Just a short walk from the train station, a great place to base your Jungfrau adventures. The hosts were very engaged to make sure we had everything we needed. Three adults and three kids (age 3,6,9) had plenty of space. The balcony/deck has one of the best views in Wengen!

Stunning views of the Lauterbrunnen valley and easy access to the train station. We loved waking up to the evolving view as clouds gave way to sun each day. The unit was so peaceful and spacious. We only had 4 total people so we barely used the upstairs but it was nice to be able to spread out with 2 kids. Check in and check out were very simple and flexible as we were able to get into the unit early and leave late. This was a once in a lifetime vacation and we can't wait to come back!

What an absolutely incredible stay! A fantasy. The property couldn't be in a better location, right under the train station, so you're close but literally never hear it at all. The view is better than pictured. Rooms clean, host very communicative. Only note: they process payments through a credit card processor that charges a 5% surcharge and that wasn't communicated ahead of time. You can ask to pay in Francs on their website to avoid the hidden fee with a credit card that doesn't charge for currency conversion.

Great location and great views

Julie was especially helpful as we finally returned to Wengen after three years. This apartment is particularly close to the train station and grocery and has the absolute best views of any of the places we have stayed. Perfect for two families traveling together.

A Trip to dad’s happy place

Parents and two sons and their spouses spent a week here. The space was very convenient and comfortable. The view was beautiful and amazing. Close to the station, co-op and restaurants.

The view alone makes this place worth the cost. My husband and I enjoyed the patio immensely to take in the breathtaking views of Wengen. The inside of the property needs some love. The kitchen is mismatched at best—knives are dull and missing points, broken items or items in need of replacement. The kitchen table is broken and has been glued back together. The outside table is missing a chair. The beds are hard, the linens are rough. The shower didn’t drain properly. It’s not a luxury stay.The location to the coop, train station and areas of jungfrau made for an enjoyable stay but I feel like the photos need updating or the property needs a refresh to be accurate.

Just an amazing place

We rented this unit and the unit under it for an extended family vacation and we simply can't say enough good things about it. It was one of the best views in any place we've ever stayed ever. The apartment itself was comfortable, modern, and in a great location (near the train station, downtown, and market). It was clean and modern. You won't regret it here!

Awesome stay in Wengen

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day stay in Wengen. The views from the apartment were spectacular, the apartment was clean and well-equipped. We liked being so close to the train station and services, while being in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Our host was extremely considerate and responsive. We would rent the Chalet Hannegg Penthouse again should we return to Wengen. Great experience!

Beautiful house, beautiful location

Perfect place for our family’s first time in the Alps. Lots of hikes in Wengen or accessible by train system. The caretaker answered our text very quickly when we could not figure how to get the fridge to work at 9 pm at night. Wengen also seemed quieter than some of the other villages which was just what we wanted.

Spectacular view

The view from multiple rooms of the apartment was spectacular. The space was both roomy and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook in several nights. It was a short walk to the grocery store and train station. So much to see and do in the area. Communication was excellent with the property manager. Perfection.

The Switzerland Experience

If you want the authentic Switzerland experience then Chalet Hannegg is your destination. Wengen is the quintessential Swiss town, a quiet car-free village in the mountains. Far enough from the city close enough to access the train to virtually anywhere. The chalet was perfect for our group of 6. We cooked a communal breakfast in front of spectacular view of the mountains and waterfalls. We had enough room to spend the evenings together after long days of hiking and exploring. The chalet was stocked with all the essentials we needed. The bonus was the location; a short walk to the train, grocery store and restaurants. The communication was excellent, easy checking/check out. I would highly recommend getting your Swiss fix at Chalet Hannegg.

Our stay in Wengen was delightful. The penthouse chalet had beautiful views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the waterfalls, and it was perfectly located right in the heart of town. It was just a short walk to the grocery store, restaurants, Main Street, and the gondola, making it incredibly convenient for everything we wanted to do.The unit itself was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family of six. We especially enjoyed the panoramic views through the large glass windows, as well as the balcony with the zero-gravity chairs. The kitchen was well-appointed, and the layout made it easy to relax after long days exploring.The location was ideal for day trips to Mürren, Gimmelwald, the Schilthorn, and Jungfraujoch, with easy access right off the trail. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Excellent for family vacation

The chalet was just perfect for our family vacation of 6 adults one 4-year-old and two babies. The location was perfect for getting out and about. The balcony offered us a perfect gathering place at the end of a day of hiking where we enjoyed a glass of wine and the incredible view. Absolutely nothing. Everything was as we were expecting and the communication in organizing our stay was very helpful and thorough.

Amazing view

Two families if 4 stayed for 4 nights in this lovely chalet. There was plenty of room to spread out. The best place to be however is on the patio looking at the view. Magnificent!! This chalet was beautifully appointed & clean. It is located in a perfect area to go shopping or walk to restaurants, and very close to train station & the Coop grocery. So happy that we stayed here! Wengen is a beautiful place to be.

Wengen chalet

Great stay in this chalet. Met needs very well for extended family ages 6 - 72. Listing description and photos accurate. Beautiful view. Easy access into town with supermarket, several very nice restaurants, ice cream, playgrounds and gondola station to access outstanding hikes throughout the area. (Note that the steps from chalet into town mentioned in several reviews do have railings if needed.) Kids really enjoyed pool. Note that laundry machine is small capacity with wash/dry combined so took a few hours for each load. Beds very comfortable. Excellent communication with Julie prior to trip to answer a number of questions we had. Overall loved our visit - 5 nights not quite enough!
