This cottage has 2 en-suite bedrooms.
Double bedroom en-suite has bath with shower over.
Twin bedroom has en-suite with shower enclosure.
A lovely spacious converted barn, with original exposed beams, open plan kitchen/dining and living area which has a cosy wood burner.
Well equipped kitchen area for all of your needs.
Upside down living with bedrooms downstairs and kitchen/dining/living area upstairs.
Sleeps 4 - plus cot (if required).
Pet Friendly - £25 pet pet. Please let us know if more than 1.
Parking directly behind cottage.

What a lovely place. Comfortable beds and both bedrooms havw en-suite, 2hich was a bonus. Kitchen was really well kitted out and it was lovely to find dog bowls, matt and towel ready to use on arrival. Very dog friendly with enclosed garden. We made full use of the free view TV and wood burner in the evenings. Lovely location on a farm. Host was really friendly and accommodating.

Amazing, lovely place and so quiet and peaceful, you can access the southwest coastal path, from the property with out driving . Fantastic.

We had a wonderful time at Hendra Barn. The barn was equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering stay. The accommodation was clean and maintained to a high standard. We appreciated the extra touches, such as milk and biscuits on arrival. The location is perfect for coastal walks and exploring nearby towns. We hope to return again in the future.

Had a wonderful stay. House was so cosy and had all the amenities we needed including a washer dryer which came in handy after long dog walks. The owner left a lovely packet of biccies for us and also some dog treats and towel. Only thing I would say is that the beds were a little on the hard side, perhaps a mattress topper could make the difference. Overall had a great stay.

Higher Hendra is a beautiful farm with many cottages in a great location near Port Isaac. Our stay in Hendra Barn was very enjoyable and we loved the ease of check in and the amenities upon check in, like dishwasher tablets and biscuits, which were a nice touch. The surroundings are tranquil and lovely with an amazing sunset on clear evenings.A few things I should mention, the place in its entirety is much smaller than expected. The double bed is too small for tall or larger people so be mindful when booking. I also found the mattresses/pillows very uncomfortable. The floors were quite gritty and felt quickly passed over so we had to do the downstairs bedroom floors again once we unpacked. The fridge and freezer are inside a closet next to the kitchen with the fridge set on the ground so if u have bad knees bending down to get your things can get quite cumbersome. Kitchen has everything it needs but it does feel very hot on warmer days with just a tiny fan to help. The plumbing for all drains/toilets upon arrival needed unclogging which the hosts helped with pretty soon after and when it happened again during the week they responded quickly as well. Mind we weren’t there during the day all that much so not sure why the plumbing was so sensitive. If you’re a star gazer the flood light in the parking lot is rather annoying but we did it anyways. Overall we found the hosts to be very helpful and kind, especially the grandad and his grandson who welcome you warmly!

The listing does specify that Hendra Barn has a double bed, and we’re sorry you didn’t find the mattress and pillows comfortable, as we regularly receive lovely feedback about them. As a rural property, we’re not on mains drainage and we can't control if other guests flush things that are unsuitable. We were happy to attend promptly when you contacted us, and being on-site means we’re always nearby should anything need attention. The parking area is lit for safe access at night, although there are plenty of darker areas around the farm for stargazing. Thank you again for your kind words about our family — it was lovely having you stay.

Had an excellent week at Hendra Barn. It's in a great location for exploring the north Cornish coast and also going inland. Incredibly spacious upstairs with lovely views. The kitchen is well set out and had everything we needed for cooking a few meals. Great wifi and a smart TV. Our dog loved having a floor length window to look out. Set on a working farm but apart from a few tractors we were completely undisturbed. It's far enough off the road not to hear any traffic noise but not at all isolated. There were young lambs in the field out the front of the cottage which we enjoyed watching and have never seen so many swallows! Met the farmer when we arrived and mistakenly parked on the wrong side of the building. He was so friendly and welcoming and proceeded to show us round the barn. Any queries were answered promptly and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Lovely biscuits provided when we arrived!

Great location for exploring Cornwall

We had a nice week in this cosy converted barn. Port Isaac, Padstow and surround area are in easy reach and its nice to come back from day trips to a warm fire and relaxing environment. Place was in good condition and we had a very pleasant stay with our dog enjoying it as well.

A beautiful barn conversion in a gorgeous countryside setting. Very homely and cosy. I can’t fault it! Lovely owners, very friendly and welcoming. The garden area was lovely and you could see the farm animals. The secure field opposite the barn was brilliant and perfect for the pooches. The coastal walk on the doorstep of the barn was great and had amazing views. The sunset there was surreal. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be visiting again!

Hendra Barn was everything we'd hoped for, it was simply magical!It had everything we could ever have hoped for, plus a charm that we'd never encountered before, the setting, the surrounding area, it was simply perfect! We also got to celebrate our daughters 20th birthday in the barn, which was decorated accordingly. We even had a new family of Swifts, where we were able to encounter the babies first flight's, all magical!! We quite simply can't wait to return!!!

Perfect NY stay

Beautifully cosy and clean stay. Great location for beaches, pubs, walks, cycle trail. Coast 30 mins walk (we did it with 2 kids on a very wet and windy day). Enclosed garden for the dog and kids overlooking the farm. Great communication with the host and checked we were settled in. Really comfy beds, lovely showers and floor fire. Kids loved being able to see the animals from the window. Perfect perfect stay - thank you

A peaceful retreat

The property is located on a working farm, in some ways reminiscent of Italian agriturismo. The listing is accurate and the property is excellently presented. A car is essential and the location is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only very minor drawback which is in no way the fault of the owners is the road leading over towards the property is very narrow and passing oncoming vehicles can sometimes be a bit tricky. All in all I thoroughly recommend a stay.

Home from home

This is a beautiful location. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean and cosy with everything you need. Plenty of room for a family of 4. If you’re after a peaceful spot this is perfect. Only a very short drive to Port Isaac. We would love to come back again next year for a longer stay. Hosts are also extremely friendly :-) Thanks so much for having us.

Our stay was great, however we had issues with getting hot water in the showers. Everything else was wonderful! Perhaps being Canadian we did not understand the system properly.

Hendra Barn is an excellent choice for families, friends & couples. The Twin and Double Bedroom both have the added bonus of having en-suites.
With the fabulous open plan living space upstairs with high ceilings, original beams and a cosy woodburner for those chilly evenings, it makes the perfect space for evenings of eating, playing games and watching your favourite TV programmes.

With your own outside space to have a morning cuppa or eat Alfresco, or even do some star gazing... There are no street lights here! With parking on your doorstep and the coast path being opposite it's the perfect location for exploring North Cornwall.

With us having other cottages here on-site at Higher Hendra Cottages that sleep from 2, 3 & 4, families often stay with us to have multiple family holidays, but the comfort of having your own space, please contact us if this is of interest.
