The hosts were very easy to work with and helpful. The area was quiet along a small street in a rural neighborhood, and there were great views of the mountains (and a partial view of the lake). This was a very scenic setting away from any town, but among several homes in the area. There was even a charming pasture of cows a few houses down, and we could hear their cowbells ringing! There were very few amenities, such as no kitchen appliances aside from a French Press for coffee. For our week's stay, there was one bath towel per person and one hand towel per bathroom, with hand soap and shampoo. Essentially, plan ahead to bring extra towels or toiletries. The bedrooms were set up like a hostel (the linens were folded upon the beds that needed to be made up), the beds were akin to dorm room beds, and there was a shelving unit with hanging space to be used as a dresser and closet. Even in the fall we used the fans in the bedrooms, as opening the windows allowed in the insects. For those with limited mobility, please note the laundry was down a set of winding stairs, and the entrance was up a set of outdoor steps (this is a duplex with a separate unit on the main level). I would recommend this rental for a young family or young adult travelers. It makes a great base for those planning to spend their time adventuring outdoors. Various tourist attractions were within a half hour to an hour's drive, including the town of Thun, the Beatus Caves, and Interlaken.
