Well equipped lodge, nice location and having sauna and hot tub is fantastic. There's a few tight corners but great value.

Wolf Lodge

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wolf Lodge. Well located for great walks and Cycling. The Jacuzzi and Sauna are an added Bonus which make this property excellent value for money. The property is great for 2 adults and two children as Bunk bed room is quite small. Overall a great Holiday.

Second time here, won’t be the last.

Second time at Wolf Lodge. Actually got engaged there almost 5 years ago. Lovely little lodge and amenities are perfect. New and impressive decking/fencing since our last visit. If I had anything to improve, I would say a slightly larger TV wouldn’t go a miss. I know not everyone will watch TV and it is on wheels so you can pull it closer, however, it is on the small side. Small gripe but that tells you how much everything else is spot-on.

What a brilliant wee place

We absolutely loved our stay at Wolf Lodge. You guys have thought of absolutely everything when it comes to facilities and it is the perfect, quiet, brilliantly located little lodge for accessing all of the usual tourist areas and woodland walks close by. The lodge itself is just perfect, it had plenty of space for our family of four plus our dog. The garden is secure so the kids and dog could easily go out and run around without worry. The hot tub and sauna were fab for us being able to unwind when the kids finally went down for the night (the bunk beds were just too exciting for them so they were awake for AGES chatting and playing). We would absolutely love to come back again!

What a wonderful review of your stay at Wolf Lodge, we are delighted you and your family had such a great stay and enjoyed everything the area has to offer. Pleased to hear you managed to make time for the hot tub when the kids finally managed to fall asleep in the magical land of the bunkbeds :) Come back and stay with us again soon!

Weeken break

Website looked impressive. Outside the decking, hot tub etc looked good but inside it looked tired. Old furniture, tiny bunk beds and very little space. Four adults could not have eaten at that table. I’ve never seen such a tiny television before. A cupboard to hang up things had a high chair, baby cot and ironing board in it. Tiniest of kitchens with nowhere to put dry foods. Good sauna and bathroom but towels a bit dated too. Parking was very tight, very difficult to reverse out.

A relaxing base for our adventures

We had a peaceful stay at Wolf Lodge. It has cool alpine vibes. The log burner soon makes the room nice and cozy. We were able to cook some delicious meals in the kitchen. The sauna was amazing and on the clear nights the stars were beautiful from the hot tub.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Wolf Lodge, the mix of hot tub & sauna is a real hit with our guests, especially when things start to get a bit chilly outside! The lodge is perfectly suited for a small group or family, some of our larger properties also have the magical mix of sauna & hot tub.

Lovely little place!

Stayed here as a family of four with a dog, quirky & cosy and well placed for days out. Well equipped (although we couldn’t work the oven). Would definitely stay again

Good location and facilities for a short stay.

Good, peaceful location just out of Carrbridge which has good facilities for eating out. The lodge has everything you would need. Space somewhat limited but fine for a short stay. Suitable for a couple and up to 2 children.

Great stay at wolf lodge

We had a really nice week at wolf lodge. The lodge was cosy and fun, and had everything we needed really, and hot tub/sauna was really nice in the cool autumn weather, as was the wood burner and plenty of logs thanks (the hatchet was very blunt so making kindling was trickier but doable! - and I guess I could’ve just bought some!). Nice quiet location on the lane, with the path down to the river leading into the village etc and a great base for exploring area, the forests and mountains in the Cairngorms. Really nice week away.

Surprise 40th stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would book again. As very minor points, some areas could have done with a bit attention ie fence and decking being painted and windows could have benefitted from a wash but on the whole, lovely lodge and our family loved staying here.

Already can’t wait to come back!

Had the most amazing time at Wolf Lodge, it was cosy! Spotless and eveything you could want. Everything you need in the kitchen, we cooked a lovely meal every night and enjoyed it infront of the fire. My labrador felt right at home too, lazy mornings with the fire on. Great location with just a short drive into Aviemore. Already been looking when we can book and come again!

