Apartment in Beautifully Restored Building in Central Tavira

This guest’s perpetual demands for visits to the property could not always be fully justified. In the case of the air conditioning, we were first told there was a fault, then that it was working fine, then that it was then not working after all. Because local aircon engineers are expensive, the housekeeper first called round to verify whether the a/c was actually at fault. It was found to be in perfect working order. A french window to the room in question was found to be left open so it is hardly surprising that the a/c might not have been fully effective. No successive guests have since complained about the air conditioning. As mentioned in the review, two rooms on the floor below are provided with ceiling fans as some people do not respond well to air conditioning. We did verify that one of the ceiling fans had stopped working as reported, for which a repair has been organised. A number of powerful and highly reliable portable fans are made available for use in the event of any misfunction with the air circulation or cooling equipment. This was pointed out to the guest at the time. The request that the housekeeper inspect the property once the guest had tidied up from its awful state was declined as the cleaner would be there within an hour of the guest departing. Nevertheless, we always value and act on constructive feedback and strive to maintain the high standard for which the apartment has received countless five star reviews over many years.

The issue of the need for air conditioning on the lower floor has already been a concern for us given the recent heatwaves so we have programmed the installation of air conditioning in these bedrooms ready for 2027, so all bedrooms in the property will have it. The fans in these bedrooms were recently replaced so it is likely the power switch on the wall, which needs to be activated in addition to the remote control had not have been switched on. In any event, several portable fans are provided in case additional ventilation is required. The light intrusion from the shutters is minimal and we have not had complaints about this before but are nevertheless investigating improvements.
