Perfect Cotswolds cottage

The Smithy is a beautifully presented, comfortable, clean and homely cottage right in the centre of Chipping Norton. The location is fabulous - only a few minutes walk to the town with numerous shops and pubs. The cottage is well equipped and we particularly loved the little courtyard area with beautiful countryside views. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again.

Weekend away

Beautiful house in a great location, parking can be an issue but they do have a parking permit for further up the street. The interior was finished to a high standard. An enjoyable stay.

A beautiful retreat on the edge of town

Immaculately clean & very well-equipped. Very convenient for the town, nice pubs & restaurants. We enjoyed Alberto’s & the Blue Boar - both 5 minute walk away.

Great place

Apart from being in a great location the decor was lovely and everything in The Smithy was of a very good quality. There was an excellent supply of all basic necessities in the kitchen too. We were extremely pleased with our choice and had a lovely stay. Would highly recommend.

Very lovely place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Smithy, it was newly decorated and very well done. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the welcome pack was more than anywhere we have had before. The location was ideal for getting into town and taking the dog for a walk. It offered us everything we needed for a family weekend break.

Great Stay

The guys staying at this property told me that this was fully equipped with everything they needed & loved the house. They would definitely stay again if working in this area.

One of the Best in the Cotswolds!

From the booking process to the stay it was probably one of the best rental cottages we have stayed in. The information given prior and during the stay was full and if any questions were had then there was always a way to find the answer. The cottage is in a fantastic location, walkable to shops, pubs and the centre of Chipping Norton and was a great base for us. The condition of the cotttage was at the higest level and would recommend to anyone who wants a base for exploring the country. I would definately stay here again!

Lovely cottage

The Smithy is a lovely little cottage, for a girls weekend away had everything we needed and spotlessly clean. Excellent location for exploring. Managed to get parked right outside but the permitted parking was literally just round the corner. Would definitely stay again

Great location and lovely property - would love to stay here again

I stayed with a few friends as we weere going to an event nearby so made a weekend of it. The property was lovely and perfect for what we needed. All agreed we would like to stay again. Thanks to the hosts!

Fabulous Stay!!

Just back from a lovely stay at The Smithy! A beautiful cottage with everything we needed. The rooms were a good size and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome pack of bread, milk & biscuits was appreciated!! We didn't have any issues with parking either, there was always a space either in the car park or on the street outside the property.

Super stay in The Smithy

Another lovely stay in The Smithy - clean, comfortable & cosy. Lovely meal in Alberto's & great Sunday roast in The Blue Boar. Couple of very nice independent shops for gifts, jewellery or to treat oneself. We'll be back.

Lovely cottage, great location

Three friends stayed for a weekend. We all loved the cottage. Super comfortable and well-equipped. It has all the convenience of being in town near the shops, pubs and restaurants but also great countryside walks from the door step. The Black Horse pub at Salford is well worth a visit!

Fabulous cottage in a fantastic location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Smithy just after Christmas. The cottage is very homely and welcoming with a very well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the hamper and drinks provided by the owners that was a lovely touch. The cottage is right in the centre of town, so the location is faultless. The cottage was extremely clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous!

Beautiful place. It was spotless. The heating worked exceptionally well, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could think of and more. The bedrooms were a great size and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. The power shower was superb! We will happily stay here again. A fantastic example of how to present a holiday cottage!

The Smithy

Perfect stay

The cottage was extremely well situated for exploring The Cotswolds and Oxford. The parking permit was a huge bonus as it is very limited and the information provided for the stay was very good. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped. It would of been nice if perhaps the heating could of been on for our arrival as when we entered the property it was very, very cold and took some time to warm up but this is not a criticism in any way as our stay was perfect.

Lovely cottage in ideal location

We instantly felt at home in this pretty cottage. It is extremely well equipped, very clean and in a perfect location. We enjoyed a super short break after Christmas visiting Oxford and a lovely walk straight out the door to the Rollright Stones. As it is an older property, it is a little colder upstairs but there are plenty of blankets- maybe pack an extra jumper in the winter.

Nice cottage in great location

We stayed with our 13 year old daughter for a long weekend. Nice cottage, only a couple of very minor niggles that didn’t affect our stay - the cottage is very nice but we felt smelt a little musty downstairs (especially in the kitchen/utility area, although it’s an old house so maybe to be expected) Also, we would have preferred full size bath towels, rather than the smallish ones that the cottage provides, but these are very minor points that wouldn’t put us off staying again. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend

A very comfortable stay

Loved The Smithy! Good communication throughout from the hosts - we were sent a message at 12pm saying it was ready for check in. We asked for a baby cot, a stairgate and a high chair and it was all set up prior to arrival. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we made many meals there. Sainsbury's was just a few minutes' walk away and there was a small farmers market on Wednesday. All in all we loved our stay and would return.

"The Smithy" at Chipping Norton

"The Smithy" is a very comfortable short-stay location, right in the centre of Chipping Norton. It provides ready access to an array of shops, restaurants, and pubs, with easy access to branded high-street supermarkets too. The property is a three-bedroom house, which suited our family size, with all bedrooms providing a good size. The kitchen is excellently stocked with all cutlery and china, with all facilities one would expect for cooking and catering for a small family (microwave, cooker, hob, etc). Parking is really convenient, either on the adjacent street as we did, or else, by using the parking permit provided by the Host. This was really beneficial when packing and unpacking your vehicle. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, with "The Smithy" with it also being really useful as a base to visit Oxford and Bicester Outlet Village, both are within easy reach.
