Location for us was perfect. The loft was well appointed and very comfortable and the hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Motor House Loft to anyone wanting to explore this area.

A great place to stay

We just spent two weeks at the Motor House Loft whilst being on hand for our great grand son who just started primary school in the area. What a great find this place was, excellent accommodation, well priced, located in beautiful grounds with great walks and close to the bus stop if you don't have a car. The facilities such as the kitchen are good if you are planning on a long term stay and eating in a lot, great shower, lounge area and two good sized bed rooms. We also bumped into the owner a few times who was very friendly and helpful without being over intrusive. If you are thinking of staying in the area, it's a great place to stay.

Wonderful loft with everything you might need

We had a great time at the loft. It's very peaceful and quiet and has everything you need. The owners are very helpful and have great tips for hiking in the area. Highly recommended!

Spacious, family friendly apartment

We enjoyed our stay at the Loft. It's a well equipped, spacious, clean apartment, very suitable for families. The location is superb for visiting the various NT properties in the area. The host was extremely congenial and there are clear instructions for all appliances.

Perfect Stay and Apartment

The property was immaculate, the hosts were so kind and hospitable. The apartment (motorloft) is part of beautiful farm grounds which were amazing to look out over each morning from the apartment windows. Very quiet, relaxing, safe and enjoyable. Amazing experience.

Fantastic short break

My wife and I decided on a last minute break in Kent and were absolutely delighted with our stay at Motor House. Great location to get about but we also had some helpful suggestions from the hosts who were very friendly but also left you alone if you didn’t need anything. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you could need provided. Would definitely use again as/when we return to the area.

Beautiful Kent countryside location

Very well equipped, clean, comfortable beds and friendly helpful owners. You can reach the coast and no end of National Trust properties, gardens and pretty villages within a thirty minute drive. There is even a cinema two miles down the road, two supermarkets and a pub a short walk away.

wonderful stay in Sandhurst

We had a wonderful end to our tour of the South of England. The motor-house loft was very well equipped and clean. Marc was always available and could give some tips for walks in the area. Thank you very much for your support.

A comfortable, quality stay, that we would be happy to do again.

Lovely accommodation located within the grounds of a private home. Hosts provided all the information needed, responded to requests quickly and provided clean, well equipped, quality accommodation. The village is picturesque, and as hikers, it was great to be able to do the Sandhurst/Bodiam Castle circular path, direct from the accommodation. Many more walks nearby too. Our only disappointment was that the village pub (The Swan) is closed, requiring driving to nearby towns for drinks/dinners out. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again when we return to the area.

Lovely part of the world, lovely hosts and fantastic property

Nothing about this property could be improved upon. Mark and Mel are fantastic hosts, they are very welcoming; nothing was too much trouble for them. The Motor house loft is a fantastic property, everything one could ask for. It was clean, modern and in excellent decorative order. Relaxing family break at Motor House Loft

Our family of four stayed at Motor House Loft over half term and highly recommend it. The apartment is well furnished and equipped, your hosts are friendly and on hand for any questions (fyi there's a pan drawer underneath the oven!). This is a great location. There are walks from the door through the surrounding fields, but also many activities within a short drive - Bodiam Castle, Boating station, Bedgbury Forest and GoApe. We were lucky with the weather and headed to Camber Sands as well as discovering the lovely views at Winchelsea beach across Rye bay.

A lovely stay in "the garden of England"

We had a wonderful relaxing stay in the cute motor house loft. The loft is superbly equipped and has all the amenities you could want. The surroundings are gorgeous English and Marc is a great host who can always come up with a tip. The dog Maisie is well behaved and friendly and will stop by when you are outside. Everything we needed in beautiful surroundings

The grounds that the property is located in are stunning. We very much enjoyed the scenic views from the windows. The location in Sandhurst is also lovely, with a good pub just a short walk away serving delicious food, surrounded by many quaint scenic villages. The property was great & had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. It was good to have such a nice sofa & decent TV with Netflix, etc for when we were taking a break from exploring the local area. Bodiam Castle is about 5 mins away - a beautiful castle where you can also do archery. You can catch the steam train from opposite the castle and spend some time in Tenterden, which has the nicest high street with good shops & restaurants. We had a very enjoyable stay - thank you!

Comfortable apartment in peaceful environment

The apartment is situated on the beautiful grounds of the owner with a lovely view over the environment. The livingroom is spacious with enough room for sitting, eating and cooking. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are comfortable and clean. So is the bathroom. We enjoyed the little terrace very much. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The village Sandhurst has a nice village shop for basic needs. Villages like Tenderden within 15 min drive have all other facilities. Sandhurst was ideally located for visiting the beautiful manors and parks/gardens like Sissinghurst and Great Dixter: all within 30 min drive. And the environment has lots of public foothpaths for short and langer walks.

A great break in the countryside of Kent

The Motor House Loft provided us with an excellent base from which to explore the treasures of this part of Kent. On arrival we were met by the very friendly and lovely black lab Maisie who was always pleased to see us throughout our stay. Mark and Melanie are great hosts and very pleasant to talk to. Mark has a great knowledge of the footpath network around the property with many walks from the door and shared these with us, the one to Bodiam Castle is excellent. Other attractions nearby were Sissinghurst castle, Scotney and Smallhythe. The Loft was very clean, well laid out and very comfortable and quiet. The view over the fields from the bedroom window first thing in the morning and late evening is not to be missed. We had a terrific week and would not hesitate to book if we were in that part of the country again. Thank you Mark and Melanie

Sensational in Sandhurst!

We stayed in this beautiful property for a week, and really could not fault it in any way. The village location was great and so peaceful yet very convenient for local shops and petrol station. The views and local walks were lovely too. Mark, the host, made our stay even better. Would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We really enjoyed our all too short visit to Motor House Loft. During which we were able to visit some great locations and view the wonderful countryside of Kent and Sussex. Mark and Melanie were super hosts, offering us a peaceful walk across their grounds to explore the beautiful countryside walk way beyond. Beautiful property and area.

The property was very clean and suited our needs. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, can’t fault. However, there were issues with checking in with the company. No key code email was sent out as apparently the insurance payment didn’t go through. They wanted more money and was only when I said I have proof of payment and a confirmation email they said it was okay. Will not book with the company again, but would love to stay in the property again- thanks again for the lovely stay!

Half term family break

My family and I spent 8 nights at the Motor House Loft this October half term. The property was very easy to find and was so very clean and comfortable. If we had any questions during our stay, the owner who lives in the house on site was always on hand to answer them or give us advice. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and are planning our next visit to this beautiful area of Kent

Motor House Loft - Excellent

We had a lovely stay at Motor House Loft in Sandhurst. The property location is excellent for exploring the surrounding Kent/East Sussex countryside. Superb accommodation, very well appointed and an excellent shower! Our hosts were really quite lovely and we felt nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this property.
