Fantastic location just five minutes from the beach. The house is very comfortable, with great amenities and a wonderful outdoor pool and Bbq area perfect for meals and relaxing. Our hosts Andrew and Elsa were very attentive and requests were handled swiftly. A few kitchen utensils were missing, and the dining set could be refreshed. It would be nice to have higher‑quality pillows to match the overall comfort of the property, though mattresses and blackout shutters make for excellent sleep. Only one shower can run properly at a time, which may slow things down. Overall, we had a fantastic stay with minor improvements possible and we hope to be back next summer.

Lovely house, has everything you need for a stay. A gorgeous beach is a short walk away however it is a quiet area so will need to stock up. There was an Aldi a short taxi ride away (few mins, 5 euros) otherwise a small shop about a 5 min walk away but didn’t always have everything you need. Can walk through a nice woodland park type area to get to Monte Gordo.

Lovely villa. Really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for everyone, and a 3 taxi drive to the town. 5 minute walk to the beach and a lovely little local shop. The villa was clean and tidy.

Perfect for our family get together. Exactly as described with stunning pool and pool area. Beautiful beach an accurate 5 minute walk away. Pool area was an all day long sun trap despite the fairly strong winds out and about. Forest walks even closer than beach. Local shop 5 minute walk / 2 min drive provided all needs, or wide choice of supermarkets in Vila Real less than 10 minute drive. Plenty of interest nearby Castro Marim, Vila Real, Tavira, National reserve and ...Spain.Villa was comfortable for 7 of us. Good indoor and outdoor dining. Pizza oven and barbecue both enjoyed.

Amazing new part of Portugal

We come to Portugal every year, staying in new places all the time, 12 people or more. This property was very close to an incredible beach, when i say close i mean less than 5 min walk with young ones at heel. They came and changed the sheets and kept things clean, the icky thing i missed that we usually see is someone cleaning the pool, but the tools where handily they're and the kids loved to do it. We will most likely come back! Definitely recommended

Opinion on Casa da audiencia

Great location for beach access, outdoor space was amazing, close to cafe and mini market and in walking distance to train in MG. Lots of tv options! 8 adults made it a little crowded esp on rainy days when we were inside! The beds and pillows were not to our liking- too soft ! Overall, we enjoyed our time there!

Lovely location and property but very rainy weather .

We loved the house and location however it took (2) days of heating the house to get the chill to retreat and make it tolerable . The tile floors on the first floor retained the cold; so we retreated to the upstairs bedroom to warm up to sleep. We are sure it would be a more pleasant experience in the summer months

Perfect for our needs

Well located.Near restaurants beaches shops but in a quiet location. In a less touristy side of the Algarve but not isolated from any amenities. Pool warm enough to swim even early April. Kitchen well supplied with utensils and white goods. Plenty of room in the bedrooms. Games room with pool table and table football a real bonus for young ones especially on rainy days. Great barbeque area outside. Would highly recommend for a self catering family to the Algarve.

Lovely stay mid October

House suited us to the ground. Pool well used by eldest daughter. Pool table great for the rainy day. Perfect position for the beach and a good walk to catch the boat to Spain for a day. Well equipped except for a bread knife. But who’s bothered by that? Recommend a stay.

Great location

House was perfect for our situation. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach. Within close driving distance to many restaurants. Fantastic bakery within a 5 minute walk. As North Americans, we were shocked that no amenities were provided such as beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, shampoo etc. I guess that it is not common in Europe to provide those things. They are things that we cannot bring all that way in our luggage. We made it work though.

Amazing

We stayed here with our extended Portuguese family for a long overdue reunion and ot was all great. A few little issues to start with, very promptly tended to and understandeable for the start of season. A great house, with all the necessary facilities. Well equipped, well located. Only a short walk to the beach and a quick 7 to 10 minute drive to any supermarket you choose. Very short drive to the Monte Gordo village with good restaurants and great walking paths along the beach. Overall an amazing stay in a very good house. Thank you so much. We had many tears from young to old when leaving....

Lovely beachside villa

Mixed weather meant we could not take full advantage of the outside villa. Stunning beach 5 m8nute walk away with 2 great beachside restaurants with fab cocktails and food.Beds linnen and towels great quality.Very well socked kitchen with crockery utensilsand 0lenty pots abd serving dishesMinor but a bread knife and working corkscrew is needed slong with a sturdy clothes horse for hanging washing outside.We did not bring a haidryer as the billa was advertised as having one.I dare say if we had contacted the owner one would have been brought to the villa.The bakery,.shop come cafe restaurant 5 minutes walk away had everything needed and we used it every morning for coffee and padtried.vey reasonable and delicious it wad too.All in all we would use villa again but leave it to later in theseadon .

