Gorgeous cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sledbank Cottage. It was absolutely beautiful inside, spotlessly clean, really well equipped and very comfortable and relaxing, and the bed was super comfy too. We just felt so at home as soon as we walked in and were even welcomed with a card and home made ginger cake which was absolutely delicious. The hot tub was great - set in a totally private patio area with lots of lighting for after dark and a plastic tub provided to keep towels and robes dry in the rain. It’s just a short distance away from a lovely quiet beach with a fabulous beach cafe. We would highly recommend.

Excellent Stay

We had a lovely time at the cottage! It’s absolutely beautiful, and the jacuzzi and fire really added to the experience. The location is perfect—very peaceful and relaxing. The hosts are super nice, which made our stay even better. We would highly recommend it!

Amazing little place

This place is stunning! It’s clean and fresh and so welcoming. The bed is so comfy and makes for an amazing nights sleep after sight seeing. Everything is maintained to such a high standard. I would recommend this place to anyone. There’s also the joys of a hot tub too!

The owners thought of everything

Lovely little well looked after cottage . The owners had thought of everything from logs ,firelighters and matches to treats and a pint of milk . Aurora on three nights a bonus

Excellent cosy cottage stay

Everything was lovely & the service was excellent. Our personal preference is to have a softer mattress so the bed was a little hard for us but other than this everything was perfect for a trip to the south west lakes. Many thanks to everyone involved and a special thank you for the birthday cake - very much appreciated

A perfect peaceful retreat!

We had a wonderful stay at Sledbank Cottage. We were greeted with a delicious jam and coconut cake, which went down perfectly with a cuppa after our adventures. It’s a truly peaceful retreat with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a real treat and the cosy fire and beautiful finishes throughout the cottage made it feel extra special. The cottage is ideally located as a base for exploring the Lake District — we visited Wast Water and Ambleside with ease. Overall, it was the perfect, peaceful stay, and we’re already looking forward to returning again in the near future.

Gorgeous cottage

We spent a week in this lovely lovely cottage. This was more than a home from home, offering some real luxury from the cosy blankets on the sofa to the slippers and robes in the bathroom. Everything about the design of this cottage has been thought through in detail and has all you could want for a place to relax in whatever the weather. The addition of the hot tub was very welcome after a day of walking in the Lakes - a great way to ease the muscles! The courtyard is a real sun trap too. There are some lovely walks on the doorstep - Black Combe and the England Coast Path, and numerous walks within a short drive - the Duddon Valley and Wastwater. The nearby Miners Arms, about a 15 min walk away, is a friendly place for a pint or two. The welcome basket was very welcome indeed - and as for the homemade brownies - wow - worth the stay in themselves!

Stylish cottage for a quiet getaway

Stylish cottage that manages to be remote and well connected both at the same time. It’s a little bit out of Silecroft which has a lovely beach and beach cafe but not much else ( even the lovely local pub doesn’t serve food). But on the other hand it’s not far to Millom which is pretty well served, including a decent sized Tesco and also, being just off the A595, is convenient for all the western and southern Lake District. Hot tub is in a private little courtyard and kitchen is perfect for two with an induction hob with proper pans, not just those cheap ‘all purpose pans’ that allegedly work with induction hobs but don’t do it very well. In other words nothing is done on the cheap so not bad value.

Thank you for a fantastic 5* review of Sledbank, it is a beautiful, well furnished and equipped cottage with everything you could possibly want for a lovely stay in a peaceful location, yet only minutes from lovely scenery and villages.
