Roundstone Quay Cottage

Roundstone Quay Cottage is our latest, and super exciting addition to Fernwood's offering. This 2 bedroomed cottage (1 superking size double and 1 twin) has been completely renovated and updated with all mod cons, whilst still offering the unique charm of the waterside fisherman's residence.

There is central heating, fibre broadband, fully fitted kitchen, wood burning stove, smart TV, bluetooth speaker and much more.

The view from the living room and bedrooms, described as one of the best views in Ireland, is ever changing throughout the seasons. Located on the pier in the heart of the fishing village of Roundstone in the Connemara region, an area famous worldwide for its picturesque views, award-winning restaurants, fishing, walking and breath-taking beaches. O'Dowds Bar & Restaurant and Vaughan's Roundstone House Hotel, only metres from the house, serve award winning seafood throughout the season.

The properties have oil fired central heating, wireless internet, satellite TV, free parking outside the door, hotel standard beds, linen and goose down duvets.

For those with kayaks or even their own boat, the cottage provides a fantastic base for your holiday where you can step outside your front door and into your boat, moored in the shelter of Roundstone Harbour.

Golden sand and crystal-clear water can be found at Gurteen Beach and Dogs Bay, only 2 km away. These beaches are a mecca for swimming and beach combing throughout the year. Climb Errisbeg mountain behind the village and return for O'Dowd's famous seafood chowder, or locally picked mussels prior to a short stroll down the harbour to the luxury of the Quay Properties

Returnning to Roundstone for a cozy and relaxing break in a stunning location

Stayed previously in the perfect Roundstone Quay house, but this time booked the cottage. Standards as good in both. Everything you could need is provided. Two comfortable bedrooms in the cottage with the gorgeous views over the harbour. We went in December in bad weather but enjoyed a relaxing break.

Amazing time spent at Roundstone Quay, everything was perfect, warm, comfortable. Amazing view.

Think it would be easier to say what we didn’t like… NOTHING! Best location for views, restaurant, boat trips, well stocked shop. House was warm and inviting, really well stocked kitchen, bathroom and wood burner. Don’t think I’ve ever stay anywhere that I have fallen asleep so easily. It was so comfortable - we all agreed. We will be back, next time for longer. Thank you

We loved the view from the window across the bay to the 12 Bens.

Great house, clean, bright, and all the ‘mod cons’ that one could ask for. Incredible views. Wonderful location close to O’Dowds gastropub etc. Responsive hosts who helped immediately when we had a minor question. Very highly recommended.

The perfect family stay!

Absolutely beautiful! Set in a perfect location with stunning views overlooking Roundstone harbour. Filled with everything we needed for a hassle free family holiday. The place is so tastefully decorated with a homely feel and is spotless. Right in the heart of Roundstone. Ann was so helpful and lovely to deal with. We will definitely be back :)

Amazing quayside cosy cottage with fantastic views in the heart of the village

"Quay cottage was amazing and a great spot for exploring. The view was outstanding, incl watching an otter swimming past the harbour in front of us one evening. Anne was a responsive and helpful host and Roundstone village itself was friendly and had everything you needed. Would definitely return and recommend. 10/10. "

Best view in the West

Booking and communication were easy. The property was as advertised. The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Connemara. The view from the front windows was the true showstopper. Watching the sunrise over the 12 bens is surely one of the best sights in Ireland!

Wonderful family holiday in stunning location and house - thank you for letting us share it :)

We are return visitors to Quay House, so the glorious fishing / beaches/ hills/ food/ scenery, were not a surprise to us, but we enjoyed it as much we had done 5 years previous... the next generation also had a blast, crabbing and fishing off the port, paddle boarding, swimming, climbing Eris Beg, and so on... The property has been renovated since our last stay and we were all impressed, particularly with the extra touches that showed the owner's commitment to the environment.

Absolutely loved it!

Lovely cottage with uninterrupted views of the water. Everything you could need for a really relaxing stay, views from the living area and bedrooms are gorgeous, large comfy sofa with stove fire in the living area and great kitchen with all mods cons. Main bathroom has a large rain shower. 2 great beaches within 5 minutes drive, Dogs Bay and Gurteen beach. Cottage is 2 minutes walk to pubs, shops and restaurants. Loved it so much we booked again for 2 weeks in the summer of 2023
