It was such a nice place where we enjoyed the week. We also god really good recommendations with what to see/eat/experience from the host that was really really kind!

Gorgeous property, great for a group!

We're a group of 11 adults who stayed at Il Pozzo di San Barnaba in Sept 2023. The home was perfect for us! Each of the 7 bedrooms has an en suite bathroom, the kitchen is well appointed, and the outdoor space can't be beat. Our cooking class with Benedetta was a trip highlight – you must have her cook for/with you! The property is remote but a quick drive into town. We rented cars but only used them to and from the property with our luggage, and for quick trips into Borgo San Lorenzo or Scarperia for groceries, restaurants and to catch the train. We took the train from Borgo San Lorenzo into Florence for day trips and it was really easy. The property manager, Simona, was great to communicate with before and during our stay. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Tuscany!

Our month-long stay at Pozzo di San Barnaba was absolutely wonderful; truly the trip of a lifetime. It was the perfect place for our extended family and friends to come and go, to enjoy togetherness at the villa and to take excursions in Tuscany and beyond. Our host was so very kind, friendly and helpful, in sharing her beloved villa and charming property, the Mugello region, its people and cuisine. She was always available for help with everyday needs, restaurant choices, chef and driver arrangements, and more. The villa's kitchen is top-notch for cooking in, or for hosting our amazing chef, who provided over-the-top experiences with delicious regional specialties. Then there was the amazing experience of watching the local pizzaiolo build a fire and cook scrumptious pizzas in the on-site stone hearth oven. The region surrounding the villa is absolutely stunning, and full of everything vacationers could want, from yummy gelato shops to historic art and architecture dating back centuries. We all came home with heartwarming stories of special encounters with the genuinely warm and gracious people of Tuscany. Choose Pozzo di San Barnaba for an unforgettable vacation immersed in the beauty and culture of this special place!

Tuscan dream

The pictures don’t do it justice. We loved everything about our Tuscan villa. We booked it for our family of 17 for our 50th wedding anniversary. The rooms with private baths were splendid. The big kitchen and spacious indoor and outdoor dining tables were perfect for family meals. The grounds were beautiful and included a garden with fresh produce plus chickens with fresh eggs. The pool swallowed up the kids. The location made it easy to take a train into Florence or a day trip to Modena. Scarperia itself is a jewel with its knife museum and knife shops. The chef recommended by the host was fabulous. We loved the feeling of the house and all the decor. The host and her husband did a fabulous job restoring an old farmhouse leaving in place some of the vestiges of its antiquity. We did have a problem with an insect infestation but the host took care of it immediately so were able to mange around it without too much trouble. All in all, we could not imagine finding something as good as this was and we recommend it highly.

Perfect, just perfect.

We rented this house for almost a week to celebrate a 30th birthday and had an incredible time. The house was fantastic and very comfortable with our group of ~15 people. Large, well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms each with a bathroom with a shower. We spent every evening outside around the large dinner table, from sunset to late hours, taking in the great views of the Tuscan countryside. Sharing stories with family and friends, eating good food and drinking delicious Tuscan wine. It was honestly perfect. Simona is also the nicest and helped with every little question we had both before and during our stay. She really put in the effort of making our birthday celebrations special. Most notably, she helped us arrange for chef Benedetta, who owns and runs a local restaurant, to come and cook the birthday dinner for us. We set up a whole menu with Benedetta that would suite everyone's dietary restrictions, and it was delicious. The house is also close to the train station which was very important for us as everyone was traveling separately, both arriving and leaving on different days and times. People could comfortably make their way between Borgo San Lorenzo and Florence all throughout the day. We also rented a car, which I would say is a must if you're staying here with a large group, both to drive people and go grocery shopping. If you have the option to come here, I would highly urge you too. Can't imagine we would've had a better week anywhere else.

Magnifique maison

Très grande maison très confortable , grandes chambres lumineuses et très confortables , belles salles de bain et cuisine très grande et très equipée . Jardin superbe , piscine bien entretenue avec beaucoup de transats jeux pour enfants très bien et de grandes tables intérieure et extérieure . Passages fréquents de trains assez proches de la maison

So, wie ich es mir vorgestellt habe.

Ein wunderbares Anwesen, welches alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt hat. Es hat allen so gut gefallen, dass niemand Lust verspürrte Ausflüge zu unternehmen. Grosszügige, liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer und Räume und schöne Badezimmer. Die Küche lädt ein zum gemeinsamen Kochen und die grossen Tische, drinnen oder drausen bieten viel Platz zum Essen, Spielen oder einfach nur zum miteinander reden. Der Pool ist der Hammer und das Voleyballfeld macht der ganzen familie Spass. Grandios! Vielen Dank liebe Simona!

Three generation family holiday

The property was an excellent choice for us. Plenty for the children to do (away from shops!) Easy access to Florence for days out. Eating together was made easy inside and outside by big long tables that accommodated us all. So meals were great times of chat among the various parents, children and grandparents. The pool was wonderful! A good time was had by all.

Villa magnifique, décorée avec bcp de goût, bien située, hôtes à l'écoute, sympathiques , réponses rapides, propreté ++++, rien ne manque... piscine au top, excellent rapport qualité/prix... à recommander ++++
