Privately positioned in a tranquil countryside location Villa Gwendoline is just a short drive from the historic yet cosmopolitan town of Lagos and the harbour town of Portimao.Beautiful beaches are a short drive away, Meia Praia toward Lagos is 20 mins by car and the famous beaches of Alvor just 15mins.There are many other options up and down the coast most with beach side cafes and restaurants serving light snacks to full meals. Explore them daily or simply return to a favourite spot on the sand.
For golfers a stay at Villa Gwendoline is the perfect base. Just 50 mins from Faro International airport, you will pass a selection of top quality courses on your way to the villa.Courses close to the villa include Morgado, Penina, Palmares, Boavista and Vale do Lobo to name but a few. If golfing in the spring or autumn please note the villa has a beautiful open fireplace to keep off the evening chill.There is a garage for club storage.
Inside.This traditional Algarve villa is set across one level and is ideal for guests of all ages.A large open plan living / dining room opens out to terraces front and rear. At the front you find the pool and the rear a lawn with orchard beyond. The Monchique Hills are prominent in the distance. The gardens are private and secure with a gated driveway. A fully equipped kitchen is at the front of the house for those who wish to cook, alternatively you can find a selection of restaurants within a short drive of the villa.
The master double has ample storage and windows facing the rear garden. En-suite with bath /shower and with air-conditioning.The twin room looks out on the pool terrace, two comfortable beds and wardrobe storage.The family bathroom with shower is just next door.This room is also air-conditioned.A sofa bed is available for additional guests and can be positioned in the main living area. Cots can be arranged for younger members of the party.
Exterior. Leave the living area through the large glass sliding doors and pool side you will find a shady terrace with seating. Sun beds are next to the pool and shade umbrellas if it gets too hot. Both front and rear terrace have dining tables and chairs. Two bbq’s are available, one fixed and one portable.The grounds have a mix of lawn, shrubs and mature trees with a collection of fruit trees attracting an array of bird life.
Villa Gwendolin offers a relaxing setting in which to unwind but is well placed to visit the more vibrant areas of the Algarve. Beaches, water parks, museums, walking trails, fishing and golf are some options.
