This is a lovely apartment near the center of Uzes, a quaint small town in Provence with lots of good restaurants and few tourists. The location is perfect for day trips to other towns in the region Susan was a terrific host and very easy to work with. We loved our two weeks at this property.

Lovely home, great location

My daughter and I spent a few days driving around Uzes and environs, and having this elegant home with old stone spiral stairs, well-appointed kitchen, comfortable sleeping spaces and peaceful relaxing space to come back to made it all the better. Susan and her team were helpful and responsive, and I highly recommend this stay.

This is a nice town property and the host/owner was very friendly, welcoming, generous and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The property is sited very conveniently in the centre of the town, giving easy access to the beautiful Uzes and its markets and galleries. The air conditioning in the property was effective. The Vrbo description did not emphasise though that access to the small pool and garden was through the owner’s kitchen and dining room with time based access. The owner kindly waived strict timings on requests made, but the photos in the property description (which points to a self-contained property) do not offer an entirely clear understanding of the configuration of the property. The access to the apartment up the stone spiral staircase (a feature in character of the heritage of the building) is also through the owner’s property (between her gfl library and kitchen). The second bedroom area is also a mezzanine floor in the sitting room, so not a self contained bedroom area eg for children (for which it is suited, due to low ceiling). The property was tidy, but in the kitchen, the bin was broken (lid not functional) and had not been cleaned. It required considerable effort to relieve the smell and ultimately we resorted to bin bags (not using the bin). The small dip pool in the confined garden could benefit from a cover as the number of pigeons in the space meant the water was not entirely clean (from their droppings) and therefore a little uninviting.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the town, the location, and your stay with us, it was a pleasure to host you. I did want to gently clarify a few points for future guests reading this review. The pool and garden are accessible at any time, day or night, with no set schedule, guests are welcome to use them freely whenever they like, no request or waiver needed. The library, too, is a shared space that all guests are welcome to sit in and enjoy, though it isn’t actually on the route to the pool, which is reached separately. Regarding the mezzanine area, this is described and pictured in the listing as being suited to children, given the low ceiling height, so I’m sorry if that wasn’t clear from your side. I’m very sorry about the bin, that’s not acceptable and I’ve spoken to my cleaner to make sure it’s properly checked and cleaned before every arrival going forward. On the pool, I completely understand the frustration, our whole town has had an unusually bad year for pigeons, and it’s something I’ve taken seriously. I’ve installed spikes and deterrents, and my gardener comes every day specifically to clean the pool. Unfortunately it’s not a pool that can be practically covered during the day, so despite checking on it frequently myself, a few droppings could appear between cleanings. I’m sorry it affected your enjoyment of it. Thank you again for staying with us, and I hope this clarifies a few things for anyone considering the property.

My sister and I were visiting family in the area. We grew up in France and now live elsewhere, and wanted a look back in time to remember our grandparents, parents, and French culture. Chez Vous à Uzès was just right, with decor, and furnishings, and brought back many memories and laughter. We felt like we went back to the 1960's .We had a wonderful timeMerci Beaucoup

We had the most delightful week at Chez Vous. The apartment is lovely, well equipped and Susan is an extremely responsive host. Uzes was hopping! We joked that all of France was on vacation in Uzes (which was great fun!) The town has delicious restaurants (make reservations!) and we lucked out stumbling on the annual wine festival. The Saturday market and the Tuesday night market were some of my favorite activities. And the pool. Oooh la la!!!! Heaven. Can't wait to come back!

Absolute Best VRBO Experience

Everything was Perfect from our first day to our last. After searching countless properties across the South of France, we chose " Chez Vous" in the picture perfect town of Uzes. We couldn't have made a better choice! The Apartment is incredible, very large, extremely comfortable, with all the amenities of home, so it's aptly named " Chez Vous". The location is just steps away from everything this beautiful town has to offer, which is a lot! And here's a very sincere Thank You to our host, Susan, who epitomizes Hospitality. She made sure everything was perfect with our stay, and it was!!!

Enjoyable, comfortable Apartment in old Uzes

To stay in a charming, newly renovated apartment in a 16th century house in an old French town is a treat. Even the staircase going upstairs is a unique design. The apt. is very spacious with rooms to the front and back ensuring a cross breeze in hot weather. We were very comfortable. It is centrally located. Although parking in old towns is always a problem, there is an underground parking garage nearby (you can purchase a weekly pass). Also visit the "Jardin Medieval" for history. Lots of restaurants nearby. We radiated out from Uzes to other towns nearby. We had an activity filled week here.

Tasteful, beautiful, and in the perfect location

Susan took personal care of our stay from pre-arrival to checkout, and was always just a text away if we needed anything at all. The library, terrace, and kitchen were perfect for an intimate stay, and her whimsical collection of glassware and tableware made our visit all the more unique. It is conveniently located just off the city centre, we were never more than 5 minutes away from a parking lot or restaurant, yet just private enough we didn’t have to deal with the vibrant daytime sounds of the town. Susan and her team at Commendable Rentals are true professionals and well-traveled hosts who know what it's like to visit a new place. We are looking forward to staying at another one of her rentals on our next vacation. Thank you for everything Susan and Corinne!

Elegant, comfortable, and perfect stay in Provence

From the white stone staircase to the cool ambience of the apartment, Chez Vous was a dream apartment for my stay. It is an incredibly comfortable and spacious apartment, with whimsical and elegant decor and antiques that made it intriguing at every turn, and still pristinely kept. I felt so relaxed sitting with a cup of tea near the windows, with the back view of the garden and Uzès rooftops - a welcome serenity even when I needed to work. A provençal oasis! Susan and Adrian are the most gracious hosts, with the best insider tips. Both Wednesday and Saturday markets are a treat to check out and buy regional products, only a few minutes walk away. Also make sure to climb to the top of the “Duchy of Uzès” aka the Duke’s castle for incredible views. I highly recommend staying at Chez Vous!

Perfect Getaway in Southern France

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Susan and Adrian and their beautiful apartment rental in the very cozy hideaway village of Uzes! Opening the windows of a sixteenth-century building above the little streets, with the cool evening breeze, after a great French meal, and then heading out to explore the market the next morning made for a relaxing getaway. And, the location is perfect for exploring Provence! The lavender fields, Mediterranean Sea, the Roman historical sites and medieval villages are charming and easy to navigate with a rental car. The high-speed TGV train service to Nimes makes Uzes easy-to-reach in only four hours travel from Paris. I would have never expected such quality eating, shopping and sight-seeing to be in such a perfect location (and a safe, small town feeling for our visiting nine-year-old daughter). The four days we spent in Uzes will be the highlight of our two-week trip to France.

Amazing accommodation in the heart of Uzes

Susan was the ultimate host - providing us with detailed tips and advice both with her lovely apartment as well as with things to do in Uzes. She even booked a few restaurants for us, which was so helpful. The apartment’s amenities, quality finishes and soft furnishings made it feel like home -away from home - right down to the luxury soaps and essentials in the fridge. Thank you Susan
