Unique accommodation

If you are looking for a unique and fun accommodation in the Balmoral area of Scotland, this tiny house is a great choice! Creative design, comfortable, and a wonderful setting close to Ballater and Braemer.

A magical little place

It's hard to put into words, but this quaint little hut housed some very special memories. It's a really nicely designed and well located place with lots of amazing local walks. Having the opportunity to see the night sky and all its stars without any light pollution was a real bonus.

Perfect getaway

The tiny house is so cozy and comfortable! Perfect location for exploring Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms. We stayed 4 nights with our two elementary aged children and it was a perfect space. Both beds were so comfy and the loft was surprisingly private. Great access from the property to the 7 Bridges Trail and the River Dee. Would definitely stay here again!

The perfect little retreat - 5 ⭐️

Really was a fantastic stay! We had 2 nights there but wish we had booked for longer! They have done it so well! Looks just like a “tiny house” from the outside, yet they have utilised the space inside… it feels lovely and spacious! Comfy bed with sky light (if you are lucky enough for a starry night - you’re in for a treat) 30 min drive to glenshee ski centre and 5 mins from Ballater which is a lovely little town with walks and mountain biking on the doorstep! Great little outside Woodburner bath to top it off too. If we end up that way again we will be back for sure 😊

Cozy tiny house

Beautiful tiny house situated next to a lovely garden just outside the quaint town of Ballater in the Scottish Highlands. The loft bed with a large window and skylight made it seem like we were sleeping in a treehouse with spectacular morning views of the hills. Really cool that it was all ecologically sustainable. There was a lovely vegetable and flower garden right next to the house. The only improvement I would suggest is replacing the scratched Teflon pans to avoid the health problems associated with Teflon.

The inside of the house was very clean. We did have issues with the plumbing on the first day, but a handy man came over almost immediately, followed by the owner. The issue was resolved in short order. The handy man even took off his shoes before entering! The design of the house was very clever, with lots of details accounted for. The upstairs bed was very comfy - the second one less so - but it did the trick.Karl and Bess couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, even giving us local tips and ideas of places to see.

The Cosy Cabin

The wee cabin was a very cosy stay for my partner and I, exactly what we were looking for on our weekend in the Cairngorms. Even though the weather was tough going, the hot tub is well sheltered so we happily jumped in to unwind both evenings. The cabin has everything you need and its all within arms reach, giving a taste of comfortable vanlife without having to worry about emptying the toilet or finding parking! The shower was great, the upstairs bed is very cosy with beautiful views from the windows and the woodburner heats the place up in no time. Next time, it would be great to see some wee lights along the path to guide you back from the hot tub at night, and a few firelighters would make lighting the wee stove a bit more foolproof. Thanks for hosting a wonderful weekend!

Public Transportation was easy with a little planning

We stayed for 6 days in July 2023 in one of the tiny homes. Loved it, loved the location, the nature, and the ethos of what they're doing. FYI: We did it all on public transportation, (without renting a car) and for those considering, this is what it was like: The four of us took a train to Aberdeen, and then took the 201 bus (same station as the train station) from Aberdeen right to the driveway of the rental. We bought a few groceries at the Aberdeen train station to get us over for a day. We were travelling with backpacks, and the 1.5 - 2 mile walk into Ballater to get groceries in the backpack was easy, beautiful, and a pleasant activity for me. However, I could have used the 201 bus (bus drivers are happy to let you off and pick you up even if it's not specifically a bus stop), just get the location (description) from the host. I wanted to post this because travelling with public transport is fun, economical, and a great way to experience a place. Also eco friendly. Highlights: rented bikes in Ballater (25 pounds/day), LOVED swimming in the river Dee just 2 minutes from the cabin, picking raspberries, visiting Knock Castle, enjoying Cask Beer at the local tavern, and chatting with the hosts: friendly and helpful. Keira was super attentive and helpful as well. Jamie, Jessica, Pearl and Josephine (14, 16 years old)

Toller Aufenthalt in Ballater

Wir haben zwei Nächte bei Karl im Tiny House übernachtet. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail und allem was man benötigt hat er das Tiny House gebaut. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und können es sehr weiterempfehlen .

Cosy cabin

Beautiful little cabin, everything you need for a few days, so cosy and cute and lovely views! Super comfortable bed. Karl was really thoughtful coming to check in on us several times as it was below freezing for a lot of our trip we had a problem with iced up keysafe and water pipes. These were understandable due to the temperatures but still sorted out these issues super quickly and came to check we were okay. Would definitely recommend and would return. Thanks to Karl Keira and Bess for a lovely stay!

Fabulous!

We loved this eco house. The morning views to the evening sun were magical. Lovely walks nearby and yet still accessible to visit Ballater. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break-away!

Excellent!

We had a wonderful stay in Ballater. Lovely little house, well equipped, cosy and beautiful views! The hosts were so kind and happy to show us around their vegetable garden and their new property development. Would love to visit again :)

Ingenious and beautiful tiny house

Great location for Ballater and Balmoral. A really unique and inspiring build. Had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and we loved waking up with the sun and views from the elevated bed and the chance to talk to the owners about their work on the plot and get some tips for growing our own produce, thank you!
