Our stay exceeded expectations in all categories. Mark & Callie were exceptional & thoughtful hosts. Their beautiful waterfront home was meticulously cared for both inside and out. We will definitely return to this magical place.

What a lovely house and amazing yard! The house is so roomy with a great kitchen and huge deck with plenty of places to sit. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and the location in the cove is perfect. The hosts make sure you have everything you need. Thank you!

The boat dock was unusable so it ruined our entire trip

We respectfully disagree with the statement that our dock was “unusable” -- this is not consistent with the documented condition of the property nor the experience of the guests who preceeded or immediately followed, having enjoyed the dock for mooring boats, wave runners, paddle boards, and sunbathing throughout the summer. A text message was received only AFTER their early departure, giving no opportunity to understand or address their concern. A 3rd-party photograph taken immediately after this guest’s departure (and newly posted on the website) shows the dock accessible and usable. Most tellingly, the very next guests rated their stay a 10/10 rating, specifically describing the property as having a “nice dock in the cove.” The following week guests rated their stay 10/10, “exceeded expectations in all categories.” We believe these independent, immediately subsequent guest experiences, together with our longstanding 9.8/10 overall rating, provide future guests with useful context when considering this isolated review.

Fabulous lake stay

This Victorian house was a perfect getaway for our family. The deck and well kept yard were a perfect place to enjoy family time, eating, playing games and juat hanging out.Thank you for a memorable vacation!

Great week at Lake Almanor

The owners were helpful. Greeted us when we arrived and checked in to make sure everything was ok. The house was very clean and organized. Nice fire table on the deck and fun using the dock to swim from. Will definitely come again!

Family trip

We had a fun time with the family. In spite of the smoke, we got in some quality time and enjoyed each other's company. The hosts were attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. It was nice being right on the inlet with a private dock. Our granddaughter even got in some time on her paddleboard.

Loved our Almanor Getaway!

We had a wonderful long weekend at this charming house. Everything was smooth and efficient from our last minute booking to our arrival. Great communication with the owners and we loved the accommodations. The water level was low, so the lake front dock wasn't available, but a slip was provided and was easily accessible. We loved the big beautiful backyard to play and had a wonderful weekend! We can't wait to go back to this sweet victorian paradise!

Our family’s second stay here after many years was as lovely as the first. Exceptional property that is so well maintained is such a pleasure. A gorgeous setting within walking convenience to restaurants and market has everything you need. We brought our fishing boat and paddle boards and floaties and and used them all. Played horseshoes and grilled and really enjoyed sitting around the fire table in the evening for dinner. Wish we we had another week because just sitting in the beautiful adirondack chairs on the cove and dock with cup of coffee is heaven. Thank you Callie and Mark for making our trip so easy and unforgettable!

We'll Be Back!

My husband and I had the most relaxing time in this beautiful, well cared for home. It's located in a cove with a dock and well maintained lawn that runs from the house to the dock. The beds are comfortable and the home has everything necessary to make you feel you are at home. The property is conveniently located close to a market and restaurants. The property owners are very nice and accommodating. We are so glad we were able to rent this home.

Warm, wonderful and beautiful.

The hosts at this property were exceptional, always available and very responsive. The home is immaculate and pride in ownership is evidenced throughout. The entire property is well manicured and designed for family fun as would be expected coming to a lake property. There are no negatives here. We would return.

Beautiful location and accommodations

Lakefront Victorian says it all! It is just as described, with a master queen bedroom and a second queen bedroom downstairs, and a loft upstairs. We did not use the loft, since it was just my wife and I, and another couple. The home was exceptionally clean upon our arrival, and we tried to leave it that way when we left. The home has a large back deck, which we enjoyed using with our friends. It overlooks a large, parklike, grass area down to the lake. Very comfortable and peaceful accommodations, which we highly recommend.

Wonderful Lakehouse Vacation

Our family had the best time staying at this adorable house on the lake. It was very, clean, comfortable and the hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The week we were there ended up being one of the hottest of the summer with temperatures in the mid to high 90s but the beautiful surrounding pines kept the house and even the yard shaded comfortable. The dock provided hours of fun for our kids swimming in protected cove's calm waters. For those who like to hike, it is only a 50 minute drive from the house to the entrance of Lassen Volcanic National park and we took advantage of the proximity, driving into the park to hike on 3 separate days. There are multiple convenient options for boat rentals within minutes of the house and our kids enjoyed fishing nearby at Hamilton Branch. We made such great memories staying here and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Location, Location, Location - cannot be beat

Our family has been coming up to Lake Almanor for almost 30 years. Have camped and rented large and small cabins around the lake. Hands down you will not find more pleasant and responsive hosts. Not property managers that could care less about your visit, but true host that want you to have a great vacation. Thank you Callie and Andrea for delaying your trip home to ensure front door got fixed. It was great chatting with you both. This house is just awesome. The love and detail put into this house was breathtaking and like no other lake cabin you will find. Now for the location. This cove is like having you own private piece of the lake. Lake was full so made it easy to get boat in and out without any concerns. No buoy required as weather in this cove stays nice and calm, yet still get a cooling breeze. Not sure how, but even on the hottest day, the house stayed very comfortable without an AC system. I promise this is not the norm in other Lake Almanor cabins. Walking distance to Waganupa Brewing is a great plus (Brown sweet stout was pretty tasty). From there you can go right or left for Mexican food or Italian food. All of this is just across the street. Great lawn area to enjoy the provided horseshoe pit and bocce ball. Nice dart board provided by the BBQ which we often started a tournament while the charcoal was getting to the proper temp. Thank you Callie and Mark for sharing your special hideaway and for being such great hosts.

Very clean house with great communication from the hosts. Wonderful lawn for games with kids and some great seating spots with views of the lake. Nice dock in the the cove that is well protected from some of the harsh Almanor afternoon winds.

Wonderful Lake Almanor Victorian

We had to cancel our annual trip to Yosemite valley due to the road closures and the valley was filling up with smoke from the Oak Fire that unexpectly sprang up. A mad scramble on the internet by all of us, eventually crossed out Lake Tahoe due to the Oak Fire smoke was forecasted to spread to that area. Lake Almanor seemed to be the obvious place to be. We viewed many homes on the VRBO network for the 6 of us adults to stay that was on or near the lake. But one location seemed to keep drawing our attend; The Lakefront Victorian. The pictures listed of the property and the amenities we agreed was just what we all were looking for. As it turned out during our stay we made the right choice; we enjoyed a conveniently located spot of our own place in paradise. At the end of our stay we couldn't think of anything we'd suggest as needing improving. If you are looking for a quite, extremely clean, close to everything right on the water this is the place.
