Bloomfield House is a magnificent private mansion just one mile from the heart of Bath, sleeping up to 16 adults and 6 children across nine individually designed bedrooms.

With a private cinema, hot tub, beautiful gardens and wonderful spaces for dining and entertaining, Bloomfield House is made for unforgettable stays with family and friends.

The House

Sleeping up to 16 adults and 6 children, Bloomfield House has nine individually styled bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom.

Two impressive master suites occupy the first floor, both enjoying views across Bath and luxurious bathrooms with freestanding stone baths and walk-in showers. Each also has either a Smart TV or projector and a walk-in wardrobe or dressing area.

Also on the first floor is a children's bedroom with six built-in bunk beds – a magical space that's always a favourite with younger guests.

At the heart of the house is a large, beautifully equipped kitchen with everything needed to cater for a group, including a double oven and two dishwashers.

The dining room's impressive solid-oak table seats up to 18 guests, providing the perfect setting for long breakfasts, celebratory dinners and memorable evenings together.

Elsewhere, the elegant reception rooms provide plenty of space to spread out, whether you want to curl up with a book, enjoy a drink together, play games or simply relax after a day exploring Bath.


Cinema, Hot Tub & Entertainment

There's plenty to do without ever leaving Bloomfield House. Settle in for a movie night in the private cinema room, professionally equipped with a 4K projector and full surround sound. Choose from the film library or stream your own favourites through Apple TV.

Outside, unwind in the hot tub, with a convenient adjacent changing room, or enjoy the large lawn and landscaped gardens. For a little friendly competition, you'll find table tennis, badminton, cornhole and giant Jenga, while the garden room houses an arcade machine loaded with thousands of classic games.

You can even arrange your own casino evening, with a roulette and blackjack table and accessories available for your stay.


Gardens

Bloomfield House is surrounded by beautifully landscaped private gardens, with a large lawn and plenty of space for the whole group to enjoy.

The garden room opens onto a decked entertaining area with outdoor dining, while the pergola provides another lovely spot to sit and relax.

On warm days, it's a wonderful place for breakfast outside, an afternoon BBQ or drinks before dinner.


Breakfast & Private Catering

A complimentary continental breakfast is included with your stay, with pastries, cereals, yoghurt and fruit provided for you, along with tea and coffee.

Coffee lovers can choose between Nespresso and bean-to-cup coffee.

If you'd rather leave the cooking to someone else, additional catering can be arranged. From relaxed BBQs and buffets to special three-course dinners, we can help create something to suit your occasion.


A Historic Bath Mansion

Bloomfield House is a Grade II listed mansion dating from the 1700s, sensitively renovated to combine the character of an historic country house with the comfort and convenience of a modern luxury stay.

The house has a fascinating history. It was once home to a Lord Mayor of Bath, is believed to have been designed by renowned Bath architect Thomas Baldwin and even bears scars from bomb damage sustained during the Second World War.

Today, its period character sits alongside contemporary bathrooms, entertainment and modern comforts, making Bloomfield House a wonderfully distinctive place to stay.


Bath on Your Doorstep

Despite the feeling of staying in your own private mansion, Bath city centre is only one mile away.

It's an easy 15–20-minute downhill walk into the city, while taxis, Uber and local buses make the return journey simple. Bath Spa railway station is also approximately one mile from the house.

Pubs, restaurants and shops can be found within a 10-minute walk, so there's no need to drive every time you want to head out.

From the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey to the city's restaurants, bars, independent shops and famous Georgian architecture, some of Bath's best attractions are within easy reach.

Christmas at Bloomfield House

December is a particularly magical time to visit Bath, when the city comes alive for the famous Bath Christmas Market. (2026 dates - Thursday November 26th to Sunday December 13th)

Bloomfield House makes a wonderful setting for an early Christmas gathering with family or friends. Spend the day exploring the market before returning to your own private house for drinks, dinner, a film in the cinema or an evening in the hot tub.
For an extra-special celebration, catering can also be arranged so everyone can enjoy the occasion without anyone having to cook.


Good to Know

Bloomfield House sleeps a maximum of 16 adults plus 6 children.

There are no ground floor bedrooms, all require stairs to access.

There is a gated driveway with parking for 8 cars.

Parties and events are not permitted including stag and hen groups. We are in a residential area, so noise restrictions are in place from 10pm to 8am to respect our neighbours.

Our lovely housekeepers, Gill and Jon, live in the lower ground floor apartment with an independent entrance. They are very friendly and are there for any issues, they will be happy to enhance your stay or leave you completely alone, whichever you prefer.

Exterior security cameras are located at the property for security purposes. These cover the driveway and the entrance gates only.
