BEWARE: Gross misrepresentation – I was so shocked I did not stay
I was genuinely shocked by the difference between how this property was advertised and its actual condition. Described as "stunning" and offering a "stylish experience", the reality was basic and modest at best. In my opinion, the photographs did not fairly represent what I found on arrival.
To be fair, the flat was tidy and appeared reasonably clean. The kitchen was adequate and the mismatched furniture functional. However, carpets were significantly stained, marks on walls, flooring heavily worn, and the dated bathroom had visible rust, cracks and mould. There was a musty smell throughout, despite the strong scent of air freshener.
The car park contained broken glass and discarded furniture. Communal areas were in an awful state, and the building's main entrance door did not lock, raising security concerns.
As a woman travelling alone in an unfamiliar city, I did not feel safe or comfortable staying. I was so shocked by the condition of the property and how far it fell short of its advertised description that I chose not to stay even one night.
In my view, this was a gross misrepresentation of the accommodation.
On a positive note, Vrbo has been helpful and professional in handling my complaint.
