We really enjoyed our stay at Alpine Escape and would definitely consider staying here again. The cabin is in a beautiful, peaceful area, and despite the burned trees from the Southfork Fires (Summer 2024), we loved watching the elk wander through the area, the hummingbirds around the deck, and the incredible star-filled skies at night. The cabin had many things we appreciated. The hot tub was exceptionally clean, the outdoor grill looked brand new and worked great, and we especially loved that the property is dog-friendly.There were a few areas where information could be updated. The listing mentions enjoying the fire table on the deck, but there isn't one now because of fire restrictions. The digital house guide was helpful overall, but it included some confusing instructions. For example, it says to enter using the garage code, but check-in is actually through the second door on the upper level. It also instructed us to start a load of white towels before checking out, but there weren't any white towels and the printed poster checkout instructions inside the cabin didn't mention doing laundry at all. The dishwasher needs cleaning or replacement; it left dishes chalky and glasses cloudy. The driveway is VERY steep and can be intimidating at first, but once we got used to it, it wasn't a problem.Overall, this was a comfortable, reasonably priced cabin in a wonderful location. With a few updates to the instructions and attention to the dishwasher, it would be 5-stars!
