CASA RURAL GARABITERO is located in the heart of the medieval town of Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa.
The house is the result of a complex and meticulous comprehensive renovation of an old manor house originally built in the 16th century. The renovation sought to establish a dialogue between traditional and contemporary architecture. The construction work, finishes, and unique details of the furnishings were all executed with great care.
Casa Garabitero consists of two apartments, which can be rented separately or together, as well as a first floor that is rented independently, comprising a living room and a “Txoko”—ideal for gatherings and events of all kinds. In the basement is an old wine cellar, known locally as a “cueva” or “calado.”

The Allerico and Sofi apartments at Casa Garabitero are equipped with more amenities than the booking website allows to list by default. Each apartment has a kitchen equipped with an induction cooktop, range hood, sink, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, and microwave, as well as a refrigerator with a freezer; as well as all kinds of kitchenware, including plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, and small appliances such as a blender, coffee maker, toaster, and juicer, and a steam iron for ironing clothes. In the living-dining room, there is a table for 6 guests, a flat-screen TV, and a sofa bed with its own bedding set. Bedroom 1 has 2 beds (90 cm wide) with bedding, a flat-screen TV, and a closet. Bedroom 2 has one double bed (1.35 wide) with bedding, a flat-screen TV, and a closet. The apartment’s shared bathroom is equipped with a very large walk-in shower, a sink, and a toilet, as well as towels, shower gel, shampoo, and a hair dryer. Bedroom 2 and the living-dining room each have a balcony overlooking Calle Mayor; Bedroom 1 has two balconies overlooking the building’s courtyard.
The building is accessible and has an elevator.

Another important feature of Casa Garabitero is that the building has an “A” energy efficiency rating with very low CO2 emissions. It is a sustainable home that minimizes its environmental impact as much as possible. The hot water, heating, and underfloor cooling systems are powered by geothermal energy.
The home features a photovoltaic solar panel system, making it even more sustainable. And, of course, all the lighting is LED.
In this way, a comfortable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly home has been created.

The first floor, which is rented separately, consists of a living room and a “Txoko” equipped with a commercial kitchen, a charcoal grill, and a full set of kitchenware—ideal for gatherings and events of all kinds. In the basement, there is an old wine cellar known in this region as “cuevas” or “calados.”
These spaces are rented separately from the rest of the house, subject to prior arrangement and approval by the host.