Disappointed

Check in was easy and house was in order. After that things went downhill. House didn't have any of the normal extras like salt and pepper, dish soap, hand soap etc. I've come to expect with VRBO listings. (We were left 2 dishwasher pods and 2 laundry pods-not adequate for 4 people doing their cooking at home for 5 nights). 2 of the wine glasses in the cupboard were cracked and a 3rd broke in my hand while towel drying it. Owner states he lives nearby but was not responsive for nearly 24 hours when the sink backed up, the dishwasher leaked all over the floor and the hot water went out. Fortunately my friend was able to figure out the hot water problem so we didn't have to take any more cold showers. His agent (who was a gem when she finally came) is only available during office hours, so if you have a problem in the evening or weekend (which we did) you're out of luck. There was no hand soap or garbage receptacles in either bathroom and no place to hang a hand towel in the upstairs bathroom for washing hands. Lastly, the house sprung a leak in the bathroom upstairs and we had to line the area behind the toilet with towels for 2 days. I've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, and this was by far the most expensive I've ever rented. It's only the 2nd poor review I've ever left. I think the house was recently renovated and we were the unlucky problem finders and owner didn't seem very concerned.

A few very minor gripes, but the house was perfect for our time with our family.Plus side- plenty of room for our party of 6 adults plus 5 and 3 Yr olds and 20 month old. Pool was perfect and the older children learned to swim independently with a noodle. Genuinely 300 mtrs from a fantastic beach which shelved gently and had perfect sand for sandcastles. Not quite the Atlantic nor the med, water was chilly and had some good waves. Good little local shop and cafe back towards the main road. Host was incredibly kind and let us use the outdoor space on our last morning after we vacated the villa which was brilliant. Thank you for that.We had the most wonderful time all together - very special when we are all busy living in different parts of the country. Negatives - niggling things, and I got over these quite quickly, but, no instructions to hand - they were in a drawer out of sight. No cot on our arrival, but sorted within 1/2 hour. 2 toilet rolls provided for a household of 9. No instructions for kitchen electric items and buttons too worn on the microwave to be readable.Management company fairly terse with their responses with some wrong info given. There IS separate recycling, not all in one bin as the contact said.Couple of loose cobbles which we repaired ourselves. I think the management company need to be a little mire diligent. BUT...above all, this property is fabulous and the owners delightful to communicate with.We would go again in a flash!

Casa bonita, bem situada, com boa piscina.Á entrada a louça estava guardada SUJA. Tivemos que a lavar toda.Vários copos partidos, picadora avariada e apenas 2 colheres de sobremesa. Não havia ferramentas para o grelhador (que era excelente).Ao terceiro ou quarto dia um dos AC avariou e assim ficou embora tivesse havido promessa de reparação... Substituído por um AC portátil impossível de utilizar á noite pelo barulho que fazia.A sanita de cima esteve sempre pouco eficaz e acabou por entupir - problema resolvido rapidamente pela manutenção.Vizinhos barulhentos com música alta no quintal praticamente todo o dia...No ano passado adorei a casa onde estive (a ultima na mesma rua a caminho da praia). Este ano fiquei desapontado

We had such a wonderful family stay in Monte Gordo — the villa was spotless, spacious, and in the perfect location, just a short walk from the amazing beach. We also loved the affordable coffee shop nearby. Andrew and Else were only a message away if we had any issues throughout our stay which were resolved quickly. Ubers took us into the center very reasonably.

Schönes Haus in super Lage, aber leider gleich am 1. Abend unzumutbarer, beissender Gestank aus dem Abfluss am Waschbecken. Obwohl der Installateur 4x da war wurde das Problem nicht behoben!!!! Es war einfach nur eklig und hat uns den ganzen Urlaub verdorben. Vom Vermieter nicht mal eine Entschuldigung, hat man ja nicht nötig, Hauptsache die Kasse stimmt.Wa

Boa localização, 5 minutos a pé da praia. Bom para quem gosta de fazer caminhadas/jogging. Muitas almofadas e com qualidade, AC em todos os quartos e sala de estar. Para um alojamento que acomoda até 12 pessoas, devia ter mais espreguiçadeiras e utensílios de cozinha. Piscina virada a norte, pelo que tem pouca exposição solar.
