Excellent Base for exploring the Cotswolds

Beautiful house in an idyllic location. Felt very spacious and airy, plenty of parking, very clean and all the facilities you need for a very comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Quintessential English charm! Beautifully appointed, everything like new. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, lovely outdoor area, lots of seating for relaxing and very clean. Situated in quiet area but no too far from local attractions. A lovely ramble right outside the door. Would definitely come back!

Very spacious and comfortable property for two people

Lovely property with spacious lounge/dining area. Large bedroom with comfortable bed and big, bright bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy. Very nice dining pub immediately opposite (The Feathered Nest), but still a quiet location. Good central location for exploring the Cotswolds. A perfect holiday to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

Home from home

We stayed in Crofters Barn over Easter 2026. It just felt like home to us. It was lovely and warm with lots of natural light. The house is kept immaculately clean and has everything you need. We found it a great base to explore from. It seemed that just about everywhere was 20 minutes away by car. We also enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch at the pub opposite.

A lovely spacious cottage and very comfortable, in a lovely village between Stow and Burford. Great location for visiting lots of attractions.

Perfect.

Wonderful property, with everything supplied that one needs for a perfect holiday. Comfortable seating, and bed with a very good shower. Lovelly back garden to sit and appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of the area. The only noise you will hear at this location is nature being busy, yet you are only an 8 minute drive from stow in the wold. The only piece of equipment we missed was a coffee machine, but again this is personal to us. We visit the Cotswold every year, we will certainly be booking this property again.

Lovely cottage in great location

Cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well equipped and bed very comfy. Nice garden. Pub opposite was great - lovely views and great food. Easy access to local towns and good walks from the door.

Fantastic weekend away

This wonderful cottage was exactly as described. Absolutely perfect for a child free weekend away in the Cotswolds. Just being a stone’s throw from the fantastic Feathered Nest country pub was the icing on the cake, we will definitely be booking again.

A brilliant comfortable stay in a perfect Cotswolds location

This property was excellent and a perfect place for peace and quiet. It's close enough to all the main areas we wanted to visit in the Cotswolds. The property was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The water feature in the garden was a very nice bonus ! We will definitely stay here again!

Great stay in a great location

Wonderful cottage, very spacious for two. Nice little village well situated for exploration of the Cotswolds. Check in and instructions were clear. Gastropub across the street is a nice touch :)

Getaway

My husband and I went to Crofters Barn for the first time. Lovely relaxing getaway for a few days. Good location to visit Bourton on Water, Stow-on-Wold and other locations if you have time. Lots of good walks as well.

Crofter's Barn

What a lovely place. Great location, and a very quiet area. The property was exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay there again - highly recommended. And 5 Stars to Bolthole Retreats - they are great to work with.

Lovely cottage holiday

Lovely property, excellent location. A shame most of the kitchen cupboards were locked leaving only one cupboard for you to store your own shopping. Everything is there that you could possibly need and would recommend this property for a great stay in the cotswolds.

Beautiful place & convenient location

We would definitely stay at this property again. It was spacious, well lit, and clean. The bed was comfortable, and views were really nice. The communication with the property manager was not superb when we arrived, but there was an emergency contact available who got back to us relatively quickly.

A slice of Cotswold peace and pleasure

The property did not disappoint, from the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. Beautifully decorated and in such a peaceful location. Only 15 mins from all major places to visit! The only suggestion I would make is to fit a bath, shower is big and really good but there is space for a bath under the skylight

Beautiful property

Fantastic base for exploring the Cotswolds and exactly as described. Private garden and ample parking meant this was a stress free stay. Local shops are a drive away so take essentials or organise a delivery as I did. Excellent pub metres away which is on the expensive side but well worth a visit (The Feathered Nest). Just perfect for relaxing in the evening.

Crofters Barn review

We enjoyed our stay very much at Crofters Barn. It was comfortable, clean and an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds. However, this is our fourth visit to the Cotswolds and the only place where we have not received a welcome pack. A few essentials like milk, bread etc would have been nice after a long day travelling. The only other thing was that the windows in the sunroom could have done with a clean. However, we would have no reservations in returning to Crofters Barn or recommending it to others.

Great cottage and well placed to discover the cotswolds

Was worried about some previous reviews regarding cleanliness, but the place was spotless when we arrived. Sofas were comfy and it was nice that pets aren't allowed as you didn't get that 'old dog' smell that you do in some cottages. Would highly recommend, but you do need a car to explore. Nice a quiet. Only downside was the lack if channels on the TV - we assumed there would be freeview (so BBCiPlayer at least), but it was just tv channels, so that was a bit disappointing. All in all a lovely stay though.
