude and Relaxation

The property was very beautiful and wonderfully maintained. We have two teenagers and it was fun to be able to walk across the grass to the pool, fish from the pier or swim in the river. It was very peaceful and social distancing was very easy at this property. The kitchen had everything we needed and Oriental is a very short drive away if you want to pick up groceries, carry out or fresh off the boat seafood to cook at home! The beds were very comfortable. We liked that there was a washer and dryer there also. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, perfect beach

I really loved the house and the proximity to a beautiful, clean beach front. It was really the best beachfront on a river that I’ve seen. Very clean sand and water, private access, and the new looking pier. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. I loved the layout and the view from upstairs. We were a little confused because you can only sleep 4 people inside as there are only 2 bedrooms. The other “bed” is a pull out sofa in a completely separate, sparsely furnished building, pretty much just the sofa and a mini fridge. The listing advertised a DVD player, but it was only an old box TV with a built in DVD player and VHS player, upstairs in a cabinet in the main bedroom, not in the living room. But they did have cable and HBO channels available. There was an outdoor shower which comes in handy to get sand off, but it was really stained and the shower head was broken. The indoor shower heads were old and covered in limescale, but they worked and the water pressure and temperature was great. The community pool is fenced in next to the largest house in the community and I guess the renters there assumed it was theirs alone, because we kept hearing pointed comments about “their pool” and “their house”. These were very minor issues in the long run, and we had a really great time and would definitely go back!

Plan to return!

We had a wonderful experience at the Cala Lily Cottage! The cottage was so inviting and comfortable! We loved the beach area and pool! Homeowners nearby were very friendly! It was like our own private beach which was especially nice during COVID! The property managers were quick to answer any and all questions we had prior to arrival. Wonderful, enjoyable experience!
