Too many complications for the location and price

I stayed at this property while picking my daughter up from her study abroad program and the location was convenient to her dorm. The apartment is quite a commute to city center but I knew that going in and was fine with it. The issues were with access to the property and lack of host response to problems. When I arrived the link that was supposed to open the outside gate and building door would not work. I called, texted, and e-mailed the host but ended up standing outside for over 30 minutes until someone left the building and let me in. When I finally did hear back the host insisted that the link worked and told me I would have to contact VRBO. Luckily there were keys inside the apartment as the link did not ever reliably work during my stay. This might be due to the spotty cell service of my international plan so be aware if you are international guests.The hall lights were also burned out so that it was very difficult to see the keypad on the door, which was also difficult to work. Finally, the television did not work. It was missing whatever box or antenna that would provide a signal and it is not a smart tv so I could not even access any streaming leaving the TV completely useless. I texted the host and they never responded. This apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable and it was spacious. It was just very frustrating that so many things did not work and the host was slow to respond or entirely ignored me.

We’re truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced during your stay, particularly regarding the access to the building and our communication. Please note that we sent all the access instructions, including the entry link and codes, a couple of days before your arrival via email and also through WhatsApp, which is our main communication channel with guests. Unfortunately, we do not use iMessage, and this might have caused some confusion or delays in receiving our replies if that platform was used. We understand how frustrating it must have been to wait outside, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused. The entry system generally works well, but we also understand that international data plans can sometimes affect connectivity. We're also sorry to hear about the hallway lighting and TV issue, which we would have been happy to assist with if notified through our active channels. That said, we’re glad to hear you found the apartment clean, spacious, and comfortable.
