An absolutely lovely home from home with everything you need. Everything was of a high standard and it was immaculately clean. Lots of extra touches like leaving grocery staples and milk. Makes a huge difference. We will definitely be back.Oh and the foxes were delightful as was your Dad who we met out walking a couple of times

AMAZING

The property location, household facilities, furniture and appliances and back yard were wonderful. Charlie and Michelle were amazing hosts to each and every one of us! We would definitely recommend this location to anyone who is staying in or near Edinburgh. Truly wonderful hosts and home and vacation because of them!

Comfy, clean, and convenient

Incredibly spacious and clean on a nice street! We had no trouble taking an Uber or bus into city center. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the backyard.

Short stay with family

We spent 3 nights here as it seemed close enough to the city center. We were more than pleasantly surprised with what a great location this is! Close to Portobello Beach and such an easy commute into New Town. The house is very clean and well kept with plenty of room for our group of 6. Lovely warm touches. Would certainly stay again!

Meeting in the middle we met up with our friends from Yorkshire as we live in the Highlands.

Perfect house for a family or friend's getting together. Lovely personalised experience home from home. Great location for uber access or walking into Edinburgh. On arrival we were greated with bread, milk, eggs, biscuits an abundance of hot drink options perfect after a long snowy drive. Very good stay would definitely recommend.

Perfect cottage near the city.

The cottages is delightful and was very well stocked and provisioned. Clean, comfortable, and with quick and easy access to the best of Edinburgh without being in the city itself. Walking distance to the beach. No trouble parking and navigating. We highly recommend it!

Comfortable stay 4 nights over New Year period

Fantastic property

The property and it's owners are a credit to the letting service. From communication, to cleanliness, to accessibilty (thank you again for going above & beyond by investing in some portable wheelchair ramps to make access even easier) this property just hits every level. Close to the City Centre, near the beach, near attractions & amenities with great transport links, just couldn't fault it . Will definitely return .

Scottish holiday

First of all, Charlie was great! We had major train delays and didn’t arrive until the middle of the night/very early morning and he was so nice to reach out with concern. He was very welcoming and quick to assist when we had issues with the heat. The welcome treats were fantastic! Much more than I’ve ever seen at other rentals. This was a great location for my group of 5. The common living area was nice sized and allowed us to gather together, yet have our space. I’d definitely book again, next time in Edinburgh!

Very nice house

The house is very nice with nice furnishings and the bedrooms are a decent size. The bathrooms are small but manageable. The back patio is also nice.The front door is a bit tricky to open/lock it, but once you figure out you have to lift the lever it works fine.The Host has a nice binder with info about several things that was very helpful.The 3rd bedroom is located upstairs in sort of an attic, it has ample space but that room was warmer than the others, the other rooms the air conditioning was perfect.We only saw the washing machine, I did message the host several times asking where the dryer was but I never got a response so we were not able to do our laundry. There is a clothes line outside, but we didn't have enough time to put clothes to dry on the line outside, we wanted to use a dryer inside the house. We didn't get to explore the nearby beach side, we only focused on the downtown area and Uber was a bit expensive, although we know we could have used the bus, there's bus access nearby, but for faster service we always used Uber.

The house was very cute & yard wonderful once we got back door security bar off. Unfortunately that's where any chance of a positive review ends.We didn't receive any check-in info so reached out via VRBO on the morning of our arrival. Tried multiple times to reach out & when no response past check-in time, called. Was told the app is broken & they would manually send instructions in 5 minutes (if they knew app was broken, they should have manually sent). When didn't arrive again, called & was told to use WhatsApp instead. When still didn't arrive, called again & suddenly they arrived 3 times. No check-out instructions provided so we did the standard check-out: used towels in the bathroom, start dishwasher, garbage out, check windows and doors, etc.Other feedback: Listing shows a dryer and hair dryers. THERE ARE NONE. OVERWHELMING perfume smell from approx 12 reed diffusers of different smells. We had to put them outside due to the horrific, painfully overpowering smell. There are no windows upstairs so the smell & heat were unbearable up there. Our son had to sleep on couch downstairs because of a terrible headache due to stench. Bedding & towels smelled like they had been drenched in febreze-type laundry detergent. Pubic hair on floor behind downstairs bathroom door so cleaning wasn't thorough.I don't like leaving reviews like this; it isn't comfortable and makes me feel icky, but this place made the end of our trip no fun.

Hi good afternoon- With regards to your terrible review - This is probably the first bad review we have ever received- Clean linen smell is actually a good thing which means the sheets towels etc have been properly cleaned !!!this is a standard practice/procedure to have nice fresh clean smells from linen, I’m lost for words on this matter - Regarding the reeed diffusers we only have 3 different kinds of reeed diffusers so the 12 different smells is a slight exaggeration- People comment how clean and fresh the house is -unfortunately you must Strongly disagree with reed diffusers however due to different people staying at the property it’s good to have a nice clean property due to cooking etc -hence why we have diffusers which we never had this complaint before - In regards to the back door we have a standard lock which is very simple to activate never had any complaints on this before- I feel 2/10 on these matters is very severe and has no substance - To complain on this is very surprising - We are sorry you guys had an issue with the property & disappointed you never had a nice experience- We will ensure people are informed before arrival going forward for reeed diffusers and clean lining smells- Best wishes Michelle & Charlie
