The unit was very clean and the kitchen appliances, crockery etc were new and/or good quality. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the double/single bunk in the second bedroom worked well for us. For those with mobility challenges be aware that the stairs to the bedrooms are somewhat steep. Parking was generally available on the street within a short distance from the cottage, and loading was available right outside the unit. The neighbourhood is great, quiet and residential but with cafes and restaurants nearby. We drove to the city centre, but it would be a reasonable 20 minute walk. The host communication was excellent - clear, responsive and detailed, but not overbearing. Overall, a great base for exploring York. Highly recommended.

Great location, very quiet area.

A wonderful place to stay that's close to the city centre but in a very peaceful location. The cottage is immaculate with a great kitchen and bathroom plus comfortable bedrooms. Parking was readily available on the next street so no issues there and 2 minutes away from a bus stop.

Quiet, peaceful cottage

This was such a relaxing, cozy stay. I am traveling with my 18 year old son, and this was a perfect place for us to each have our own space. The hospitality was excellent—the hosts thought of so many extras to make us comfortable. It’s a slight jaunt from the sights, but that also means it was a quiet place to stay, and the only thing that woke me up was morning bird song. I would recommend.

During our 2-week holiday in the UK, we stayed at 4 different locations and this was by far the best! Wish we had spent more time here. Excellent stay within walking distance to York on a beautiful home.

This home was perfect for our family of 5. The kitchen was well equipped and the host even left little treats and basic staples to help us get started which was so appreciated. We managed to find street parking for free and walked into York to see the sights which was ideal. Great location, quiet and lovely neighbourhood with a park and a shop a few hundred meters away. Lovely furnishings, extremely clean, comfy beds. We loved it!

Loved our stay

Outside of York, which we liked. A bit too far to walk with luggage but the #9 bus is close and a quick way to get to town centre. The apartment is really clean and beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds. The snacks and milk etc. provided by hosts was wonderful. Bathroom is downstairs from bedrooms which isn’t fun at night, but otherwise perfect!

Superb base to explore York and beautifully appointed

This is such a great place which could very comfortably accommodate a small group or a family. Extremely well appointed and only about 10 minute walk to the city wall. Nice cafe and a local shop just around the corner, as well as a good fish and chip shop. Jim was a great host - very attentive - and his communication was excellent. Really could not fault it it any way and would have no hesitation in recommending this for a brilliant city break in one of England’s most beautiful cities.

Exploring York and Theatre trip

This is the second time I have stayed at this property - once with my family and this time with friends. The house is very conveniently situated - a walk into the city centre or an easy bus ride. The house is an incredibly cute little cottage finished to a really high standard. It has everything you could possibly need and the owners have thought of everything! All the little touches were very much appreciated (like a bottle of milk and even a bottle of Prosecco!) I would definitely recommend this property!