Relaxing Highland retreat

We loved our week here. Very tranquil surroundings. Garden lovely for sitting out in and hot tub was a luxurious touch which we used at least once a day. Fantastic location for Landmark and other local attractions. Would definitely stay again. Great to have a washing machine as well as dishwasher. Our 6 year old really enjoyed the lodge and the stair going up to the bedroom.

Fantastic long weekend

We are a family of 3 and our daughter was 6 at the time of stay. We all loved the location, the lodge itself had a magical feel to it and the hot tub was a bonus! Surrounded by trees, friendly birds popped by the bird feeders while we chilled in the hot tub. It was ideally placed for a trip to Landmark adventure park, which was only a 20 minute walk away. We also took a short drive to Loch Morlich and Lochan Uaine as part of our trip. All in all a great place to stay, and had all the facilities we could possibly need

Perfect week in the Cairngorms

We spent a lovely week in Wolf Lodge which is well positioned to go exploring in the mountains. The lodge was small but had everything we needed for two adults to have a comfortable stay and everything was in working order. Unfortunately, all along the driveway were full dog poo bags left by the neighbour, which is not a great first impression. But the lodge itself was clean and tidy and we took full advantage of the hot tub.

Overall good

Would recommend that you leave an idiots guide for the induction hob, couldn’t find instructions in manual file or online; we managed to get the oven to work though. Everything was great and a good base for walking and cycling plus day tripping

A well needed break away

We know the area well and have stayed in a few different accommodations. This was a treat because of the hot tub and the sauna. For the price we paid, the lodge is tired. The settee is very soft and not the easiest to get up from (being of a certain age). The kitchen is very function-able except for seeing the controls on the cooker. It functions well for a couple, would be small for a family of 4.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Good location Has everything you need - hot tub/sauna/log burner/dishwasher/washing machine etc Cons: On the small side which meant feeling cramped The mattresses are not comfy which meant a couple of sleepless nights I would still recommend property due to the pros

Nice little cottage

While the pictures make it seem bigger then it is, I still enjoyed my stay there very much. Coming from Canada, it took a little getting used to. The stove ... HoB? was completely new to me. While the weather didn't co-operate too much, i did manage to sneak into the hot hot once, for a very relaxing time. The wood stove, while small, heats it up fast as well. My only complaint, was the shower/toilet. Not to say there's anything wrong with it, but being 6'1, 350lb, it was a tight fit for me. I would still stay there again though, in a heartbeat. It was a very good place to explore norther Scotland from!

Fantastic location, but in need of TLC

We had a great stay at the Wolf Lodge, place was clean and location is brilliant. The kids loved the hot tub and we were very comfortable. You can tell when built Wolf Lodge was very very nice, but we felt it looked a bit like it needed some TLC. Only a few issues really, we didn't have enough soace to all eat together on the table, and the kids couldn't explore the woods directly opposite due to the INSANE amount of dog poo. Which wasn't nice to see. We would come again though!

Great location but needing upgraded

We loved the location In amongst the trees, had to put the sauna on to heat the bathroom and kitchen up, kitchen fridge was very smelly due to being turn off and shut and caused the kitchen to smell for the first 3 days, instructions for appliances are very basic or not explained the best, would come back in the summer in the better weather, hot tub and sauna was great and al beds were comfy and the kids loved it, 6/10

Wolf Lodge May 2024

We stayed for 3 nights in May and had an enjoyable stay. The location is good and the interior was clean although dated. Some furniture was falling apart including a drawer front which fell off and some handles. The exterior could be cleaner, including the decking area, outdoor tables and chairs and the hot tub. There was no hairdryer provided as specified, but the manager brought one quickly. The lodge was well equipped but small. I felt it was quite expensive for a dated, small property.

Great stay in a lovely location

The lodge had everything we needed for our stay and all information was provided without needing to ask. The instructions for how to use the induction hob were missing (someone mentioned this in a previous review), which are important if you’ve never used one before so I had to spend a good 30 minutes on the internet trying to fathom it out! And maybe the instruction manual needs an overhaul as some of the equipment in the lodge has been updated so not everything in the manual is relevant. We enjoyed our time at Wolf Lodge, it was comfortable and clean - I would stay there again for sure!
